  1. I am heading up north for a few days with some buddies to ride. We are looking to go to Huntersville and Martineau for some single track. What are the differences if any? Trying to figure out where to ride and for how long! Any Advice would be great. Thanks!
  2. Are there any supermoto riders hiding around here? We have a small group of DRZ's in the SE MN area, and it would be cool to organize some hell-raising.
  3. Hey All. I ride a '12 WR450F and am looking for an ideal combo of intermediate Terrain tires. I was looking at getting the Dunlop Geomax MX52's but they do NOT make a 18" size for the rear. I do not motocross, just hit trails hard. Any recommendations for our riding area? Thanks in advance!
  4. Ride what you have, street tracker, flat tracker, Sumo, dual sport, enduro, adventure touring, what ever. Just know there will be dirt and asphalt on this ride. Date: We., Oct. 18th! Location: Bobby & Steve's Auto World (MOBIL) 1221 Washington Ave S Stands up: 12:30PM KSU (if you are running late post up, we leave no tard behind) Approx. I have a really good route planned, that's why we need to take off early. We run deep...
  5. Ride what you have, street tracker, flat tracker, Sumo, dual sport, enduro, adventure touring, what ever. Just know there will be dirt and asphalt on this ride. Date: Sat., Aug. 30th! Location: Bobby & Steve's Auto World (MOBIL) 1221 Washington Ave S Stands up: ~11AM KSU (if you are running late post up, we leave no tard behind) Approx. Ride Length: 3 HRS Difficulty: 6/10 The Plan: Twisties, industrial parks, off road trails, city braaps, back of a squad car, etc... I plan to address the hooning before the ride, just remember there will be a time and place. Group rides like this tend to garner a lot of attention 8) We have a good 50/50 dirt and street route planned. Mostly industrial exploration around Minneapolis.
  6. 2015 Fall Trail Ride – Organized by the Paul Bunyan Forest Riders Saturday, October 17th, 8:00 am – 6:00 p.m. Signup will open at 8:00 am Sunday, October 18th, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Let’s wrap the 2015 season with the last D23 riding event of the year. We have a permit that allows us to ride the event only trails and we plan to have trails open this year that weren’t clear last year. This is your chance to ride some of the trails that are closed the rest of the year! We’ll be basing our rides out of the Stompin’ Grounds campground, 3.6 miles north of Akeley, MN on highway 64. Look for the blue Stompin’ Grounds signs. This is where we’ll have registration, with trail maps available. Club members will be available to take you on a guided ride if you’d like someone to show you around. There is NO CHARGE for the trail ride. The only requirements to join in are: -Sign an AMA insurance waiver. -Have a DNR Registration Decal on your bike. -Have a USFS approved spark arrestor. -Pass a sound check of 96 db maximum if you are tested. Stompin’ Grounds lodge will be open for lunch and dinner all weekend. Saturday evening we’ll be hosting a pot luck party at the campground so we can hang out and socialize. The club will be supplying hamburgers. Please join us whether you bring a dish to share or not. Camping: You will have to pay a camping fee if you chose to stay at Stompin’ Grounds. The fee will vary depending on how you are camping. Call Steve and Connie at (218) 652-2964 or Toll Free at (800) 725-1579 to reserve a campsite. Another option is to camp for free at the Martineau Trailhead located 6.5 miles north of Akeley, MN on highway 64. It is free and primitive, first come first served. Or, you can just show up and ride for the day. If you have any questions call Tom at 218-866-0405 or Steven at 320-224-9963. We hope to see you there!
  7. Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good tracks to ride at near Stillwater Minnesota. I have looked but not found any threads about this yet so if there is a link to that would be great too. Thanks for your time.
  8. This is from JEB Bad news, folks. I just got a call from the Razorback Riders board and they have decided to call off Wudi this year. They are concerned that the trails are too wet right now, and the forecast does not show them having much drying time between now and the event. I was blindsided by this and only got wind of it this afternoon, so am as disappointed as I'm sure everyone else is. I was getting so pumped about the event starting soon. But after 16 years of memorable events, there will be no Wudi this year. I apologize to everyone that has scheduled vacation and done a lot of prep work to come to the event. I know from when I lived in MN and was coming to these rides instead of hosting them, how much time and effort (and anticipation to go riding!) is spent getting ready. We'll miss seeing everyone and hope to re-group for next year. Again, I'm very sorry to be delivering this news.
  9. Called around a few of the usual local moto places, no luck and no suggestions. Anywhere I can take my Sachs shock to get a charge in the Twin Cities?
  10. I am wondering if the trails here are any good for quads first off and some in our group have dirt bikes would they like it there? also are there enough trails so that we could ride together for the weekend and not seperate because of vehicle type?
  11. I'm trying to plan some summer activities... Is anyone aware that any DS rides in Mn. have rental bikes available? Also, on any DS rides, is there ever a "clean-up" vehicle that follows the bikes and could haul out a broken bike (or injured rider) if the situation dictates it? Thanks.
