  1. I messed up BAD! I took the spark plug out to see if there was oil on it, none. I tried putting it back in. I messed up the hole so bad I can put the plug in and out of the whole without threading it in. The hole widened. I really don’t want to spend hundreds. God I’m such an idiot . What do I do now???

  3. I have a 2018 yz250fx and just installed a fmf factory 4.1 and a No Toil Super-Flow Air Filter Kit. Does anyone have any mapping configurations they can share?
  4. The RM125 seems to be in good condition. It has recently had a full engine rebuild. My CR85R is in good condition and I just rebuilt my top end and put a new rear shock and wheel assembly on it. Do you all think this would be a good trade and why or why not?
  5. I’m 14 and my rm85 smokes so much and my power valve is making a lot of rattling noise. I took off the cover and it had a lot of black residue and there was a puddle of it under my power valves and so I cleaned it with contact cleaner and took out the power valves and looked at them and they had little scores on the top and some (but not too much) carbon on the top and bottom sides. So I cleaned them off and put some oil on them and popped them back in and I started it with the cover off and they were barely doing anything except for rattle I got along with EVERYTHING else. The previous owner honed it out and it is nikasil so idk if that has anything to to with it smoking of not but I haven’t had the chance to go get it replated because I don’t have $250. I ran it all sorts of ratios and the manual said to run it 30:1 but when I run it 50:1 it still smokes a lot and way too much and I use motorx oil.   6. First time posting on here. Forgive me if it’s in the wrong place. Have a Tao tap db17 that’s started bogging on the very low end of throttle. Cleaned carb, just adjusted valves to .004 and I think .005 on intake valve. Have fiddled the air fuel screw in every way and havnt been able to get rid of it. Almost dies with choke on and idles strong without it. Any input appreciated! I’m thinking maybe an intake leak? Or possible rejetting. Thanks!!
  7. So my 1987 yz 250 starts, runs, and sounds fine. The issue I’ve been having is when I get on it and let off it doesn’t idle down that great until I let out the clutch. Even it neutral sometimes it’ll idle up a bit until I put it in gear and let of the clutch a bit to put load on it until the idle slows down. I can’t figure out what the problem could be.

So I have been riding four strokes my whole life and I love them, but I have never gotten into two stroke dirt bikes because I’m afraid of the maintenance I would have to do from what I hear on the Internet. I don’t generally beat on my machines, but I also don’t give them the proper maintenance that they should have. I only ride trails and I ride a lot of hours. Do you think a two stroke would be a bad fit for me?
  9. I have a 2005 crf 250r that will start but dies right away. I cleaned the carb, tried a 40 pilot 160main I thought it was jetting so I put in a 45 pilot 172 main any ideas Or help? I just shimmed the valves and have re checked them about 5 times now

I recently found a polisport plastics restyle kit that said it was for a kx 125/250 2000 and I knew that polisport didn’t actually make one so just to make sure I emailed them and they said they didn’t and it’s a replica kit, the thing is I don’t actually know what that is could someone explain
  12. I’m 16 I have a banshee quad but want a motorcycle . I am debating between a dual sport and a dirt bike. I have a truck so I could get the dirt bike to the dunes and trails .but a dual sport would be nice to ride to the trails that are 30 minutes away dunes are 45 min away .I like going fast but also want something reliable. my budget is around 5k . What are your thoughts on what would be best thanks.
  13. Today I want to shift gears, open the floor for discussion, and talk about the state of dirt biking as it relates to the bikes we buy, ride, and maintain. In my relatively short existence, a number of things have happened in the industry which has been interesting to see. A few examples, which are not by any means exhaustive of all that has gone on, include the emergence of the four-stroke power plant, electronic fuel injection, improved tire technology, electric bikes, and the development of air forks. On a more micro-level we’ve seen improvements to materials, new manufacturing processes, and coating processes which have allowed ever increasing performance. As a fellow rider and someone who has no bias or stake when it comes to manufacturers and product offerings, I’d like to hear your thoughts as they relate to today’s machines. My question to you is a simple one, are your needs as a consumer being met by today’s manufacturers and bikes? What aspects of today’s machines do you love and what are pain points for you? If you could do things your way, what would you change? Are there machine variants that aren’t being offered?   14. So, bought a stripped down bike (07 YZ250F) and the carby was already apart. (They lost interest apparently) can anyone tell me the part that is circled and what it’s for as it looks blocked off intentionally to me. it does not have a thread and pushes in and out. The parts breakdown I can find online don’t have this section apart so I’m thinking it’s been disassembled a bit too far? i bought a rebuild kit online for the specific bike I have and this part isn’t contained in the kit.
  15. At the beginning of the summer I bought a used 2001 cr125, it was rebuilt & in really good shape with only a couple easy things that needed fixed. Its like everytime I fix something, another thing breaks lol. So a couple weeks ago I broke the chain & it wadded up and knocked the shifter down a bit. It was fine after I fixed it & the time after I rode it & everything was great, but now when I go to shift to 2nd it only goes into neutral & then up to 3rd and so on. So I guess I'm wondering if this is an easy fix or what I should do? Its really annoying not having 2nd lol

