  1. Hey everyone ? so I just bought two brand new 2023 Kawasaki‘s. One is a 110 R and the other one is a 110 RL. I went to go start them for the first time and they had problems starting. It’s electric start. Should fire up quick but took like 7 to 10 times and any time it would finally start to idle the second you hit the gas it would either bog or completely die. The place I got it from came and picked them up and said that when the bikes come straight from factory Kawasaki, they glue the carb plug… And that they have to scrape all the glue out because the elevation here in Ohio is different. So they did some work on it and brought it back to me seeings how they said they rushed doing them when we bought them because they were closing. Still having the same exact problem. Noticed it when they dropped it off a little bit after “fixing them” but figured they were confident enough to bring it back to me so I assumed maybe it just needed warmed up a bit since I only started it really quick to make sure they at least started. It’s a warm day out so since we don’t have our truck back (in the shop) and we can’t take the bikes out to break them in… I got antsy and really wanted to just hear them. You know lol give me a little adrenaline just by hearing the sound if I couldn’t ride right now… But took about 7 to 10 tries to start up again… and once we finally got them idling, whenever we would hit the gas a little (on both bikes), you know, just to hear the throttle braap a little.. it would bog and or bog, then die… Just like the first time before they picked them up. Wondering if anyone else is having these issues with literally BRAND NEW 2023 klx110’s… There are five year olds on YouTube that hit the electric start for a split second once and their bikes fire right up, no problem when twisting the throttle, either a little bit or a lot… But just weird both of our bikes are doing it… not something I have enjoyed spending over seven grand on so far esp considering the fact I haven’t even ridden them ? would love any information you guys know. Obviously, it’s a carb issue… Or so I think. Sounds the same as when I had to clean the carb from a vintage 70’s Suzuki 50 I use to have.. I just refuse to touch these bikes because 1) they were just wheeled out the shop, 2) they are under warranty and 3) they are literally brand newwww ? and no one should have to spend time trying to fix brand new bikes… I also haven’t been able to find anywhere about Kawasaki gluing the carb plugs due to emissions? I would be curious if anyone else knows about that as well whether you are just a customer or owner of a shop or work on these bikes (2023) in general. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hey guys. I took apart my 2018 KLX 110L and tried putting the throttle cable back together and cannot for the life of me figure out how to reinstall the throttle cable assembly going into the carburetor. Specifically how the small “seat spring” holds the pin in? See pictures for reference
  3. just installed a 143 bigbore kit on my 2014 klx110l started right up but will idle for a second or so without choke but runs fairly ok with choke on, timing is in spec and getting good spark
  4. Hi guys, I just traded my buddy for a klx 110 that needs a new needle valve, I’m not exactly sure what year it is tho I think it’s 2017 but I don’t know. So my question is can I order a needle valve for a 17 and have the bike be a 16 I just want it to fit lol. thanks.
  5. Hello, I'd just like to know if there's going to be a 2022 model on the klx300r? Does anyone know yet, and if there is, is there gonna be any major differences? Thanks
  6. Hey fellas, I have an 05 klx 110 with a 143bbk, vm26, and the bbr performance cam, and pancake filter, stock exhaust for now, my question is I just put the carb on it and and I was expecting some serious pull from the bike. And I dont feel like there is. I'm not sure if I'm expecting to much or something is wrong. Any help would be awesome thanks guys.
  7. Hello, I recently picked up a 2021 KLX300 Supermoto for my wife to learn to ride and she's having a blast. Im interested in buying a wheel/tire set more for offroad when my buddy's take their bikes trail riding. Has anyone done the conversion from a supermoto and if you could let me know what type of wheel to search for? will i need different sprockets? Thanks, any help appreciated.
  8. I'm beginning to consider a KLX300 - Just wanted to know if Kawasaki Bikes are reliable or not and how long they'd usually last - Can someone help? I'd also like to know if there easy to maintain and how often you'd have to maintain the bike. Thanks.
