  1. Hey there, new to TT. I have scavenged the internet for all possible answers to my problem. I recently purchase a 2003 CRF150f for my girlfriend. The bike ran but wouldn't idle. The guy claims he rebuilt the carb but had the bike sitting for 6 months or so. Got the bike home and tore the carb apart cleaned it all out. It has stock jetting by the way. Once I thoroughly cleaned the whole bike I put the carb back on and was able to get the bike idling with the fuel screw around 1.25 to 1.75 turns out. I was excited I got it to idle but couldn't get it to rev past idle. The rpms drop with the slightest twist of the throttle and the bike eventually dies. Looking to see if anyone has had a similar issue or would possibly have a solution. I still have the snorkel on the airbox but plan to remove it once I get the new jets I ordered. I picked up a 42 and 45 pilot jet, as well as a 112 and 115 main jet. It seems from everything I have read the 42/112 and 45/115 are the go to combinations with the snorkel removed. Thanks in advance for the help.

  3. So, I picked up a '03 CRF150F a few weeks back. Found out later that it had been rebuilt but UTI, supposedly. It has a BBR exhaust and has been re-jetted with a BBR jetting kit. Ran good until it started having difficulties starting. Changed the oil and it made it easier to start for about a week. Put in a new Rev Box because that's what it had in it, and that has fixed the hard to start issue. But even more lately, there's been a knocking or clunking sound from the bottom end of the engine. You can only hear this knocking sound though when the engine is returning to idle after revving it in neutral. And it has this knock or clunk whether its cold or warmed up, although it does get louder and more frequent when it's warmed. Don't know what it is and haven't figured that out, but when I was test driving it, I got up to fifth gear and all of a sudden it sounded like a valve or something from the top end broke. It was if the engine lost all compression because you could hear the air just blowing in and out of the cylinder. Pushed the bike forward and I could feel that the engine wasn't seized up, but trying to start it with the kick start wouldn't work. Wasn't able to start the bike so I removed the engine and disassembled the top end expecting to see a broken valve or one that wasn't seating right. However, the cylinder head is black and has quite a bit of carbon buildup, so I don't know if that would cause it. Or maybe a valve is out of adjustment or the timing? The connecting rod seems to be tight enough because when you pull the piston up and push it down, there's no slack, except for side to side, which is normal I believe. Valves? Timing? Carbon buildup? Something in the lower end? Any ideas?

I have a 2008 crf150f and when I took the carburetor off the other day and tried to put it back on , I was having a hard time with the top of carb with the throttle cable getting tight from the spring bending when I tried to put it back on, I loosened the throttle cable by the handle bars to make it easier to screw the bottom part of the throttle cable into the carb, now my problem is my throttle by my handle bars isn’t snapping back or moving like it should at all and there’s a lot of free play and when I start the bike it just revs up really hard and I have to shut it down, any help would be appreciated
  5. my last post i asked for help with the sizing for the spanner sockets. now im trying to figure out how to lock the clutch and keep it from rotating so i can remove the spanner nut. how can i lock it without the standard tool, and can i get it off without locking it if i just use an impact gun?
  6. forgive my great ignorance but im a new dirt bike owner and still figuring out how to navigate the internet. the clutch plates exploded during my last ride and so im trying to remove the clutch plates. however this bikes clutch plates are sealed in with a spanner nut. im trying to figure out what size spanner nut i need for the clutch removal AND the oil slinger. ive heard 20mm and 24mm but whenever i look it up i dont actually find it advertised for this bike.
