  1. Similarly to a thread back in 2014 (listed at the bottom of this post), I received a letter from the NC DMV to surrender my Street Title for my 02 XR400. I bought the bike a few months ago with a clean NC street title. I got it transferred through the DMV with no issues (received a clean street title in my name in the mail), got it inspected and got my tag. I have been riding it around with no issues ever since. Then yesterday I recieved a letter from the DMV that my title is being cancelled and I am to surrender my title to them by mailing it back in. No mention of mailing back my tag or anything else. From the post back in 2014 it seems there is nothing I can really do about this. However I am curious as to if anyone else has had this issue. I am considering ignoring the letter, keeping riding it on my legal tag and then just seeing what happens next year when I take it to get it inspected. My bike is fully street legal, insured, inspected, etc. Anyone have any legal insight on this? Worst case, I mail the title to SD and get it registered there I guess.
  2. Just a big heads up to those of you in Central North Carolina. There is a New ATV / Bike park having a Grand Opening in Linden N.C. Look up - Deep Creek ATV , 2601 Slocomb Road , Linden N.C. Face book page says it opens tomorrow, but says the grand opening is May 4th and 5th. So , do your own research .
  3. Moved here about 9 months ago. I am a crappy slow rider on wr250r looking for people to wait on me to catch up at trails end.
  4. Hello all. I've been spending my riding days at JWTF in Maysville (which is an awesome place), however I'm looking more for trail riding to kind of change things up a bit from MX tracks. Is there anywhere like this near Onslow County that you can legally ride? Thanks.
  5. Does anyone know the story with Silver Creek MX? Is it closed down now? If so why?
  6. Just a shout out to Isaiah at FTI. If anyone needs suspension work done, he is a GREAT guy. High quality work, easy to communicate with and he went above and beyond to accommodate me.
  7. Hey y’all—I’m just starting to get into the real dirt riding stuff. I live in Fairview, NC just east of Asheville. Got a dr350se and and an f800gs, and nothing with 4 wheels. I’m trying to get into the more technical (but still easier side of intermediate) single track type stuff. I love the dr350 in the dirt but it suuuucks on asphalt. F800 is lovely on asphalt but I’m nervous to take it on real trails because of weight/expensiveness. Can y’all recommend some places for me to ride?? Also looking for people to ride with
  8. Any tracks trails around the Charlotte NC area still operating?
  9. I’m a beginner to Mx I’m 25 trying to find people to ride with and hang out. New to the sport.
  10. Looking for street legal/off road enduro riders east of Raleigh. I ride a KTM EXC 500 Thanks,
  11. I live in Jacksonville NC and im wondering if im the only one that rides dirt bikes around here. If anyone else is from my area and wants to ride hit me up.
  12. Hey guys, I used to ride an XR400 for yrs, and recently picked up an 02 and a parts 03 CRF450R. Im no great rider, 54 yrs old, pretty slow, and never raced. Im looking for trails, and some guys to maybe get with once or twice a month for some riding.. I also have a few hundred acres at work so can also offer some riding if interested. Dennis 336-509-4322
  13. Hello, All, Just joined the forum after reading for some time. Appreciate the good information here. I'll be escaping New England's late winter to spend the month of April in the Pinehurst, NC area. Been reading here and elsewhere about the riding available in the general vicinity, including some of the pluses and minuses: Closest are Badin Lake and Uwharrie. These seem to be the same place, but can't quite tell; people seem to speak of them differently sometimes. Next closest is Outback, but I don't see much talk about this from the 2-wheeled crowd. Brown and Brushy seem to be the places that people gravitate to -- about 3 hours to the west of where I'll be. But here is the catch: I am brand new to trail riding! Been riding motorcycles for 20+ years, street riding, then to road racing and track days (raced for quite a while -- in fact at the end of this trip I'll be on track at VIR on the race bike), with a smattering of flat-track type training as well (so appreciate some of the ways that that dirt riding, neutral spine/push the bike down, is different than road course), but I am pure novice off-road and will be treating myself as such. The question: do you think I would be able to find a day or two of riding appropriate for me to start my dirt/trail career (like, start on the bunny slope and progress only when I'm ready) or should I leave the new dirt bike at home in New England? Thanks, Dustin
  14. Anybody have info on what areas are actually still open to ride during the quarantine? I know natl forests are closed. Heard brushy opened for a weekend? Any more details?
