  1. I recently replaced water pump and seal after I noticed that my '02 CRF450R was spilling coolant on easy trail rides. After the water pump swap (which was successful), I noticed the same problem. It's interesting - the bike only spits coolant (I mean a LOT of coolant) after passing anything above 1/2 throttle. The bike makes this weird 'gurgling' noise, like trying to suck through a straw when your glass is almost empty. This is weird because I properly bled/ burped the radiators with coolant, and filled them to normal operating levels. The coolant spills through overflow hose. anyways - I swapped the radiator because I thought maybe the bike was running hot. I purchased oversized radiators, bought a 1.6 radiator cap (with a temp gauge) and bought engine ice. The bike runs very very cool - the temp gauge allows me to see this. Still, the bike shoots coolant out of the overflow after going above half throttle, making the same weird gurgling noise when it does. Bike has all of its power, top end was replaced not too long ago. I'm lost and don't know what is wrong with the cooling system in my bike. How do I make the bike stop shooting out coolant, and stop making the weird gurgle noise??? Any advice would help me!!! Thank you!
  2. Thought I'd start a thread for ideas for products or services anybody would like to see available for purchase.. May already be a similar thread, this place is huge, move thread if needed... * Drilled & tapped suspension bolts with zirts for easy greasing. * Drilled & tapped suspension linkage & components with grease zirts & new bushings, bearings, seals, & bolts. 'Renew' kits that bolt right on, possibly a core charge refunded when customer returns usable original units, tho we all know some of these parts get WASTED when run dry too long. NOTE: There are a lot of different linkage ratios & link lengths that have been used over the years, this service could compile data & offer changes to customize suspension tuning. * CRF #crank with oil inlet drilled larger & big end cage eliminated, with many more individual rollers & thrust washers on each side of crankpin instead. I'd suggest using the #Carillo #rod as it HAS to be the highest quality I've seen. Crank explosions may become a thing of the past... * Aftermarket CRF #cases, $650 or so is a BIT ridiculous for a pair. May be able to get billet CNC machined cases, like has been done for #CR500. may be a whole new life waiting for CRFs with #stroker cranks & bigger #sleeve. CRF750 anyone??? CRF1000??? * #Turbo chargers for CRFs - I'm sure we could get JE to produce thick dome lower CR #pistons... With above mentioned cranks, may be looking at 100~150 HP before going big bore OR stroker... Just need to be able to get into Honda's #EFI #programming for changes, likely already available out there. * Bolt on oil cooler kits for the various CRFs, along with temp indicator, possibly fan option. * Aftermarket #stator kits with 12v lighting & accy circuit. * Electric motor kits for ALL those rolling chassis out there. Lots of private efforts on #Youtube. Some are VERY fast. * Fold up ramp kits that replace truck tailgates. * #Engine #swap kits to put XR-XL #engines in CRF #chassis. *****************************************Some of the above may well already be in use, either via aftermarket, private teams, or adaptable from other models or other models not sold in USA. *****************************************#Honda #CR #CRF #CRF450 #XR #XL #AMA #AMAPro #AMAProRacing #TT #HillClimb #Baja #CamelPro #FlatTrack #Motocross #MX #Supercross #SX #Race #Racing #Competition #MotorSports #Business #Opportunity #Opportunities #Money #MoneyMaker #Entrepreneur #twitter ***************************************** dhoelcher@gmail.com

    How much would you pay?

Hey everybody. Quick question for y'all. I recently went riding and about halfway through my ride my motor seized on my '07 CRF250X. I haven't investigated it much but I checked the oil when I got home and there basically was none so I'm assuming that was the culprit. There weren't any metal shavings in the filter or on the plug either. At this point I'm trying to decide to rebuild the motor or just sell the bike as is and let the next buyer deal with it (they would know the deal obviously.) I feel that I'm pretty mechanically inclined but rebuilding a CRF engine is a bit out of my league and I assume paying a shop to do it would put me out more money than the bike is worth. So, I have this question to ask; what would be a fair price for a pretty dang nice shape 07 CRF250X, with a seized motor with an unknown extent of internal damage?

    Battery Problems?

Sup guys so im new to this dirtbike world, bought a new 2018 crf 250 r when i Got it at the dealer the battery was dead so they supposebly put a hot one in and finally turned it on so i took it home about a 2 hour drive and the bike would not turn on again. So i charged the battery and finally made it run again and rode about an hour then it kept turning on fine, then i let it sit for about an hour and it wouldnt fire up on the first try had to give it a little gas and finally it started up, but supposebly you should not give gas to these electric start bikes???so about 2 days later I went back to try and turn it on and nothing again it would just try to start it and nothing till the battery died again so there I go again to charge it and finally turns on again? Does this have to go on every time i let the bike sit for couple days? Is it normal or somethings wrong? Man its probably a dumb question but im new to this so any tips would help!
  8. So my dad offered me to buy a used 2008 crf 230l for about 3000$ CAD (Canada) or an 2009 CRF230L Supermoto version for 2500$. I'm 15 years old, i'm 6' 3" and 180 lbs. My only experience on motorcycles are a little 80cc 2-stroke engine kit that was put on a small bicycle. Would that be good as a first motorcycle for a beginner? Thanks!
