  1. Has anyone installed and used a Checkpoint impeller? I see dirt rider had an article about them and I've been curious about them. I've been having overheating problems recently and after spending well over $200 on brand new radiators I've discovered the radiators weren't the problem. So I bought new piston rings since they were out of spec (supposed to be like .15 and they were .5) and then thought about buying one of these aluminum impellers to help the problem instead of keeping the flimsy plastic one. I've read mixed reviews about them. Has anyone had any luck with them or is it basically just paying for the same overheating problems to happen?
  2. Noticed that my 2007 ktm 300 was bottoming out with no real power and looked at the reeds(Vforce3) and the petals had a chip in one of them. I bought some new petals off of a ktm dealer and used them for about two hours bbefore the exact same thing happened. What could the cause be?
  3. Can you ask for a better gift under the tree than 2 of these? My son and I picked these up the other day after many hours of research and reviews. 250 XCs were on the top of the list until we came around and chose these for our 6'+, over 200lb frames. We couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to assemble them ourselves. Recall that lucky guy who recently won the Sherco 300 SER from Dirtbikechannel? Yep, my son drew the lucky number. That Sherco is what led us to the 300s. We loved the playfulness of the 2T and how light and agile it felt even though it was heavier than our 4Ts. It was just was too awkward, buzzy and unique for his taste so it went to a good home and the funds put into the TX300. I myself had a 300 listed as my dream bike so when he began the hunt I couldn't let him bite alone, hence two in the assembly area! We've got many memories to make on these together. We've already ordered some goodies as I know my bike will be with me a long time so the investment is warranted. Upgrades such as: Lectron Mule, AXP full skid plate, Turbinecore 2.1 and some smaller mods. Now to get back out there and finish assembling it so we can ride!
  4. I purchased a 2018 TX 300 in November and I been hearing about the magura slave cylinder failure on FE/FC/FX 450/501 but I was wondering if the 2 stroke models were having the same problems
  5. I am buying a used 2014 300xc from a local seller. I am looking for some advice on the initial maintenance that I should perform after picking it up. Background: His dad bought it new in 2014, selling it to him in 2016. He is selling it to upgrade to a 2017. The seller raced recreationally in some local enduros. The motor is untouched. Never rebuilt top or bottom. (seller said he guessed 70 hours, but I assume it's much more) It has a bent radiator (not leaking). New pipe. New Silencer. Says he just replaced the clutch pack, chain and sprockets. The bike looks heavily used, but for agreed upon price I am happy with it. What are the must do maintenance items I should perform before riding in the spring?
  6. ok so i bought the bike used and when i got the title from the previous owner it said ORV which stands for Off Road Vehicle and the miles says excempt. I have seen a dozen of these with plates in pa. i have contacted the dealership and they said if person buying it wants it to be off road vehicle then thats how they title it? soooo does that mean i can't put a tag on it??? how do i get the title changed because i know these bike are able to be on the street. 2015 300 xcw six days edition. btw im in york pa and bike was purchsed at cernics in johnstown pa
  7. We have been going on adventures every other weekend riding everything Michigan has to offer within a few hour distance of where we live. This is a short one of us playing around on the Moss Lake trails in Rapid River MI. It's not a bad trail, a little choppy for how many roots are on the trail but none the less fun as hell!

  9. For all of you lucky enough to own an '18 300 XC-W, what kind of deals could one get around this time of year? I know the '19s will be launching within the next few months. I'm wondering if I should wait until their release and save $$$ on a leftover '18. I'm on the eastern side of the U.S. by the way. Let's see the final OTD numbers!
  10. Hi, coming over here from the four stroke forum. I'm comming off a 500 exc and am torn between the 300 xc and xc w. I know it's probably a question that has Been asked a thousand times, but I have been doing searches here and elsewhere for the last couple weeks and can't seem to find any good info to sway me one way or another. If I had to pick one based on the info I've read, I would choose the xc. FYI I live in Pa. and ride mostly wooded atv trails and single track. My last 2 stroke was a 1991 300 mx (I LOVED THAT BIKE). Thanks for any input.
