  1. 1 review

Ultimate lubricant for 2-cycle racing engines The most biodegradable 2-cycle oil available New additive keeps power valves and rings even cleaner Premix only, not for injection systems
  2. Yamalube, $12.00, best value but smokes a lot. Overall, good oil. Lucas oil 2 cycle land and sea, $15.00, great oil but creatse a lot of spooge. Belray MC1, $12.00 for a small bottle. Best oil I've ever used but costs way too much. Im sticking with yamalube. What oils do you guys use and how do you like it?
  3. Guys and gals, my apologies ladies:) So recently I bought my first diesel truck. A 2002 dodge 2500 cummins 4x4. Badass truck. Well I'm adding twc-3 2 stroke outboard pre mix oil to the fuel when I fill up to keep the fuel system lubricated. I also run 2 stroke outboard pre mix in my snowmobile. It's auto injection so there's a big oil tank I just dump oil in(as u all know). I bought it from a dude used who always ran Johnson outboard pre mix. What's the deal with outboard pre mix? Is it just better all around? My thoughts are that since a boat engine is always under a load during operation it needs the highest quality oil out there. The outboard engineers more then likely developed a pre mix oil to suit the lubrication needs of an engine that's constantly under a load. That being said could there be any benefit to running outboard pre mix in our 2 stroke bikes? I currently run honda hp2
  4. Im going to start to wear latex gloves when changing oil, didnt know used motor oil can cause cancer. Used motor oil contains Carcinogens, which helps promote skin cancer. Just for your information...
  5. I'm running out of my current premix (Penrite MC2ST semi synthetic) and have decided to try the yamalube 2r full synthetic oil. When I do switch over, do I need to drain my tank completely, or can I just add some new stuff in with a half full tank of old stuff? Thanks in advance
  6. What is the best premix oil and gear oil to run in my ktm 2t
  7. I found a nice little 1984 kx60 for sale and I want to buy it because I heard there really tough rugged and easy to access the parts I mainly want to get it because I want to use it to learn how to wheelie and take jumps without destroying my bigger bike but all I really want to know is how can I make make 2 stroke fuel and where do I get the supplies...
  8. Well I can't say this is my first time dealing with the cops as I was having fun on my dirtbike, but this time it was just not fair. I was riding in the ditches around my grandma's property and my neighbor who no one really likes called the cops saying, "I think there is a dirt biker that is trespassing on someone's property." The funny thing is, I have been riding there for over 2 years and ever since I got a 2 stroke everyone hates it, (with the exeption of me and my dad). Anyways got a super cool cop and he asked what kind of bike and such but he said I couldn't ride in the ditches anymore which I think is really stupid because my grandma owns the property where I was riding. My neighbor I know was just annoyed by the noise because he knew I rode their for a while. So I lost pretty much all my riding spots so I have to look for a new one . I will countiue to ride in the ditches until the cops come again because it's stupid and the nearest dirt bike track is 3 hours away. I will never stop riding! Keep riding everyone!
  9. Ok, so you want to go faster, isn't removing weight from a vehicle one way to accomplish this task?<<<this dude know's what he's doing! lol! Harley riders bob and chop their ride,<<<<<drool! So chime in if you have any weight shaving idears, and remember shaving is a good thing!
  10. what do you think ? true ? http://www.gizmag.com/honda-two-stroke-with-fuel-injection-patent-filing/38529/ does'nt sound like they plan on MX use but we can hope
  11. Wanting to ride trails all day without a backpack or some weird bag on my bike. Can never find a good place to hold my phone and really am out of ideas. Tried to fit it into an old ipod armband but was uncomfortable. Must have some people out there who have a solid way to carry a phone. I had seen some TLD gear that was made for mountain bikes but fit and material wise was almost identical to moto gear and had zippered pockets but haven't seen it sense then
  12. Alright I have a 2000 cr125 and recently changed the exhaust gaskets due to they where leaking more then I thought was normal and since I have changed the gasket it is leaking worse then before also shooting way more out of the back of the pipe too. I thought it was running rich so changed the oil mix around to play with it and see and it didn't help checked for cracks, made sure the exhaust was on correctly and still leaking I have ran out of ideas on what could be causing this so I turn to the help of you guys let me know what your ideas are and if something fixes it ill let you know but I need input asap. Thanks
  13. What kind of oil do you use? What ratio do u run and what kind of bike do u have???
  14. I don't see a forum that this would really fit in so I'll dump it here. I've been thinking I want a waterproof pant this winter for my rough trail riding. I need it to be built tough and with wear patches that keep it from getting holes on the inside of the knees like my mx pants do, and hopefully enough knee patch to help at least a little to keep them sound when going off once in a while. The only ones I see that look like they may fit the bill is the $350 and $500 models from Klim. I will NOT buy one with a coating of any such for the waterpoofing, it always fails, and 40 years of various purchases for hunting has proven that. What have you guys found that truly works with no bs?
  15. Just picked up an old two stroke Yamaha the other day for $200. I think it's a YZ 465. It runs supposedly but has just been left alone. It's not seized and was left alone because of the throttle being stuck wide open. It's got good compression from what I can tell. Any ideas on this bike? Here's a picture of it. It's dirty but all there.
