    Riding Buddy in Arizona

Here's the deal.. I'm visiting my mom for the next month or so and probably will be coming a couple times a year to visit.. Since I don't live here I don't really have a bike so looking to see of maybe anyone has a spare bike and needs a riding buddy. If i can find something cheap i may willing to pick it up just so i can ride where im here. I'm more than happy to help pay for gas or any other expenses. I have a car and can move around freely and have a bunch of spare time for the next month. I'm also decent with a wrench so willing to help work on your bikes or really anything. I just love riding and need to make some friends here . I ride woods/trails back home where I live in Belize.. I literally ride daily unless the bike is being worked on 7 Little about myself. 26 year old dude. Into sports and pretty much anything outdoors. Hunting fishing shooting guns camping whatever.. I love dirt riding. Rode about a year or two or track when I was younger. Then picked up another bike about a year and a half ago.i ride a yz450f so know what it's like jumping on a stallion... I'm experienced enough not to trash your bike and shouldn't hold u back. And I'm not broke so if I break something I'll pay for it. I understand this sport is expensive and it's a big risk to let some random dude on ur bike. I'm a decent rider for sure. I mean I crash every now and again but I've never seriously injured myself or screwed up a bike. I'm very level headed and know not to go too far out of my comfort zone or ride too far above my skill level. That said; I shouldn't hold u back on the trails or anything like that unless you are keeping her pinned on rev limited the whole time.
  2. I have watched Washington State change over the years and being at a place in my life where all I want to do is ride trails, I am considering leaving Washington State. Where would you move to if you were set up in life and all you had to do was to enjoy the next 30 years riding trails? Your help is greatly appreciated. I have 3 places in mind, what say you guys? Where would you go? My ideal riding is technical single track. For instance I love little Naches, Tahuya obviously and Shelton areas. Thanks everyone who chimes in, much appreciated. PS. Pics are a huge bonus.
  3. Hello all, I currently live in Phoenix Arizona and I am having problems with my 2006 KX450F backfire. Its rides perfectly fine and has all the power in the world, does not lack on the responsive side at all. But whenever I engine break I pop A LOT. "Poppopopopopopopopopop" and its whenever I am slowing down after either going fast or slow. I want to know how to stop that, I understand that some popping is okay, but its a lot, spits fire sometimes after going fast. I am not sure what current jets I have in the bike, because the previous owner did not know, but I am thinking of going to a 180 main jet, 42 pilot, 55 leak jet (from 70 stock), throttle clip position 4th from the top, and 2 turns out on the fuel screw. I have heard a lot of people changing the leak jet from 70 to 55 helps a lot overall. I am not sure on what to use for the elevation wise on the jets. I have tried to lean and richen the fuel screw before but nothing has happened. Any suggestions of what I should do? Just thinking of getting JD Jetting kit and going from there.
  4. Some of you may have seen my recent post about my 3rd Person POV GoPro mount setup. Recently I put it through a real test and went out to a fun spot in Northern AZ. I'd love feedback on the mount setup, as well as feedback on the video and content. I personally love watching 'adventure series' off-road type motovlogs; what would you like to see more of? Also, enjoy the drone footage
  5. Like the title says I'll be visiting my parents around the holidays and want to get out and ride at least one day if not two. I've read up on some riding areas, wildcat and boulder primarily that look like they'll be fun. Looking for any local knowledge on riding areas or people that want to meet up and ride. Mid pack C rider on a 2T. Don't mind chasing fast riders (actually preferred) if you don't mind waiting at intersections lol. Cheers and Happy Holidays!
  6. Hey guys, I am looking at a 2005 CRF250x that has a Arizona license plate on it. I was wondering if anybody could help me. My understanding is, from looking on forums and calling AAA, I all I need is the title of the bike from the owner and to get a VIN inspection by the DMV. The guy said the bike is registered until September 2020 in Arizona. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  9. Who's ready to race on the lake?
  10. I'll be relocating to the Phoenix area pretty soon here (probably somewhere around the Glendale area). I've searched around and have found a couple of tracks in the area (ACP, Canyon, ET, MC Motorsports in Tuscon, etc.); I imagine I'll check all of those tracks out and figure out a "main" one where I will probably run practice most often. However, where does everyone race around here? I haven't seen much in way of race schedules (maybe it's a time of year thing?). Also, pretty much every race around me now is AMA sanctioned; is that less common out in AZ (though I did see a LLAQ scheduled back in Feb)? I didn't search very hard, but I couldn't find an AMA district for motocross in AZ. To be clear, I'm a C rider/working professional (maybe will someday make the jump to B). I race for fun though I will make an honest effort to win of course. As a result I'm looking for race series that have good competition and turnout, but I'm not looking at a future as a pro racer so I don't necessarily need to be entering strictly AMA events (it's just the format that I'm already familiar with). Thanks! -RageD

arizona Easy places to ride in Arizona.

To make a long story short I just moved back to Arizona after living in Hawaii for the past few years and I bought myself a used 08 KTM 250 SX. I haven't ridden a bike in roughly 3 years since my first bike was stolen while I was living in Hawaii. Anyways, I didn't have a bike when I lived here in AZ before so I am trying to figure what some good places to ride are. I am mostly interested in desert riding and preferably areas or trails that would be more beginner friendly. I didn't have a huge amount of time in the seat prior to my last bike getting stolen, so I want to take things nice and slow at first while I get back into the groove of things. I currently live in Wickenburg, so anything close by would be a definite plus. I had heard there are places to ride out towards vulture mine here in Wickenburg, but I have also heard you may need a permit of some kind to go there because its state trust land? Any info on this would be helpful as well. Thank you in advance.

Hi All! My SO and I are planning a trip to Tucson for the week after Xmas until the first of January (plan to be down there from the 26th-1st). I am excited to load the bikes up and get out of the harsh Nebraska Winter weather this year. I was curious if there were any "must see" parks, tracks, etc. in AZ. We are willing to do some traveling but will be near Tucson most of the time. As mentioned we are willing to try just about any riding medium out so let us know! Thanks in advance guys & gals!! -Shane
  15. hey everyone, I hope this is the right place to be posting this. I recently relocated to Sedona Arizona and I'm really having a tough time finding new places to ride. I know there are tons of trails around here but I'm really would love to get in some track time, I'm pretty novice rider so I don't need anything crazy. I'm from the Reno/Tahoe area and there were tons of little tracks/turn tracks that people made over years and I always had a blast riding them. If anyone could point me towards some spots like that around here it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for the help in advance everyone! Figured i add this in. Most the "tracks" I was riding on up North were located on BLM or Forest Service land. They weren't anything crazy just stuff people built up over the years. Hoping to find something similar down here.

    arizona Insurance question

Just wanted to see what most here in AZ do as far as insurance on your bikes that are registered for off road only? Curious what kind of coverage, if any, people get on a newer dirt bike.
