Hey guys i just got a 2022 500 EXC-F and ive turned it into a supermoto, installed a power commander 5 and pro moto billet end cap on it the other night and the first ten minutes of it running the bike ran like a dream but then it started giving me an engine code. The code was 1 flash (long) and 7 flashes (short), couldn’t seem to find it in my owners manual anywhere and im quite stumped as to what it could be. Has anyone else had this issue before and can help with some advice??

The new class would include only motards, just as much track time as the other classes followed by class room discussions including riding technique, track surface, conditions, turning, thorttling, race lines, body position, braking, etc... Each person attending the class would also have the opportunity to have a 1 on 1 on the track and their experience discussed later in class. This is the current agenda and level of service each riding class is currently handled with, only now we'll have a real presence instead of mixing in with the sport riders. For now I'll keep it short and let the thread be born ALL MOTARDERS PLEASE REPLY IF YOUR INTERESTED. Wow!, What an awsome weekend of great Racing. For those of us lucky enough to be in attendance, the 1st XBux SupermotoUSA Vet Nationals, brougt riders from Maryland, Washington, Canada, and So-Cal. They were competeing for bragging rights and cool prizes. CHM Exhaust Teammates, Jason Conlin and Roger Hensley had great weeknds. Both of them were winners in their classes. The combination of Rick Pearce's tenure and his knowledge of his CR500 Honda's capabilities, put him on the pole with fastest qualifying lap. Rick was very happy with the long uphill and the ability of his CR500 Honda to devore anything in it's path going up it. After a quick jump to the front of the main while pulling away from the rest of the XBux+40 premire class Rick had the throttle stick open in the dirt section after landing the table-top jump. Both Rick and his bike went verticle. Rick hung on only to have the pissed-off over revving CR500 land rear wheel first, pop the tire and shatter the rim, killing the engine. Thank God! In amazement I watched Rick stand up and look at us in the announcing tower and give me the thumbs-up. The hair on my arms stood up as i watched him push (drag)his bike to the pits. There were lot's of race's and lot's of winners, the Track prepared by Al McKelroy and Brok was just awsome. Those in attendance saw some really great racing. Anybody know if there are any AMA supermoto races in florida? If not pro races, then amateur?

okay im just board and seen alot of cool looking supermoto versions of this bike over seas and was wonder has any one in the states done one of there own ? what tire options do i have for a supermoto tire that will fit the stock rim? i want to do some black plastic to get rid of the white who sells black pasctics that will fit ive looked at acerbis and ufo but they only seem to have the x and r model plastics? any help would be awesome thanks o fyi i love my new exhust!!

I have a 2007 drz400 and I have some head shake at high speeds, from roughly 67mph and up. It is not a rapid "shit yourself" uncontrollable shake but starts somewhat subtle at maybe 65-68mph and can be easily kept under control with some effort but gets a little worse and tougher to stop if I get into the 70's and up. Is this normal? Maybe the bike's way of saying "slow down"... I know a Dualsport is not exactly a HWY cruiser and all but the 1996 XT350 I had prior did not have the desire to shake even in to the 90mph range, not that I want to be riding around at these high speeds on a dualsport. I have had several other DS bikes and none had this much wiggle. It does have some really kobby tires for a DOT street tire and I have suspected that might be the cause Tires are Kenda Track Master K-760 model and they came with the bike when I bought it a few weeks ago. The tires still have a good amount of meat on them but I doubt the knobs will last long riding 100% pavement so maybe that will help?? Anybody elso have simir shake?

Hey guys im new to super motos and dirtbikes in general but I have always loved them and finnaly got a drz400sm brand new 1500km on it. I am trying to learn clutch wheelies. I can get the tire up in the air in 1st gear (not to balance point) but in 2nd gear I cant get it to pop. Rarely on a hill I will get the smallest lift of the front tire like 1ft at the most. I have seen vids and know the drZ400sm is able to clutch up wheelies in even 3rd.. so what can I do to help. Whats the best way to learn? (bikes never been dropped and I don't want to!) I have been praticing in areas with no traffic. After about 4 attempts I feel like I am &%$#@!ing up my bike so I baby it through the gears nice and smoooth for a few km then try again. Does doing clutch wheelies harm the bike? What is the most common damage it does? (I think once you are a pro it is not bad at all because you know what your doing but Iv heard learning them can be brutally hard on the bike.) Everything is stock (exterior mods - new taillight / signals - armoured handgaurd with zeta handguards with the flashers built in - zeta 3 finger adjustable clutch lever (love this!) And zeta 3 finger break lever - removed right hand mirror. What I do.. slide back in the seat, squeeze the bike hard with my legs to hold it, rest foot on rear break pedal, going about 25 - 30km in 2nd gear I pull clutch in juice the throttle to a high sounding rpms, then let out the clutch. No where on my bike tells me what my rpms are at so I go by ear and I try to get as high rpm as it sounds before that awful red line screaming sound. -now in 1st gear I do the same thing and I get the wheel up no problem but as soon as its up I let off the throttle because the rpms sound like there getting super close to red line..