  11. Hello, I have a 2019 ktm 300 xc-w tpi and I'm trying to find engine guards for it. Does anybody know where a person could find any? Acerbis makes a nice set but can't find them for this bike.     Up for sale is the Japanese dual purpose unicorn, the 2019 Honda CRF450L in excellent condition. An early production Vin #86. I purchased this bike brand new in Fort Lauderdale as my 4th Enduro / Dual Sport styled motorcycle. The reason this bike is being posted for sale is because I am trying to purchase a new toy that costs nearly $ 25k. The tires have less than 500 miles. All maintenance has been completed before recommended by Honda. Some scrapes are present and to be expected on this style of motorcycle.   14. Hi Guys. I'm in the market for a different bike as mine isn't cutting it for me anymore. I have a 2010 KTM 250 XC and have the opportunity to buy a damn near brand new 2014 KTM 350 XC-F. I've heard a lot of mixed things about the 350, and was wondering what the owners of them have to say about them. I've read a lot about different years but haven't heard much of anything about the 2014. Can someone help me out?
  15. I've wanted a 300 smoker for a long time, and now I've decided it's the time to do it. I've been already pretty much decided on a 2004-2007 300 EXC, but then I started browsing my local ads and noticed quite a few of these EC 300s for sale. I can get around a 2007-2010 EC 300 for the same money as a 2004-2007 300 EXC, that's why I've been considering it. Does anyone have experience with both of these, preferably these years? It's hard to find head to head comparisons on the internet for these two. Do the EC 300s and pre-2008 EXC 300s have an adjustable power valve? How do the engines and suspension compare? The only thing I've found out from my research is that owners of both seem to love their bikes.
  16. Hello u guys I have to do a full service on my 2006 250 exc, it’s an eu model. I have a big big scratch on the cylinder, and I don’t want to reuse it. i’ve seen some things that I can do with it One of my wishlists it’s a 300 upgrade, and I need to know what do I need to change to a 300 convertion, and if you can tell me which other upgrades I can do with it, from newer models, like an electric starter, mapping, and other stuff, just because I don’t know if the parts of the newer models like a 2011/12/13 cylinder fits my engine. please let me know if you can help
  17. So.... To begin with, I'm a 15 y/o, almost 16. I'm 5'7ish, and weigh around 135 pounds. I currently ride a ktm 105sx, bored to a 115, with a flywheel weight and trail gearing. Long story short, I'm bored out of my mind on it. It's quite peaky in low gears, and has no torque whatsoever past third - I mean it's gutless. The top speed is around 45mph, and I hit that quite frequently. I do all of my own maintenance, meaning I am very familiar with all of the bikes I buy. I want a bike that has a lot of torque without sacrificing that two stroke snappyness, and something that is streetable for short trips to school or nearby trails. I've been looking at a ktm 300xcw, and I would like some input on if that is the right choice for me. Thanks to anyone who responds! P.s. I mainly ride my own woods. Around 200 acres of trails ranging from open and straight to steep, narrow and windy.
  18. Today, I was running a dual sport. The morning leg was advertized as being about 50 miles. I ran out of gas (premix) less than a mile from the parking lot where my trailer and premix can was. A few months back, I was riding the Hatfield-McCoy Rockhouse system, taking the trail from Man to Gilbert and back with six other guys on assorted bikes. I ran out of gas, none of the other guys had a problem. This includes guys on an older 300XC a 450XCF and a 200 XCW Is it something I'm doing? or is the tank just too small? I'm not thrilled about the idea of carrying a flash with premix in my CamelBak.....