  9. I'm looking at getting into riding again. I did it for a summer about 6 yrs ago and I've been dieing to get into it ever since. Although I am having troubles making a decision on which bike due to my size. I am almost 29. And I'm 5'4 125lbs. I'm a small guy for sure. I don't need to worry about "growing out" of a bike, although that might change with experience. I've been trying to do alot of research. And going into shops and sitting on bikes but I wanted to ask more experienced riders that were close to my size (that aren't 12 yrs old). I was thinking either a KLX140L.. or should I go with a CRF 125fb or try and kill myself with a CRF230f? Thoughts? Budget new or used. Trying to keep it under 4-5k. Thanks
  10. Hi all. I’m fairly experienced at working with engines, but that being said, every engine has its own specific issues... I recently purchased a new to me trail bike. A 1995 klx250. That looked to be in decent shape. Other than some popping on decel and at idle”what little it would idle” .. which I chocked up to a dirty carb. After getting it home and doing some more research.. I realized that this bike has had some “Stroker” mods done. The P.O installed a Stroker manual decomp lever, and hot start plunger routed from the air box to a port on the intake. And swapped the carb with a minkuni tm33 pumper carb, with a 142.5 main and 42.5 pilot .. I cleaned the carb checked the spark plug and have managed to get the bike running but the idle is very high and uneven and it is still Popping and idles rough ... when I try to turn down the idle adjustment to wear it should be it dies. In my experience I would say vacuum leak but I can’t seem to locate one anywere round the carb...any ideas? ... also I have the air/fuel screw turned out about 2 1/4 turns. Any one else had this issue with these mods. Any trouble areas to check out ? Generally I would just keep tinkering, but I haven’t got a lot of time to spend on it, so thought maybe someone would have some ideas. bike specs cyl250cc, comp 165psi., carb: tm33 pumper with 142.5 main and 42.5 pilot. Air screw about 2 turns out. With an open air box lid and a k&n filter
  11. Check out this gnarly ass pitter race hosted by Travis pastrana. One of the best ones I’ve seen yet on their page just skip the stupid ads http://aspedrom.com/60p
  12. I have a 2009 klx 110 with a totaled engine and I'm wondering what type of engine I could replace it with. I've searched but only found engines for Honda crf 50's and cant find any that would hook up to a klx 110 frame. And before you say fix the current motor, the transmission is garbage, engine blew up so it also needs a top end rebuild, and both the engine cases have been broken with pieces missing. This happened because the slot where the Kickstarter shaft went into the case broke inside the engine and someone continued to run it while a chunk of the engine case was bouncing around inside. Also I'm wondering if they sell a kit where I could mount brackets on the frame to put a motor made for the Honda engines.
  13. So I know there is a shortage on 110s but does anyone know why? My local Motorsports dealer said they won’t have any until august of next year
  14. I’m looking for a pit bike and for some reason I am drawn to the klx110. I found an 07 that is missing the rear fender and idk how beat it is but what do you think it is worth? He has it listed for $1,450. In 07, the msrp was only $1,699 so I can’t se it being worth too much.
  15. Hey y’all, Does anyone know what the clutch stack and clutch plates thickness and clutch spring Lengths are? Cannot find this info anywhere... I am trying to figure out if my plates are worn or not... Basically - my bike barely moves when I put the bike in gear. Not getting any power to the rear wheel whatsoever. The bike idles and revs fine, it just won’t engage to get any acceleration. I can only assume this could be toasted plates as I had to work like a dog to get the bike out of what I thought was a “small, shallow” mud puddle. Thanks in advance!!