Hey guys, What do you think of my new XR400 in supermoto trim!!?! I have been a Thumper talk fan for a while but not a member because i didn't have anything to contribute! But now I do! I am super excited for this bike. I have had it for over a year, and didn't ride it because it was to tall for me in the dirt trim. (I'm 5'6" on a good day) Even in the sumo trim, its still a bit tall but is manageable. The suspension is soft and sinks a bit when you get on it and the kick stand is a little to long now that the bike is shorter. I cant kick it unless its on the kickstand. But anyway, I just recently got my wheels from "Motostrano.com". I did the " SUPERMOTO CONVERSION KIT: WARP 9 SUPERMOTO WHEELS & TIRES" kit. It cost about $1300 and about 1500+ after taxes and shipping. (link: http://www.motostrano.com/Warp-9-Supermoto-Wheel-Tire-Kit-p/kit-w9tire.htm) I got a floating front rotor, red hubs, 4.25" rear wheel and pilot power tires (rear tire was a 150). Took about 4-5 weeks to get and when I did, they forgot to send the front brake caliper bracket, so I had to wait an extra week or so to get that. I really want to run Dunlop Q3 tires so a bought a set of cheap tires on ebay (Continental conimotions) that had a 160mm rear tire, because they smallest they make the Dunlops is a 160 rear. I know my bike would have fit a 150, but the rear test would be if i could fit a 160. So with the cheap tires in hand, I test mounted them on the rims and it clears everything except the chain slap. So it leaves a funny pattern on the left side of the tire, but its not too bad. On top of that, I put a new, non-oring chain on so it would be a thin as possible. I should have gotten just the rims because I used a cheap set of Ebay tires but I will use my pilot powers that the kit came with eventually.... Once I got it rolling, I noticed it was burning a lot of oil, so I tore the top end apart and installed a new cylinder base gasket, head gasket and valve seals! This bike is so much fun to wip around. Next step is wheelies! Let me know what you guys think! (Best canyon road around=tepusquet road, Santa Barbara county off rt 166!)

Picked this up as mostly stock "street legal" a few weeks ago Had to strip out what seemed like a mile of wiring and other garbage that made up the street legal part. It had a handlebar switch that only worked for blinkers, a pull switch with no knob behind the light mask for low beam, no high beam, no key, an exploded tusk dual sport battery kit, and wiring from probly 4 other kits. Stripped it all out and added a baja design kit like my XR, replaced all the plastic, added a 2008 headlight and sumo fender, 12a lithium battery to replace the 5a stocker that wouldn't crank in the cold, and a trail tech voyager (which I can't figure out a mount for yet). Loving the new looks and can't wait till I get my Supermoto wheels and tires next month. Here's how it sits after putting it back together today.

Hey Guys My first time posting to the supermoto section. I'm not really building a supermoto bike but more of a street tracker. But I need some help with picking out a new rear rim. Basically i already laced a rear rim to my front hub. So as of now im running to rear rims (18x2.15). I thought it would look good running the same set up up front and back. But the more i look at my bike the more i want to bump up my rear tire size. Or widen it rather. So i'm going to lace a sumo rim to my rear hub. I don't want to change my front rim, i like it as is. But considering that my front rim is now 2.15 and will stay that way, i don't know if i should go 17x4.25 in the rear. That seems like a pretty big difference from front to rear. My gut is saying lace a 17x3.5 to the rear to make the front and rear look more balanced. Oh and I'm running Shinko SR428 130/80 - 18 on front and back Thoughts? Opinions? Questions?

Hey folks. This project started with an impulse purchase. I've been playing around with some e-bicycle stuff and got a little ahead of myself ordering things. This "20" fat tire" hub motor wouldn't apply to anything I am working on but it's such a nice piece that I didn't want to return it, so I decided to build an electric motorcycle with it. The size and engineering of the CRF100 will be perfect for what I have in mind. I'll be on the lookout for a good deal on a frame if anyone has one. I am in Denver, thanks for looking.

