  1. Looking for dimensions and or part # for fork bushings on my girlfriends 2007 crf250r thanks in advance!
  2. Is there some way to put a CRF Kickstarter to a 1998 CR125 engine?
  3. Alright fellers I need your help I have rebuilt my 03 crf450r full bottom end the top end got new valve seals thats it and we put new shims in the valve train now heres were im at the bike runs great for a couple mins starts on the first or second kick but after a couple minutes or after you hit the kill switch it will not start again until I mess with the carburetor and the cam chain tensioner then it'll fire right back up so I was just wondering if any of you have run into this and what you did to fix it thanks guys
  4. I’ve read the manual, it says warm the bike up for 3 minutes and then let it sit for 3 minutes and check to see if oil comes out from the check bolt. When the bikes been sitting for a while and hasn’t been running oil just drips out of the check bolt. I’ve heard that as long as it drips out when the bike is cold it should be fine. If I do what the manual says and warm the bike up for 3 minutes and let it cool down for 3 minutes no oil will come out of the check bolt. If I top it up until it comes out as the manual says when I let the bike sit overnight the oil will come out of the bolt real fast. Does this mean it’s too full? If someone knows anything about this or have a similar bike let me know. Thanks :)
  5. Hi guys I have a 2018 Crf250r and my ecu is stuck in customs but I have the opportunity to use a 2019 ecu but unsure on if it will work or wreck anything
  6. What are the best used Dual Sport models to convert into a scrambler style? Looking for 400-650cc, decent Highway Speed (cruise around 65-70 mph), Low Maintance, good MPG, can handle long distance rides (150 mile day ride), Very Good on fire roads, decent single track, can handle occasional sand and rocks no problem, lighter weight, Currently deciding between: drz400 and 650, KLR650, XR400R 600R and 650R,
  7. What do u guys think about this it's $2,680 for a 06. Only one picture
  8. Does anyone have a recommendation for a carburator replacement for a 2004 CRF250X? They're a dime a dozen on eBay, but has anyone really bought and installed one? Knock-offs for sure. Long story short, I've picked up a used 2004 CRFX that sat for years. I've cleaned the carb. and found a crack, it's leaking fuel. I'd rather start fresh rather than piece together replacement parts, but I'd also rather avoid the $500 for a name brand replacement. Thoughts?
  9. So the camshaft bearing snapped and got in the valves and locked the motor what damage you think it did to the bike? Had oil and coolant so idk
  10. Guy is selling this bad mamba jamba CRF450 fully loaded, and said that he balanced this bike on the back tire for this image. Short of a green screen and some amazing photoshop I can't see how else he could do it. Is it possible? Also pics or it didn't happen, I don't even believe this guy and I have the pictures.
  11. Ive been looking around for a flywheel weight (or heavier flywheel) for my 2009 CRF450R, and have read a lot about them being around. But have not actually been able to find a store or seller on ebay that has them. Am i missing something? Or do i have to start making the damn thing? Side note, ive also been looking into ECU flashes to take the jerk out of the starting power, but it sounds like the guys who used to do it dont anymore?
  12. Back in Early October 2021 I started calling California, Nevada and Arizona dealerships to track down who was getting the 2021 CRF450RWE. Pretty much all of them told me that they didn’t have one for sure coming that they could guarantee me, but they usually get one. A closer dealership I had called said they were for sure getting two, already confirmed by Honda and one was already taken. So I ran down and placed a deposit and signed their little contract to purchase the bike. Around late November they called me to say the bike would be arriving sometime the first week of December, if not then for sure the second week of December. Around 12/17/2020 I called and asked if it came in. They said that it had not, Honda confirmed the ship date would now be 12/21/2020. And to expect the bike the first week of January. I gave them a call around 01/10/2021 for an update, they told me no dice on the bike, should come in at the end of the month. Hit them up on 01/29 and they told me they were receiving the bike on 01/30. I asked if it was being shipped on that day or they were actually receiving it. He wasn’t sure. But they never called back. What’s getting me angry about this is that originally I didn’t really care when it came, I have other bikes to ride. But they kept giving me these bs updates which got me excited and anxious and I still don’t know what’s up. I am to the point now where I kind of want to get my money back and buy something else from their rival dealership. And to add as a FU to them, I am buying a 1000 turbo UTV and trailer in late March and was considering them, but not now. My kids also ride, so I would be axing them out of their new bikes when they outgrow what they have. Maybe I am just being vindictive and in reality I am dealing with morons in the sales department. Is anyone else getting the runaround and still waiting?
  13. There is a 2014 crf250 for sale near me for 4 grand. Has 50 hours and full dual fmf pipes. Is this worth it or could I find better deals.
  14. I have a crf 250r 2015, someone moved the butterfly screw, and the tps. How do I get it back to the factory standard. I searched a lot and found nothing about it, not even in the manual. Thanks
  15. So I saw a crf150r and bought it. The guys said that the bike sat for a year and he cleaned the carb and put new air filter in it. I rode the bike and it felt like it was brand new. I get home and start it and let it sit for 2 or 3 minutes and it slowly died down and shut off. It has oil coolant and gas(all was fresh) and the kick start locked. I bump started it 2 times and it tried to start and then it wouldn’t after that. I took the bike home and put it in 1st and moved back and forth and I unlocked. Now it has low compression and won’t start at all. What do I do
  16. Hello all, this is my first post in a CRF forum. I’ve been building this (2019 Honda CRF450RWE) supermoto build since December. I bought it with 23 hours on it, and have finished converting and been riding for about a month now (street and Supermoto racing). I have always noticed a bit of oil around the motor, but last week before heading to a track day, I completely cleaned/degreased everything down, and after my track day, I noticed (what I felt like) was more than usual oil on the motor. It APPEARS to be leaking out of the Cylinder Head Cover (the thick gasket more specifically). It seems to be moist on that gasket. I’m curious as to what y’all’s experiences are, and if that gasket is supposed to be sealed with something and maybe it wasn’t done when someone was in it last? And/or if I should just order a new gasket and go from there. It should also be noted that I need/am planning on doing a valve adjustment, so if this issue coincides with being easier whilst performing the valve adjustment, then that’d be great. Also, I’m doing the valve adjustment/replacing this gasket, is there anything else I should go ahead and take care of while I’m there? I have also included a few pics of the bike on the track for ya 🙂 Much thanks!