  15. Closed until further notice. This virus is starting to take is toll on alot of riding spots now. Will ncmp and the smaller riding parks be next?
  16. I'm going to be heading down south for a few days riding at Kairos, Brown and Brushy Mountains. It'd be great to hook up with some locals who could show me around. Riding a 300 XC, mostly looking for tough singletrack. It looks like Brown Mountain in particular has lots of trail not on the maps. I'll be at Kairos Oct 13-14, and Brown/Brushy Oct 15-17.
  17. I can host 1-3 other riders on my semi-secret trails and killer practice loop. This is deep woods riding in the NC mountains, great practice for HS and Enduro racers. Also, beautiful scenery if you like to slow down and enjoy the view. There's primitive camping spots for weekend trips. No one else up there this time of year. I'm a fast vet B rider/racer, lost my racing bud recently and been riding solo too much. Prefer to ride with someone as fast or faster, but willing to slow down as necessary. Work keeps getting in the way and I'm pretty much only riding weekends these days.
  18. I’m just getting back into riding after about 20 years and recently picked up an 03 CRF450R to have some fun on and possibly hare scramble a little. Being an 03, im having to do quite a bit to get it in good shape to ride. I live in the middle of NC and am currently taking it to the Asheboro Honda dealership to have any work done to it. They seem like a great place and are easy to get to, but wondered if there were any recommendations for other Honda mechanics around Sanford or Greensboro area that may be more reasonably priced than a dealership. Thanks for any recommendations you may have.
  19. Are there any single track trails in Western NC near the Cherokee/Sylva/Bryson City Area?
  20. Who has them and what would you do to allow others to ride it ? Seems easy enough to be truthful. Hard to invite someone to your place to ride that you dont know and trust. But how would you be able to meet others that share your passion.
  21. Planning a trip and only have time to stop at one place...so if you HAD to choose, which mountain would you prefer? I am single track/hare scramble B racer.
  22. Hello all! My name is Wes Woodin an I'm looking to get a group of guys back together to ride. I have just recently gotten back into riding and my 11 year old boy has to! I used to race District 29 back in the day with Hank Moree, Damon Bradshaw etc. I quit riding back in 2012 due to work and now that I work for myself I'm a little more flexible. I've got my boy riding a KLX 110L and I'm riding a 2018 KTM 450SXF. We both are more track lovers and looking for the best place to ride. We used to ride at TNT in Chester, SC, but I think it closed down when Barbra died. I miss that lady!!!! MY QUESTION??? Where is a good place to ride that is like TNT? A place that has different tracks for different skill levels? My boy wants to ride track, but I want to start him off slower, without discouraging him, and also looking for a place that great for me, more Experienced. Wanting to go today, and don't know where to go? Would love to build a great group of guys to ride and fun!!! Thank for your input and I look forward to riding and having fun! You can always call me at 704-400-0344.
  23. Just got a drz400sm this month and looking for some people to ride with. Wondering if there are any supermotos or dual sports here in Gastonia. I saw an SM on Franklin right before I got mine but haven't since.
  24. Hey y'all. We moved from PA to western NC about 2 years ago . We own some property off rt221 near Marion/Rutherfordton area...I work in Asheville, my wife works in Morganton. Just reaching out to see if anyone is in the area, and interested in adding a riding partner. Im 33, own a '17 300rr and a '16 350rr, my wife has a yz250f. Probably would rate myself as a overall "b" rider, but I'm always trying to improve still. On the 300rr I like to push myself and try hard singletrack, the 350rr I will be entering the NCHSA races this year on, first time ever racing, and starting at 33 years old lol. Now that Brown Mountain OHV is back open, I am usually at Brown Mountain every weekend. Brushy mountain usually on the times Brown mountain is closed. If you ride the area dont be afraid to say hi.
  25. Anyone been? Not intrested in the mx track, just the trails. How many miles and terrain? Thanks for any info.