  17. Hey guys! I’ve been having an issue with my 2005 cr125 lately, mid rpms are very weak, but at high rpms the bike rips. Here’s the story. I bought the bike in October last year, and the bike had a stutter in 1st and 2nd gear and would breakup above half throttle, but it didn’t bother me so I rode it for the rest of the season. Earlier this year I decided to try to chase down the issue. First thing I did was replace the reeds, nothing happened. At the time I had been looking into a lectron carb, so I threw on my friends lectron carb that was on a kx125 to see how it would run. It fixed the odd sputtering, so I decided to buy one myself. Here’s where this new problem started, I put on the new carb, bike starts right up and runs great. Upon first ride, I encountered the problem where my mid range was weak. I richened the carb quite a bit on the metering rod and power jet, and nothing changed. When I threw on my friends carb, I wasn’t paying attention to the rest of the rpm range. So the problem could’ve occurred then as well, but I couldn’t remember. Previous owner used a lectron on it before he sold it with the stock mikuni. What else should I check? This week I’ll put my friends on again and really pay attention to the whole rpm range. -new reeds, clean air filter, and 30hrs on top end (I don’t ride hard) video will be attatched. it may sound like a slipping clutch but you can feel the power increase dramatically from mid to top. https://youtube.com/shorts/A_16P0LayCg?feature=share Thanks.
  18. Hey guys I have a 2005 pitster pro 125x. I just installed Tbolts 146cc big bore kit with cylinder, cylinder head, piston and gasket kit. After installing kit I noticed when kicking it over oil is leaking badly form the lower left side of cylinder head. I checked crank case hose it’s fine it’s not plugged. I can’t seem to figure it out. Everything is installed correctly and torqued any ideas??
  19. Hey guys I'm purchasing a 2019 yamaha tt125 and are looking into future upgrades for it. I know I should modify the airbox but should I do that right away?   20. Hello, I have a 1975 Chaparral SX-100 dirt bike that I was wondering if one of your team members could tell me about. I have never seen or heard of this specific model before. Its white and has red and blue stickers on it. I believe it could have been a 200 year American anniversary edition but I'm not sure. I can not find any history on it and was wondering if someone could tell me about it. Help would be appreciated thank you
  21. Hi there I have a brand new 2018 yz 85 and it has not been starting as of late. It will fire up for a second but then when u try to give it some gas it will bog out and stall while in neutral. The spark plugs won't even last a week in my bike is there something i need too and how can i get it to start. Thank you!!

I have a 1985 YZ490 and they carb started leaking gas so i figured it wasn’t a big problem just the floats, took the carb off and cleaned the floats and it still leaked. woke up the next morning and it was fine, well then it started running very badly the next morning and i had no idea why, when i would give it gas if would pop and wouldn’t ride well. i took the carb off, cleaned everything and put it all back like it should be and i even put a new spark plug in it. the carb took a crap so i bought a new one, now it won’t start at all and pops when i try to kick it about every 10-15 times. HELP PLEASE
  23. Hi. I'm looking for a bike for an almost 15 yr old boy. He is 130lbs and about 5'5. He road a ttr90 until it obviously got way too small for him. I like the ttr becuase it is a 125. Also, he will rarely be riding it on a track and 90% of the time will be on trails. But I like the 85 because it is faster and it is a two stroke. What do you think? Thank You.
  24. Hey guys- I am at a point where i can move up to big bike if i want to. I am 15, 5"7', and growing. I have an xr100 now that has been fun for the past few months. my question is- should i get a big bike or buy like a klx110 and mod it out? Those little bikes are just so much fun, but on the other hand a big bike would allow me to ride more than just little trails and such. Also, all my buddies have big bikes so if i got a pit bike and modded it out i would still not be able to keep up with them. any input welcome. Thanks!