  16. Hello Thumper talk, I'm new to the forum so my apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I'm a hobbyist bike mechanic and I've got decent experience rebuilding engines 4 stoke and 2 stroke. My most recent project is a 1996 klx250r with a 290cc big bore and converted to street with a baja designs kit. The bike has brand new cylinder, piston, rings, cam chain, and valve guide seals. The problem I'm having is getting the street electrics working. I fixed an xr250 with an identical baja designs dual sport kit so I'm at least someone experienced with them. I've been able to get the head light and tail light/brake light to work off of the battery but the real problem is getting the battery to charge off the rectifier/regulator(box with 2 yellow, 1 black, and 1 red wires). I checked the voltage coming straight out of the rectifier/regulator and it was about 13 - 14 volts when the throttle is opened up. But when I connect the tail light or head light directly to the reg/rec they don't light up. I've checked the resistance across the two yellow wires coming out of the stator and it gives me about .8 ohms. Another strange thing is that when I rig up and electronics to power the head light and tail light then start the bike neither of the lights will turn on. I'll take some photos of all the electronics soon to make things more clear to understand. Am I missing something obvious? Am I doing something completely wrong? probably. Any help and or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  17. im looking to buy a 2007 110. the guy i pan to buy it from said it is locking up. i thought it would need a top end jug and piston and rings. so i gave him a call and he said it runs when cold and it does not smoke. so the rings most be good. and then he says it stalls and bogs out and he cant start it unless he lets it sit until it is cold. what is this bikes problem. i had a ttr 125 that ran great for 15 min and then bog out and would not start. the gas cap did not have a hole in it it had been rusted shut so i cleaned it and the bike ran great for hours no problems. could this bike have a similar problem.
  18. Hello, I am new to forums so bare with me.. I am looking at installing a Barrett KLX250 Full Exhaust System on my 1994 KLX250R but Barrett has informed me that they have designed their full exhaust system off of a 1997 KLX250. Both bikes are Australian models. Will I have trouble installing that exhaust?
  19. Hello ! Anyone know where they sell or some tutorial to put a usb charger on the handlebar protector
  20. Does anyone know if a exhaust from a newer klx250 would fit on my 95 recently I bent my header pipe and put a kink in it and cant find anything under 2006
  21. So I’ve got a klx 125 that I’m fixing for someone they told me to get it running so first thing I did check spark plug needs a new one but should be fine for testing purposes then cleaned the jets after this I got it to start but was back firing after deceleration so cleaned the carb again just to make sure jets were clear then it wouldn’t start unless bump started so I made sure fuel air screw’s were adjusted after I thought it had to be mechanical so I checked the valves the exhaust was off a little so I adjusted it and then it started right up again still backfiring so I shut it off and tried to start it again(didn’t start) unless bump started step 3 timing chain??????? I don’t know what to do next so what do you guys think?
  22. Hey guys, I am a new owner of a 2006 KLX 250. Friend just gave it to me, I would never pay for something as gutless as this bike. But, what can be done? For a 4 stroke it has no low end power at all. Is the bike worth dumping money into in the long run? Will sprockets help I heard people were throwing on 13T in the front. Heard about jetting but what jet sizes? I read that a fmf header and pipe and snorkel can be more a problem with too much air??? I saw people throwing on ejk's but I looked them up and they are for 2008-current. Can this bike show any balls? Where can I locate and remove the tampon in this Kawasaki? This bike seems to run and stay pretty damn hot, is that normal?
  23. Hey everyone, we're going to be making a little pit bike mx track in the bush (small jumps and tight corners) and I wondering if a kx65 or ktm sx65 would make a good pit bike or would a klx110 be better? I am a 2 stroke lover but the smallest 2 stroke I've rode is an 85cc and that is too much bike for what I'm looking for. I see alot of klx110s modded and see great reviews on them. Just curious is a 65 2stoke would do just as well. (I'm about 5'8 and 155lbs)
  24. Hello I've got a klx 250s efi the bike is bogging fuel pump seems to be working sits on idle fine but When revving the bike it will hesitate and splutter manage to get a decent little ride earlier but still spluttering realised the pump has no filter could the affect it?
  25. I have a 2009 Klx250sf and am doing some dual sport modifications. I am having trouble removing the front sprocket. I am replacing the front sprocket, rear sprocket and chain. I went up to a 45 rear and kept the front at 14. I am turning the engine over and am unable to loosen it at all. I would have a friend hold the rear break but the rear tire and chain are not on the bike. Any suggestions or do I have to put the bike back together just to hold the rear brake? I am also running into an issue with putting on my barkbuster handguards because the ends of the bars seem to be plugged from the factory. I am tempted to drill out the thin plugs but am unsure what purpose they serve. Otherwise the only other way they would work would be to buy new handguards. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