  16. While waiting for the IT 400 shop manual to come in, I decided to put the TT600 on the other rack and see what I could accomplish on it. I don't think I'm going to need as many new parts on this as I did on the IT400 (we will see.. 😉 ). I already know of a few issues. I think the shock is leaking a bit. Uh oh... Chain is rusty, but sprockets do not show any wear. I need an air filter, brake lever. I cleaned the carb, but for some reason the choke plunger appears to be stuck.. I sprayed some cleaner, oil, WD-40 and tried heating the area with a heat gun several times but to no avail. Tried this several times. Right now I'm letting it sit and will try again later. It doesn't look like taking off that cir-clip shown below will allow me to remove it. If anyone has any experience with a stuck plunger, please chime in.
  17. Hello all, thanks for taking the time to help me out. I recently bought my first dirt bike, an 02 yz250. The service manual calls for Yamalube 4 10w30 or 10w30 motor oil equivalent. I want to go with Bel-Ray Gear Saver Trans oil instead, and on their website they have a chart saying 10w30 motor oil is equivalent to their 75w gear saver oil. But they contradict it by saying "Most commonly, engines up to 125cc use a 75w; anything bigger usually calls for the 80w." What is the better option, 75 or 80? I've seen guys with yz250s go with 80, saying 75 feels too thin, but after seeing what bel ray recommends it completely threw me off. Any advice is helpful, thanks again!
  18. About two months ago, I did a compression test on my new 2001 CR 125 and got 180psi. I bought it in November but it was flooding itself so I did some carb adjustments and completely fixed it. The previous owner said he got a shop to rebuild the top end. It was running like a top with Amsoil Saber at 65:1. I went through about 40 liters of gas with this stuff but ran out so I mixed some Amsoil Interceptor at 40:1. The fist day burning this stuff was extremely wet and sloppy; I went for a good ride in the woods. It seamed to run good, have lots of power, and everything else seamed to run normally. (Now it would have been hard to tell if I was loosing power, because it was wet and my tire is very bald. But it was going into power band) The next day I went for a ride but I wasn’t getting much power. I rode in a 70’ by 50’ patch of mud (it is a garden in the summer) and tried to wound it out in going in circles. I could not get it into power band, and on the second round, it bogged and died. I pulled the plug, and I have never seen it so fouled. The other strange thing I noticed was that my two-piece spark plug came loose. The top of it was almost completely threaded off. I put a different plug in it, made sure the top was tight, and tried to clear the bogging by winding it through the gears down the road. It just wouldn’t clear. Then I noticed the kick start was easy to move. I did a compression test, and it had dropped to 75psi. I ripped it apart and this is what I found. The head looks a little smashed up? the top of the piston was very fouled up The piston looked half decent, except for the exhaust side. It was very scored. If you look closely you will see a flat spot. This is the exhaust side. Hear are some more pictures. I'll post them and see if you guys can see anything different. The inside of the cylinder looked fine When I ripped it apart everything had a nice amount of oil on it Hear are some of my theories. Tell me what you think of them. - It overheated when I was in the bush. I did notice that it got hot... it was the fist time I could feel the heat when siting on the bike. - The previous owner could have lied, he never did rebuild it, and it just wore out. Those are the only things that I could think of. I just don't want to put a new piston in and have it blow up again because I didn't fix the original problem. It seams strange that it just lost compression.
  19. Hello, I just got my first two stroke and find the throttle to be a little sensitive. Has anyone ever put a stronger spring in the carb to add a little resistance? Would it hurt anything if I did? Thanks
  20. Manual for my new 2014 300 XC-W says 60:1 and I've never run a 2T with that high of a mix ratio. I'm a causal to fast trail rider and am using Motul 800 2T oil. Just want to confirm that 60:1 is safe before I mix my first tank of fuel for break-in. Thanks!
  21. I have been using Motul 800 2 Stroke Synthetic which works well. A few days ago on a ride, a mate mentioned he uses the Lucas 2 Cycle Semi-Synthetic "Smokeless" Oil and never had any issues with it.. He didn't appear to have any smoke coming out of his exhaust. Anyone else use it? Experiences? Being low ash I am guessing this also keeps things clean inside with minimal carbon. It works out about 1/3 of the price of the Motul where I live.
  22. Has anyone else had real good luck with Walmart SuperTech outboard 2stroke oil at 50:1? let the bashing begin 🙄
  23. Hello Everyone my name is matt, I have a few questions to ask. I'm looking into getting a KDX200 and don't know what items to buy when I get it. First I'm looking at different tires. I want a tire good for hard packed dirt, mud and rocks like "shale" which we get a lot where I ride. I like the Michelin combo you can get, I think they're called the MH3? I'm not sure. But just a all around good tire. Also, what premix should I use which is a good price and well made? I'm only looking into racing Hare Scrambles so I don't need the best stuff on the market. Just something that is high quality and affordable. On another note what engine oil brand should I use which is good? Same thing I want something high quality but affordable. I am a bit new to everything and appreciate your help. I'm trying to learn the most I can before purchasing a new bike.
  24. My 01 cr250 is starting to smoke more and more. Is that a sign I need new rings? I played w the air screw a little. Doesn't do much. Just messes up my idle revs. The bike still goes pretty good....
