  1. Who is attending the Nat'ls this year. I am already signed up to 4 of the first 5 Nat'l Enduros. I am on row 15 at Sumter. I won't be attending Texas because of a conflict with a AHRMA 2-Day ISDT Qualifier and being that I was Classic Expert Class Champion and my Team was the overall Team Champions for the year I will be attending. I will be riding a different bike this year instead of my beloved Hodaka. Got to spread the love you know. Dwight
  2. Searched... and couldn't find an answer on TT and have been doing some checking on the AMA Website. My 14 year old son is interested in racing a Hare Scramble race. Going by the size of his bike (03 YAM WR-250) I don't think he is elgible to compete in an AMA sanctioned Hare Scramble youth race. I believe the 4 stroke limit is 150cc and 125cc for 2 Strokes. Being 14, he is elgible to race in the Amateur (Adult race) in a class suited for his level - His is definately a beginner class or C-Class rider at best and I really don't think he has the skill set for an adult course nor would I want him getting run over by Pros & much faster adult riders while getting lapped. He belongs on a youth Hare Scramble course and in a youth race regardless if he was on a 125 2-Stroke, 150f or 250f. What I don't understand is that the AMA rule quote says: "The minimum age for amateur riders is 12-years. In all off-road events, a rider must be 14-years or older to ride motorcycles above 250cc. The age of the rider is determined as of the date of the event, except in youth competition" If I am reading the quote above correctly, a youth rider 12 and above can race in a non-youth (Adult) AMA Hare Scramble race but has to be 14 to race a motorcycle above a 250. The largest 4-Stroke I have seen at an AMA Hare Scramble youth event is a 150f. The largest 2-stroke has been a 125. It seems that given my son is 14 and is riding a 250f, he is between a rock and hard place (Been there many times myself ) and can't race his 250f in a youth class on a youth course (Where he belongs) and has to race in a class with Pros & adults on a larger and more difficult course. I hope I am not mudding up the water. I have asked several people at several different AMA races and have gotten several different answers. Does anyone know the details on this and if I am correct on the AMA rules? I was really hoping he could race his WR-250f in a youth class or school boy class where he belongs but going by the rules, his bike is too big and he has to race in an adult amatuer class. For non AMA sanctioned off-road events, this is not a problem. Likewise if this was an AMA Motocross event, he would be fine on a 250f in the 14-16 school boy class. If all the above is true, do I have to go purchase my son a 150f or a 125 2-stroke for him to compete in an AMA youth hare scramble race? PS. I appologize if this should have been posted in the General Forum versus the Off-Road pro-racing...
  3. Interesting! There's a few non-enduro, big-name entries and some enduro heros from the past that are going to run the Upland National Enduro. Check it out: http://www.muddobbersmc.org/images/2009Enduro/Pre_Entries0001.pdf

  10. Just got my Cycle News today and was reading about the Sumter Nat. enduro and there's something that is confusing to me in the article. I thought that they had all went to the restart format. If I understand this correctly that means no timekeeping or maintaining certain speed averages. You have transfer sections which gets from one timed section to the next and then once you start the timed section it's as fast you can go until you get to the end and then it's back to a transfer section which is not timed. My question is in the article they talk about the first test was 7 miles with a 30 mph average. And then they the next test was 11 miles at 24 mph. And then it says the speed was bumped back up to 30 for the 4th and longest of the day. I guess my confussion is with the restart format where do the different speed averages come in to play. Can someone help me to understand.🙂
  11. Who is going ? I am really looking forward to this event. I hope my CRF230F is going to be in it's own in the tight Ga. woods. Dwight
  12. Did KTM cut him back or did he get injured? He just stopped racing H & H in April.....

  15. raced Blackwater 100 in Ninja Turtle costume in early '90?
  16. A friend and I are riding a area very similar to the Kempfer ranch just up the road towards St. Cloud. Lot's of sand, quasi single track, mud, and fast trails. We are not racers but could hold our own in a adult C class (CRF 450 and KTM 300). This is on private land and requires a key to get in. We will be riding tomorrow morning at 9 am until about 1:30. If you are on a bike and interested PM me. MarkC 😏
  17. It starts tomorrow. Anyone going????