Hi All first post here wasn’t sure what section to put this in... I have a 2005 tt600re converted to supermoto, the bike runs great but there seems to be excessive noise coming from the cam chain (only 18,000km on the bike) , it occours from low to mid revs when under load and is like a chain slapping sound. I think these models have automatic chain tensioners however I don’t want to keep driving it if it’s a case the timing chain is on its way out. Is this noise normal or should I be concerned? any help greatly appreciated

I was practicing cornering in a parking lot yesterday trying to get low. I was able to get almost completely to the edge of my front tire. The back tire has been taken completely to the edge, the little Michelin men have gone away. I have not touched a peg on the pavement yet surprisingly. How much lower can I go on a good street tire like the Pilot Powers? Running 24psi front and 28psi rear by the way. I'm still a newb to supermoto. I wanna have fun and get confident in the corners, but I don't want to hurt myself (which is why this was done in an empty parking lot).

I'll start this post by saying hi to the 2T Austrian crowd. I'm a little unknown to these threads because I used to frequent the WR450 side of the house... but like many of us, the need to mix fuel gets the better of us. Anyways, on with the post. About two months I started looking for a mini to compete against a whole herd of 150R's that were dominating our mini class with Victoria Supermoto. Thing was, I couldn't see myself riding red (plus they're super expensive around here), so I started looking for viable alternatives to the "norm". After a couple weeks of searching, I found this little gem on a local buy/sell/trade site. I knew it had potential against the herd.. but I wasn't too sure how much it'll cost me in the end. The things that attracted me to the bike.. 1: it had better components that the honda, 2: it was lighter, and 3: I kinda missed riding a 2T (1st bike in 1994 was a 1981 RM125). 4: 6 speed vs 5 So, I made an offer and the seller agreed to the price, so I took it home later that day. Day 1 was a long as I did a complete bike disassembly to survey for damage or items to replace/repair before bringing it to the track. Luckily the bike started first kick cold, and the previous owner had lots of fairly recent receipts for top/bottom end work carried out by a reputable shop locally, so I figured the motor didn't have to be opened up yet. Then I started scrubbing/cleaning.. I'll admit, my CDO (alphabetically correct OCD) took over and things started to snowball a bit. 😛 About 2 weeks later and a massive hoard of new shinny KTM parts later, I rebuilt the clutch M/C, bled the clutch, installed new EBC sintered pads (F/R), swapped brake fluid to Motul RBF660, replaced all chain sliders, repacked every bearing with grease, repacked the silencer and installed some Bridgestone BT45 tires on the factory 19/16 wheels. That was enough to do it's initial shakedown at the track. Now armed with the knowledge I learned from the outing, it was time to modify and address any issues I encountered while trackside. I started with the feeble factory 220mm front brakes.. and ordered the KTM 260mm hard-parts BBK. Next I moved on to gearing.. I quickly realized that a 13/51 wasn't ideal.. So I promptly ordered the factory 14/46 gears to boost my overall speed. Now, I could confidently get up to around 110 km/hr and stop almost as quickly without any sign of brake fade. Next, I ordered all new plastics, factory 2012 decal kit, throttle cable, SXS CDI, clutch basket, clutch hub, and new steels and fibres. Then, while I was ordering parts one of the parts guys asked what I was using the bike for.. and he showed me the hard parts catalogue from 2009 that had a factory Supermoto conversion kit for the 85 SX. I hate him.. now I had to have it. Unfortunately.. I was informed that everything was discontinued from KTM.. So the search began. About a week later, the latest batch of parts showed up, so I got to installing everything. Here's how it sits right now My search continues. So, to be continued..

That's right we will now be hosting a class for the SM big boys (250 and up) on our regularly scheduled open track days.👍 All asphalt so far but we are in talks with the track for a dirt section to come as long as the demand is there:thumbsup: Both tracks are plenty big enough for the big bikes and we already had one very successful track day on the Liberator last season, and that's the smaller more technical one. The Avenger/Revenger ( Avenger run in reverse ) is much more high speed and perfectly suited for SM.🙂 Check our schedule for our practice days and any info you may need as well as any questions you may have. This is going to open a lot of opportunities for you guys to get some serious track time at a first class track. Hey i am lookin into puchacing a aprilia sxv 450, now i was wondering if i can get some pros and cons on this bike? im new to this type of bike and i would like to get some info on it. From what i see this bike is a bad ass machine. Im looking it to getting a street legal supermoto soon and i think i am really set on a aprilia sxv. Anybody try it? I can deal with a little chain rub on the tire but I dont want to destroy the rim.

The Detroit round of AMA Supermoto will feature amateur racing on Saturday. We will have a sportsman class.
