I am coming up to Northern Michigan for a week and I was wondering what are some good trails/tracks to ride on. Or if anybody had private trails or tracks and would be kind enough to let me and my friend ride on them.

Not sure if this will help anyone but I researched incessantly for an answer and didn’t find what I was looking for. I have a 91 XR250L and my chain and sprockets were wore out from previous owner. The gearing on it was 12 front and 42 rear. Stock is 13/40. I simply wanted to know how much different the bike would perform at stock gearing vs what I had on it. The answers I kept finding was for much different gearing that is far from stock. I just couldn’t get an accurate account on how stock runs. The 12/42 had a lot of low end punch and good enough top end for what I use it for which is trails and dirt roads. I couldn’t get sprockets locally in any size but stock. I already had the stock sizes that came with the bike and they are new. I bought a chain and put the new stock sprockets on and it is different but not in a bad way. Less low end but still plenty for any trails you would ride unless it gets very technical like climbing rocks or other stuff you see the red bull hard enduro guys do 😂. It’s less snappy but 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear are still very useable for trails and the last 3 gears seem endless. So if anyone is wondering how stock gearing performs on the 250L.... it’s fine and it’s useable. I’ll report back after a more in-depth ride this Friday!

I recently bought a 2017 CRF250L off Facebook and after weeks of back and forth at the SOS I've finally gotten it titled in my name. Problem is the dealership that sold it to the previous owner titled it as "off-road use only" and as such could only be transferred to me for off-road use. I understand that I can have a police officer fill out a TR-54 form and take that to the Secretary of State to get the title fixed and the bike plated. When I called my local PD I was told that it has to be a specially trained officer that does the inspection and wished me luck as the database that Michigan keeps is full of retired officers. As such out of the four names on the list I called none even answered. Has anyone, namely in the Metro Detroit/Downriver area, had any luck finding someone to do the inspection?

So what do you guys do for storing your bike in the winter. Drain coolant and put anti freeze, and what do I do with the other fluids. In Michigan

I'm a late bloomer for trail riding but finally took the bike out and I definitely picked the wrong trail. Tried riding near Gladwin trail 6 and not having any experience in deep sand it was brutal. I was riding the main trail and not the MCCT due to I didnt have anyone to ride with and the wife and father in law were in the sxs following. I made it only a 15 maybe 20 min. and had to turn back. Any trail suggestions that aren't half a foot deep of sand would be appreciated. Still need to build my skill set before hanging out on the beach.

So this Friday the weather forecast shows around 45 degrees. I would love to get a last ride in before the snow starts to fly. I know I technically am allowed to ride from 11am-2pm during deer season. I am not a hunter. How much of a d-bag move is it? Anybody else planning on riding? I would probably be riding a trail like Cedar Creek or M20.

Hi Guys! I Have an XC 300 Ktm 2008 model year. Im considering doing supermoto wheels/tires this winter. Any supermoto guys here in MI? Any advice for a 2 cycle supermoto? Curious on where to start with gearing? Change carb jetting for street use? Thanks in advance!!

Has anyone been out yet to see if any of the trails are getting close to being rideable? preferably in woverine at the Tomahawk trail system? Getting the itch to ride now that our winter has turned to dog shit. Thanks guys

Good afternoon all! I am trying to get my 2009 KTM 300 XC ready for some Michigan riding in the near future. I was curious on all of your thoughts...I know I can easily hook up a TrailTech Electric fan kit on my KTM, plugs are there, power and all....but it is $145 or so and do I really need it? It is not super warm in MI usually. I generally ride state trails (Ambrose, Ogemaw, etc) and have raced a few HareScrambles. I hope to be out at Portland on May 6th for the HareScramble (C or K-Class depending on the new rules). Based on all of that, what do those of you with similar bikes in similar conditions feel? Fan or no fan? Any thoughts would be great, thank you!

I recently acquired a a 1999 husavina 410 te, my title says for off road use only I really want to make her street legal here in Michigan.

I am planning to ride this on Sunday (1/29/17) if the lake Effect Snow stays away. I have never been to this Trail is it well marked ? I will be out there sometime in the Early afternoon. It will be a slower ride since I have just gotten a New Bike and this is the First ride since I hit my Deer last October. So anything you can tell me about the trail would be Great.

Weather projected to be low 40's..can anyone chime in if they think the trails would be suitable for a rip?

Anyone been out that way since all this rain and such this week? Curious how much snow left on trail. With mid week through weekend warm up next week, I may just go over there and trail ride lol. I know itll be soggy, but that doesnt usually stop me.

Thinking about getting into dirt biking. How much is insurance for something like a 10 year old TTR125 or 230 in MI? I'm guessing it's not much but figured I better look into it because my wife will ask. LOL Thanks

OK. Silly question. I haven't ridden yet. I was watching some dirt bike trail riding in MI on YouTube and the trails were narrower than I thought they would be. Are they supposed to be one way? Has anyone ever had a head on collision? Just curious.

Had a Harley Dyna super glide traded that in on a Ktm and its more $100 more per year. I figured it would be cheap but I was way off. Love the ktm but just curious what other guys are paying for full coverage plus $25k medical on street legal dirt bikes in Michigan ktm,Honda,yamaha,ect... I have great record and credit and Im through state farm is around $670year.

Never really noticed because I put my bike to bed before deer season. But, I stopped at Cedar yesterday and saw the gate. Went online and saw that Holton was also closed and the season started in April. Without checking - are all the NFS trails closed all winter? Just curious really. I've always wondered why the State ORV stickers run March to March, seems like they could align with the forest service? Just curious

Does anyone know if they are still open for mx practice and snowcross racing?