  20. Hello, I have been racing moto all my life, and am burnt out, and need a change of pace. So a friend and I want to try out a GNCC race. My questions are.. with my bike currently setup for outdoor moto. . what changes to the bike will I need to make, and what else will I need? Camel back? some type of timer? Slipper clutch? steeriing stabilizer? Thanks in advance!
  21. It seems like the last one I bought was like $50 or so. It looks like they are around $90 now. Is that right or am I stoned?
  22. Skies were clear and it was a little warm at Round 5 of the AMA/Rekluse National Enduro Series in Westpoint, Tennessee hosted by NATRA. A good mix of trail from open and fast, to tight and technical made this a round a tough event. KTM teammates Bobbitt and Lafferty finished first and second respectively, and Jason Raines on a Yamaha filled out the podium. Nick Fahringer finished 4th on a Husaberg while Brad Bakken finished 5th on his KTM. Kawasaki rider Wally Palmer, who had been riding up in the top 3 earlier in the day, finished 6th. 23. Cycle News had a nice piece with Bobbitt in their ROTY issue. However, they asked him a question about how he liked the new format and his reply was something along the lines that he liked the new format and that with the new rule changes for 2009 National Enduros will become more like a race and less of a strategy game. Does anybody know specifically what rules were changed for 2009?
  24. MURRIETA, Calif. – KTM Motorsports has officially announced its FMF KTM Factory Racing Team lineup for 2017, showcasing a versatile lineup of the nation’s best offroad racers. The six-rider roster includes Taylor Robert, Kailub Russell, Kacy Martinez, Russell Bobbitt, Cody Webb and Ivan Ramirez – all of which are returning from the 2016 season. TAYLOR ROBERT Shifting gears from his previous season in the World EnduroGP, Robert will contest the AMA National Hare & Hound Championship this season, as well as WORCS and select extreme enduro events across the globe. For this, Robert will race aboard the KTM 450 XC-F. Coming off a successful run at the 2016 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), the ISDE Overall Individual Winner and leading the U.S. Trophy Team to its first-ever Gold Medal, Robert enters the 2017 season with an all-new set of championship-winning goals. KAILUB RUSSELL Russell, a four-time AMA Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC) Champion, will return to the team’s lineup following an announcement earlier this year detailing a career-contract with the team. Aboard the championship-proven KTM 350 XC-F, Russell will attempt to become the winningest GNCC racer in series history as he enters the 2017 season only seven wins away from Scott Summers in the top position. Additionally, the 2015 AMA National Enduro Champion will return to the series full time after missing out on the opportunity to defend his title last season due to injury. Russell will compete on a KTM 250 XC-F for the National Enduro Series. KACY MARTINEZ With multiple national championships under her belt ranging from coast to coast, Martinez has proven her versatility in the offroad world as a two-time GNCC Champion, three-time WORCS Champion, X-Games Women’s EnduroX Gold Medal and two AMA Western Hare Scramble championships. Martinez is expanding her horizons in 2017 to compete full-time in the AMA National Hare & Hound Series, as well as the AMA EnduroCross Series, where she will pilot a KTM 250 XC-F in pursuit of two first-time offroad titles. RUSSELL BOBBITT Five-time AMA National Enduro Champion Russell Bobbitt will return to the lineup in 2017 to defend his title aboard the KTM 250 XC-F. Additionally, Bobbitt will compete in the full GNCC Series for the first time ever as he continues to prepare to become a serious contender in the series. CODY WEBB The two-time AMA EnduroCross Champion returns for his second season with the FMF KTM Factory Racing Team. Webb, who finished a close 2nd in 2016, will pilot the KTM 350 EXC-F in the EnduroCross Series as he looks to reclaim the title in 2017. Webb will also compete in select extreme enduro events aboard the KTM 300 XC throughout the season. IVAN RAMIREZ Ramirez will return to the lineup in 2017 to compete aboard the KTM 450 X-F in both the AMA National Hare & Hound Series and WORCS. The 2015 AMA National Hare & Hound Champion will look to reclaim the No. 1 plate after battling back from injury during the last season. With championship-proven equipment and riders on board, the FMF KTM Factory Racing Team is pleased to announce the addition of multi-time offroad champion Charlie Mullins as the exclusive trainer for its riders. Mullins, who recently retired from racing due to ongoing wrist injuries, will work under the umbrella of Aldon Baker to provide a championship-winning program for the offroad racing team. Team Manager Antti Kallonen: “The 2016 season was very successful as the team captured five major offroad championships and several other big moments throughout the season. With Charlie Mullins staying on as the team’s exclusive trainer, we will have the same solid group once again and we’re looking forward to going after even more championships in 2017.”