  12. With the MN gov't shut down the 54th running of the Mora Enduro is in jeopardy. The Norsemen club is doing all it can in order to make this Enduro happen but it all is in the hands of the politicians. 😏 Check the ARMCA forum for updates. http://www.armca.org/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=18299&posts=10
  13. Anyone ever pay to ride their? My son wants to start riding a little MX to see if he likes it. This track is about 20 min. from our cabin. Just wondering if this would be a good place for him to practice and learn or will it be over his head to start.
  14. With the state being shut down the DNR web site is no longer available. Does anyone know if the single track is open (or the whole park for that matter)? I've been out of town and out of the loop on this stuff.
  15. Checked their website and they are focusing on four wheels (cars) this year instead of offering MX. No huge loss, but it was convenient!
  16. I've been fairly obsessed with this bike for the last few years but especially since they went to a 5 speed, changed the frame etc in 2010. Now, with a new bike in '11 I really am curious as to what these bikes are like. I never see them though and have never ridden one. I really want to but it seems like the only way to do so is to throw a fist full of $100's at the dealer - no thanks. Any of you MN boys riding/racing/loving these bikes? Any problems? Any thing that stands out for better or worse vs. a Japanese bike? (besides the button) How would you like the chance to compare your steed to a "pristine" '06 CRF450R? 👍
  17. hey, people like Shagger, or anybody who has done this; if you're on a 250F-like bike, seriously how many gas stops do you need? I guess this upcoming Huntersville ride has 20 miles or so between gas stops. Doesn't it seem like you could get more mileage than that? I don't know, I've never done anything like that. http://www.armca.org/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=18094 They say to bring two gas cans, I don't get that at all. Seriously I'm going to burn through three tanks of gas in one day?!? ...and what's this "gas trailer" they speak of? thanks for any help
  18. Hey guys, I just got back from So. Cal a few weeks ago and finally got my bike running. I got into riding while out there and after coming back to MN I have no idea where I can go riding. I checked out the Where to Ride section of the forum but all the spots are a pretty long distance away from where I live which is in Lino Lakes. My parents have a little land up north but it's about 2 hours away and with work I just don't have the time to get up there. The So. Cal desert spoiled me, I used to be able to just jump on the bike right out of the garage and ride for miles, now I don't know what to do with myself. Anybody know some hidden spots around the northern suburbs. I'm basiclly just looking for some trails or other off-road stuff. Never been on a track in my life. Any Help would be great, I really wanna get back on the bike:ride:
  19. thinking of heading up to open practice at Staples on Saturday; if you are planning on going, stop by and say hey!

  22. Hows everyone doin? Been a long time, hoping to be moving back to MN by next summer and gettin another bike! Its been about 2 years now... Hence why I havent been posting on here. Whats the scoop?!
  23. If you wanted to know what Meadow Valley was like, and couldn't find many helmet cams, here is another one. This was from about a month ago and takes you around the whole track. Honestly, one of the funnest places around, and keeps it fun around the ENTIRE track. Check it out, make sure to click on the HD version, a little better. http://vimeo.com/28670865
  24. Well kinda-sorta...not really... Because Xcel Energy is in the process of a background investigation on me [for employment @ Prairie Island Nuke], and my present employer is (painfully?) aware of it, I am opting out of signing up for next class at Excelsior College. So, I have 8 weeks before next semester starts (classes are 8 or 16 weeks long). (As of now, employer is picking up tab $$$ although I am STILL paying off First Semester of $3500.00). I wrapped up my Vietnam History class final exam last night at 10:15pm...🙂 If any of you want to REALLY know about this war, The Vietnam Wars 1945-1990 - Gettleman/Franklin/Young and Vietnam & America - Young, Marilyn are two of the books we used. The class really OPENED UP MY EYES, instead of listening to the political propoganda B/S that dominates this war. Bottom line is the Vietnamese are happier now than they have ever been (there have been times that they had their independence, but some country always seems to want to invade them [Mongolia, China, Japan, France, USA] ). So, for the next eight weeks, I need to: Ride my jet-ski ride my CRF w/ Matt assemble my WR FINALLY, and sell it hopefully assemble my TV / entertainment center stand replace the rear spindle assembly on Altima troubleshoot Son's desktop PC (mainboard / hardware issues) possibly relocate to Redwing area for Xcel Energy and Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant (~ 2 weeks from today) And continue to work 10:30pm to 7am Monday night thru Saturday morning (which makes EVERYTHING difficult - I am NOT a permanent 8hr nightshift person...) I am starting out my morning watching Southwick 450 (fell asleep last night trying to watch it on DVR) and having my second cup of morning elixir-of-life [coffee] 🙂
  25. I noticed that nobody has been doing trials heads ups. So I'm going to give it a try. Link to event locations.
