Hey guys, anyone wanna Meetup somewhere between hollister up to south cow? I'm honestly looking for riding partners for mid week rides during morning times. I've been to south cow, Knoxville and each time I'm the only one out there and it's kindof scary with noone to help if something happens.. Hey guys, just grabbed a flat track bike and looking for a place to ride. I know Milestone has a flat track that is open Wed/Sun 10-4. Perris raceway only shows race events and race practice which I can't do at my skill level. Where else can I go and get some beginner level practice in? I am looking near Greater Los Angeles area.

Hi Guys, My son and I got into dirt biking this year and have been hitting Hungry Valley a lot. We have hit all of Hungry Valley's trails except for Ravens Ridge and Gorman Trail. I know that these black diamond ratings are BS, and these trails are basically groomed in the park. We're getting a little bored running the same trails. Anyway, we were thinking about venturing out into the forest on Tejon or Frazier trail, but I'm not sure if those trails are too rough for a little KX65. What do you guys think, bad idea? I'd like to find some real single track that doesn't have too much gnar. He's got about 35 hours of seat time and I have about 20. I stalled on rutted hill climb last week and got roosted as he passed me without thinking twice:). Thanks, Chris

Hi everybody, been a minute since I've been on here. Looking for a little help at the moment. Looking at bike project right now and want to run the VIN to check for back fees to see if it's out of the system or maybe even stolen. I have found this link previously and it is free through the DMV website if it is still in existence that is. Because I can no longer find it. If anybody can please be of any help I need this for right now to check a bike as well as for future reference. If someone can please provide a link quickly that would be awesome! So I am interested in seeing what it takes to enter. I have researched their website and tried emailing with no response using the contact us link. Anyone know about this grand Prix? Is it something a never raced before 40+yr old guy can enter with his new FE350 and have fun? Been riding dirt bikes since I was 9yrs old but never raced. It interests me because it is in my backyard but I cant really find out if it is appropriate for me and how to get involved. Any help would be appreciated... If you can offer it. Website says next one is in November 7,8 and 9th.

I haven’t been to jawbone canyon since I was a kid in early 2000s. I’ve heard all the trails are blocked off now, is this true or is it still a legit trail riding Mecca and worth driving 7 hours to for a multi day riding trip? Thanks

I didn't see any pre-race discussion on this annual carnage-fest, but here's a tiny clip of "Spectator Hill" - a granite section that makes you feel like you're at Erzberg. I'll post a race highlight video later this week. Spoiler alert, it's rocks, rocks and more rocks. As you can see, the conditions were perfect. I'm racing B Super Senior (50+) on a 2018 Husky TX300. I put one of those Gekko V33 tires on, and it made me look like a much better rider than I am.

No electricity, no gas, no food! I saw a line at a gas station in Nevada city a mile long! I avoided a blocked highway 49 because of a mile long line at an another gas station! well i got my new fmf silencer for the two stroke. what piece of shit. sorry to see fmf cheap out so bad. used to be a nice piece. same model "turbinecore2" new version should be called something else. doesn't even fit. pics coming..

Just thought I'd write up this report from a trailride a couple weeks ago since it was a first for me. I was riding alone on a trail I know very well but haven't ridden in a year. It was California singletrack on a side of a canyon and the past winter was a wet one so the grass had grown pretty high. I was somewhere between second and third gearish and coming up to a left bend in the trail. I didn't have the best line and saw I was coming up on a rock about a foot tall hidden in the grass and braced for impact presumably to roll over top of it. Well, turned out the rock was 90 degree wall type and the a little too tall and so the back end of the bike pitched me off. When I came off it felt a little weird like it was too soft. The bike fell off the trail and down the slop about 4 feet with the front pointing downhill. After gathering myself up and trying to lift the bike, the right handlebar (throttle) had snapped off. My bars are twinwalls with the crossbar and just to the right of the right side bracket that holds the cross bar was where the bar cleanly snapped. Wow is it hard to maneuver a bike with half a handlebar, try it. At the time I wasn't sure but it turned out the be easier to roll the bike downhill another 10 feet to a flattish ledge, that looked like it had a more gentle angle back up to the trail by careful off camber sidehilling and some luck. What I learned meanwhile was the electric starter button wires were broken. I took the seat off to disconnect the battery because the wires kept touching and turning the starter while I was trying to fix and fumble with the bike. The only idea I had was to disassemble the crossbar and use the right side bracket to clamp the broken bar back together as a kind of bandaid. Fortunately I ride with tools and it was easy to use a 5 mm hex to get that done. The bar broke in such a was that there as no ragged edge or burrs and so the two broken ends fit back together snugly and the knuckle bracket slid over the top of them and then I tightened that down like all heck. This turned out to work like a charm. I had to use the kickstarter to get the bike started and then I was able to sidehill it up and back onto the trail as hoped. I rode back to the truck and those 14 miles were very gentle and easy but there were no more problems along the way. My bike is an '05 450X and the bars were probably what originally came on the bike so they were nearly 15 years old. And probably dropping the bike a thousand times the bars had gradually fatigued. If the bars were oversized protapers and they snapped, I think I would have had to walk out without the bike. I didn't take the time to photoshoot the incident but took one pic as a 'there is a god' and then a couple pics when I got back home of the breakage and the fix. I put another pair of twinwalls onto the bike just because I was able to do this with them!

Spent the day out with KC Powersports and another like minded Beta rider (not sure if he wants to be named) out at Corral Canyon OHV. Be advised, if you ride here, make sure you're legal. Rangers showed up shortly after we parked and checked registration as well as spark arrestors. Enjoy the huffing/puffing, occassional colorful language, snake attack and sweet trails.

Hello, New to Thumpertalk 🙂. A few friends and myself would like to do a 1-2 night ride on OHV trails or fire roads or logging trails. We are in the Sacramento area and willing to travel up to 4 hours to a staging area. We have been stumped to many times trying fire trails to have them gated off or closed.