  17. Hey y’all so I’ve just done a fresh piston (forged wiseco 12.1) on my crf450x and I’ve got it all back together and I have this pretty horrible noise on the right side of the cylinder. I’ve double checked the valve clearance and tried tightening bolts to no avail. My exhaust flange is sort of bent but this doesn’t sound like a header leak. Any idea WTF is going on? https://youtube.com/shorts/JnTe1oRxvHw?feature=share
  18. Hey everyone first off thanks for considering, thumper talk is amazing. I just bought a 2002 crf450r that wasent running and thought it would be a simple valve job. I replaced intake and exaust with the kibblewhite black diamond kit (springs and all). The bike starts like a champ usually first kick now but when I go to ride it after about 1-3 min depending on how I use the throttle the bike sputters and dies. If I gas the bike 1 through 5 it dies pretty much right after and holding the bike at a steady low/mid rpm will also cause it to die after like 2-4 min. I thought it was an overheat issue but now I don’t think so because it starts pretty much right back up (2nd to like 5th kick) and I can ride for another minute or 2 before it happens again. It does sound like a fuel issue but I checked my petcock, tank and have now cleaned the carburetor twice. I believe it’s high rpm’s that are causing the bike to die which I’ve read points to an electrical issue but not sure at all. Maybe someone could explain why bikes with electrical problems have trouble at high rpm’s. I figured before banging my head off the wall for a few weeks someone would know what this behavior means. Starts great, idles great, lots of power on the throttle then sputters and dies (but will start right back up). thanks a million…
  19. I bought a 2018 crf250r the other day. Bike had no hour meter so I’m u aware of hours. I noticed a unusual ticking noise coming from the motor so I cracked into it and found my camshaft had ate into my head. My question is what would have caused this?
  20. Hi everyone I’m looking for some help. Bit of back ground. The rocker arm bearing failed on the bike so striped the motor and replaced bearings, cam chain, piston and rocker arm. fired up the bike after rebuild and I’m getting a ticking sound from what sounds like the top end. Iv checked timing, valve clearance, cam chain tensioner, auto decompressor and had the fly wheel off to check in that area. I’m waiting on some more shims to turn up and going to try a different cam. The motor has high comp piston, hot cam and kibble white valves and springs and is a CRF 250r 2005. any help would be much appreciated
  21. So my front brakes seized while riding and I came home and bled the brake system and it released and spun freely but if I continue to use the front brake they seize again
  22. Hi I’m deep into research on this and haven’t found much help. I know trail tech no longer makes their kits so I’m at a loss for how to power all the lights and cluster for a street legal conversion on my 2006 250r. I know I need a better stator but can’t find anything more than Ricky Stators 40w dc product. What have people found that can reliably produce more power without the bike dying?
  23. I'm pretty sure the guy I bought my honda crf 230f from didnt run the gas out of it before letting it sit for 2 seasons. Its electric start and it's never consistent. Sometimes it starts and will idle for a little bit but even when giving it gas itll still die. I've played with the air mixture screw and got it to idle really high then really low and balanced it and thought that fixed the problem but then when I went to ride it it kept stalling when it shouldn't have. Seemed like it was running really lean on gas so I seated the fuel mixture screw then did the factory recomend 2.5 turns out and thought that fixed it for a while. It was idling great for like 2 minutes but then died again. Now it wont even start. I was told it had a carb clean before I bought it and I believe that's true cuz the screws look really clean and it got a new spark plug. I dont think it's a stuck float. I did have some problems with the gas leaking from the overflow hoses when I first started riding it but that doesnt really happen anymore. Ive had a lot of people tell me to keep the bike and that it's a good bike just needs a tune up. Any idea how to fix it?
  24. Hey everyone, Just bought a seconded hand 2009 CRF 250 R it has nearly 120 hrs on the clock. It runs well, starts well, pulls well, sounds good doesn’t smoke and I’ve done the valves (one intake was out by .001”) but has a compression of 40 psi (the service spec is 52 psi). I’ve never owned a proper race bike only ever owned old XRs just wondering if I should bite the bullet and do a rebuild on it straight away or if I can get away with taking for a few rides and watching the valves closely, changing oils etc...? I’ll only be trail riding with it, doesn’t need to be perfect just don’t want to risk dropping a valve or munching a bearing and cost myself heaps more to get it back going again Thanks for for any insight you fellas can give!
  25. I wrote a different question earlier trying to see what bike could suit me as a 140 pound 5'7 rider. I ride tight trails and usually use more of the bottom end low rpms. I always had a 230. But those bikes feel so luggy to me. Then switched to a 150 rb with a fly wheel (what was I thinking?). So now in considering the crf 250x. I know it's a tall heavy bike. But I plan to lower it and get used to the weight. I'm not much for two stroked. So what are your over all impressions of the 250x? (getting it used 09)
