PRODUCT DESCRIPTION OEM Suzuki seal retainer for the DR650. Simple insurance against your countershaft seal popping out of its bore. This is not a common problem but for those folks who have had the seal come out it has proven to be quite difficult to get it to stay in place. This steel retainer eliminates any possibility of the seal coming out and ruining your day by coating your rear tire with oil.
  4. Hey Guys, I got a DR 650 about 2 months ago, and ever since I've had it it has gotten terrible mpg (best 34 mpg, worst 30 mpg) When I got it, it was a bone stock 06 DR650 with 18,000 miles on it (very clean). At first I noticed an oil leak from the infamous cam chain tensioner gasket, which I promptly replaced. After that I changed spark plugs (ngk cr9ek), new air fliter (twin air), and added a jet kit (pro cycle w/ air box mod). Before the procycle jet kit I had to switch to reserve consistently at 88 to 91 miles on the trip meter. I just got done tuning the carb with jet kit, and I had to switch over to reserve at 73 miles. The carb is tuned with the 155 procycle/mikuni main jet (or the 165 for you dynojet guys) on the 5th notch of the procycle needle jet, counting from the top down. I know it sounds a little rich, but it's what the engine liked. Also when I got the bike it never needed to be choked, even when it was 35 degrees out, just two hits of the starter and I cranked right up. The OEM choke cable was seized up and would not move, so when I put the procycle jet kit on, I replaced it with a knob choke, which got it starting up like a normal engine, ie) need choke when cold. I have replaced the o rings on the carb float, and set to proper float height, along with all new carb gaskets. I will say though with all the jetting and new toy syndrome I have been driving the bike like a bat out of hell and have had long idles to warm up engine for jetting purposes, but it is hard to believe that that could have that much of an effect on my mpg. Any idea what could be causing this terrible gas mileage? It runs real strong, but something has got to be going on considering the mpgs this bike is supposed to be getting. Thanks all, this site members have helped me get at least this far with diagnosing.... I'm thinking dragging brake pad or bad fuel petcock. I don't think it's leaking gas through the stump into the oil, or else it would be way too full. Please help...I need to get better gas milage than a 4 door sedan 👎

GENERAL INFORMATION Easy to install! Attaches to base of standard oil filter This powerful six point magnet traps abrasive hard metal particles down to 1 micron. Standard oil filters only trap particles down to 20 microns, leaving behind the most harmful particles to circulate through your engine Reduce wear, and significantly increase your engine life!
  6. Hello ThumpTalk Crew! I picked up a DR650 with most mods already done to it and it's awesome! Living at 7000' I figured I should go ahead and jet it properly and why not get some better throttle response at the same time, so I put a ProCycle Jet kit into the carb Bike has: - Stock header pipe with weld ground down - FMF Q4 slip on exhaust - Hole cut in air box according to the diagram supplied by ProCycle - ProCycle Jet Kit (Adjustable Mix Screw, needle, jet) - Uni Air Filter - Fresh oil - Fresh gas Current Carb Setup: - Main Jet 155 - Needle set at 3rd from top - Mix Screw 1.5 turns out - Float height measures to the float bowl seam using the drain & tube method - Slide is not modified - Slide spring is not modified I'm well aware that the stock carb can do elevation changes due to it's stock lean settings, but I like a little more spice when I'm ripping around town and on the trail. I know the pig wont breath fire and I really don't need it to. Just hoping to find where the big and myself are happy and getting what we need. My goal is to have the bike happy to loft the front wheel when asked politely and have a little better throttle response. I had the 150 main jet in the bike, but it wanted to bog down right after shifting for a second then catch up to itself and start hauling. In neutral the bike would rev up happily even when given heaps of gas. I changed the needle to the third clip spot, but didn't notice a difference. The issue was worse with 145 jet and better with the 155 jet which surprised me as I would have thought that it would be too rich at that point. The bike is happy to lift the front wheel in first gear, but requires some body language (standing and priming the front forks) and not nearly as happy to do it in second gear. I was curious if any of you have a similar setup and what your jetting looks like with the ProCycle kit? Thoughts? Also didn't find a great post on the PorCycle kit at altitude, so I figured the community may benefit from this as well. Thanks for being awesome folks to muck around this stuff with.
