i personally love the wr250r. its probably the most fun ive had on two wheels in quite some time. fun to ride to work, connect trails i find on google maps on my way home, hardly enough power to hurt yourself (although i did manage to surprise myself on one wheel going from second to third), handles quick and easy and its relatively light for a dualsport until your crammed in somewhere by yourself. the only thing it leaves me wanting is more torque!

Spectacular beginner dirtbike. Legal on the road but enough power and suspension to tackle most features. In the right hands it'll just perform while not punishing the learning rider. Indestructible and I'll never sell mine. Stock tires need to go ASAP and it'll benefit from some lower gearing

  14. My 09 yz250f won't run. I have no idea why... it had a full rebuild or so I was told but judging on the looks on the parts they look brand new and I've cleaned all the valves and cleaned the carb I've also done the valve clearances. when kicking it over ill get a few loud backfires and once in a while a slight rev. I can get it to half ass run by bump starting it but I have to have momentum for it to "run" here's a video of how it sounds when "running" this is me holding it at full throttle the entire time

    BIKE WON’T TURN OFF

Guys, I think I have a problem... I bought a WR yesterday, and it was turning on/running great! I tried turning on my bike today, and it was making a really loud noise (sounds like an Impact wrench). Plus the lights dim a lot, and the front headlight didn’t turn on. I contacted the PO and he said the battery should be fine, maybe charge it. But I think I found the problem, I took a pic on my tachometer before going out... it was at 1 hour something mins. Then when I came back, it said 4 hours and something minutes. The kill switch, headlight, and everything this turned off. The key wasn’t even in the bike... does that happen to you too? I think that’s draining my battery. Is there another way to normally turn off a bike besides a key? Maybe something the PO didn’t tell me? Lmk, thanks

  17. I'm 5'2 and can ride a CRF250L. I don't really like the CRF250L because of the weight and the fact of me not being able to pick it up easily and also because it doesn't seem it has good suspension. If I were to get the WR250R I would lower it with a YamaLink. I'm also looking for a bike that will last me for a descent 8 years or more and has a good amount of power and doesn't need to be modded as much as CRf250L seems to be. My inseam is 26". What bike would suite me?

    WR250R/X Gearing Information

Guys, We just got this email from Renthal: "Hey Brian, Would it be possible for you to post a sticky under the Yamaha Dual Sport forum about this bike and the sprocket fitment? We have been getting many calls regarding this and I figured this would help the members out. We just received all the OEM parts from Yamaha and can confirm the front sprocket is the same as the YZ/WR250F from 01-08 and the though the rear sprocket has different fixing holes, it is the same dimensions as the current YZ/WR250/450''s. If you want to mount up a YZ sprocket to this bike, all you have to do is buy the tapered YZ sprocket bolts since the stock sprocket uses a non tapered bolt. Thanks, Brad Cameron http://shop.thumpertalk.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=862&Click=22976Renthal Renthal Ltd." We hope you find this information helpful. We can gladly set you up with the right sprockets, front or rear, steel or aluminum. Please check out our sprockets here: http://shop.thumpertalk.com/Sprockets_Chains_s/917.htm Here are some choices for tapered style sprocket bolts: MSR: http://shop.thumpertalk.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=TR_342941 Moose: http://shop.thumpertalk.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=PU_24010285

My first dual sport motorcycle. I am new to off road riding. The WR250R is great on the trails and is surprisingly good on the street.
