Hey guys, so I'm currently searching for a dirt bike or dual sport for my girlfriend so she can come riding with me this summer and I was hoping someone on here might have some insight. She's 5'1" which is the first of our hurdles, although she's got pretty long legs for her height and she's athletic so if we can find her a reasonably short bike i think she'll be able to handle it. This'll be her first bike, and the extent of her riding is on the back of my ducati, but shes a quick learner and I'm hoping to get her out on a family friend's wife's crf230 (that he lowered it for her) in the next few weeks for a lesson so she can get the basics down. Whatever bike we get I'll probably end up shaving the seat down just to make it that much easier. The other big limiting factor is money. We'll save up as much as we can but our budget is probably somewhere in the $1000-$1500 range. I know that doesn't leave us with a whole lot of options so we don't need anything fancy, just functional. For reference she can comfortably sit on my ducati monster that has a seat height of 30.3 inches and is pretty wide. Anyway, if anybody has any helpful ideas of bikes that might work, mods to make things easier, or just general riding tips for shorter riders, it's all appreciated! Thanks TT

Hey TT, so I recently went through my xr400 and gave it a bit of the ktm style that i'm a big fan of . The idea at the time was to fix it up and sell it while it was still pretty, but with the season coming to an end without any satisfactory offers, it's looking like I'll be keeping the xr through the winter. Recently, however, I've been struck with inspiration to build a scrambler and people seem to like the xr as a base for these. I'm thinking I could offload the aloop kit and plastics to offset a bit of the price and make myself a nice vintage scrambler. Here are a few pictures of my influences. So here are the questions; have any of you guys build a scrambler like this before? If so are there any specific parts that you would recommend? Any to avoid? General thoughts or impressions? If i do end up going through with the build ill be sure to keep the thread updated. Thanks!

I'll be in Manchester, NH for a month starting next week and was debating whether or not to bring the bike. Can anyone tell me if there are any decent (intermediate or better) trails within an hour or two of Manchester? Thanks, -Bob

So I am relatively new to dirtbiking and New Hampshire (been here less than a year). I just bought my first bike a WR 250 F about a month ago, but I dont really know of any places to go riding or other riders around the area. Looking for people to go riding with and maybe to show me the ropes a little bit. I live in the Rochester/Farmington area, but I can haul my bike anywhere else if need be. Hit me up.

I see they dropped off a few race schedules and no answer at the track... anyone know what's up?

Not sure if any of you have been to MX101,but a friend of mine and I have just taken over the sales and promo positions. We would like your opinions on the track.Good or bad. We are planning improvements daily. The kids track has just been redone now it is more of a mini SX track . They have added a small endurocross track and a 1/2 mile woods loop. The dirt has improved greatly on the mx track and a large track expansion is slated for this season.Bringing the total distance to 1 1/2 miles. A track wide PA system is also in the works. We are looking for more ideas so please respond.

Hello, I'm going to mx101 tomorrow and I've never been before. What is the track like? I watched a few videos on YouTube and it looks flat and fast and like I can handle the jumps. Is it sandy?

How is Jericho State park?? A coworker goes up every year on his quad for the Jericho atv festival and says it’s awesome. BUT if the trails are more dirt roads than trails that would be appealing on a dirt bike, it may not be worth the 3hr drive. Who has been there? Is it a cool place to ride?

Hi all- I've found the Alton trail system maintained by the Durham ATV club, but does anyone know any other riding areas near Ossipee, NH? Would like to take my CRF230f out on the trails. Also- aside from a payment, what is needed to register an off road vehicle within NH? Is a Certificate of Origin enough? Just a personal ID ok?

Do they check for health insurance or what?

On a forum somewhere I had found a link giving details about how as a out of state resident you can allegedly take any Dirtbike and have it registered in NH with street plates. It did state the bike must have street tires, head light, tail light, and horn. Also I dont think you needed the title either....? If this is true or not, I have no idea. On that link there was also a phone number to a registry hot line that explained how to do this. Can anyone shed some light on this? My ultimate goal is to find this link again and call that number. If anyone can help that woul be great.