  19. Hey all, I have a few questions. I just sold my 2002 KTM 380EXC and bought a 2008 KTM 300 XC-W with 373 hours. I did it because I didn't want to have to figure out how I was going to come up with money to do a crank rebuild in the future. But anyways I love it, although it isn't a 380. It has crazy CRAZY torque. I loved the power from the 380, and was kinda disappointing not having all that power right from idle, But the ability to actually lug the motor in the low RPMs and not stall the bike or boil it over... EVER. Made me pretty dang happy. Also the 300 is much quieter than the 380. Must be those extra ccs that contibute to the noise. Anyways, the other day I rode my bike around to warm it up, then let it idle for about 5min while I got my gear on... Right before I took off, I heard a Squeal and it shut down. I go to kick it again and it's stuck. I pulled it apart, and it wasn't the top end that was Seized, but the bottom end that was. I was able to wiggle it loose after a few turns but when the crank turns it isn't 100% smooth which tells me it must be one of the bearings. So I guess I'll be doing what I had planned all along. So back to my question, now that I will have the cases split, should I replace all the Transmission bearings along with the main crank bearings? Or do I never really have to worry about the Transmission bearings? There's a full Wrench Rabbit kit for $620 on ebay, which includes all bearings including transmission bearings, or should I just get the bottom end and top end rebuild which is close to $500? (I was planning on doing both top and bottom anyways).
  20. I'm and intermediate rider who rides very aggressively and on hard, but fast-paced woods/cross-country/harescramble riding. Sometimes I'll do technical, really tight trails, log crossings, and hillclimbs, etc. and I also will ride motocross tracks every once in a while. I currently own a 2008 KTM 250 XC-F with a bigger rear sprocket, FMF exhaust, aftermarket piston, and I typically run high octane fuel. I won't be upgrading for quite a while but I am planning ahead trying to decide what to save up for and all that. I'm sure this forum will also help others in similar situations. I'd like something that can top out faster than my bike but something that can accelerate quickly and have more torque as well. The majority of my riding is very fast-paced woods with hard corners and lots of roots and steep hills as well, so I'd like something that can blow through corners and accelerate quickly. But, I also ride a lot of tight technical trails so I'd like something that's torquey and has explosive, yet controllable power and something I can take over big logs and rocks. I'm fine with a bike that likes to be revved a lot as that's what I do on my 250xcf now. I'm used to four strokes although I'll probably adjust to a two stroke very quickly as I ride constantly. I'm leaning towards a 250 XC or a 350 XC-F although I've heard lots about KTM's 125 and 150 2 strokes, the 450 and 500, the wide ratio "w" models of the cross country bikes, and their respective motocross models just because I know how explosive they are. I understand that this is a lot to ask out of one bike but I'm going to be adding a lot of aftermarket parts to whatever I end up getting if it doesn't already have any. Tell me all about these bikes if any of you guys have ridden them! I'm probably going KTM because I've heard nothing but good things about them but I will still consider any other brands as well. Tell me any aftermarket you had to do, improvements to be done or downfalls of each bike, and all their advantages and things they're better at than the other ones if you've ridden more than one of these. This is more of a harescramble/cross-country racing post, but since some of my races have parts of motocross tracks I'd like to hear how they do on the track. Also, money isn't too huge of a concern with me but I will definitely not be able to get a brand new bike. I will be racing so if it's bigger than a 250 then I'll have to be sure that it can compete with bigger bikes. Thanks, in advance!
  21. Hi guys, I have EC 250 2008 racing and I have kind of rattle when idling and sticking idle. I set my mixture screw 1,5 turn out from fully closed and idle screw a lot in. Bike idles really fine no matter if cold or hot, but when I blip the throttle idle sticks higher and remains until I put gear and loose the clutch a bit or plug exhaust with my hand, than idle is back at normal speed. Can it be because air leak? I have sprayed chain lube on carb manifold and no change, so there is no leak, but maybe crankshaft seal?? Although I have rattle on idle that I think is normal for 2T but maybe not. I have very similar rattle on Husqvarna WR 125 which is after engine rebuild. Is it normal or not?   22. Hi All! I've had a read across the forum but would love it if someone with more knowledge than myself (very easy lol) could give me some advice. Ive just bought myself a 2013 beta 300RR factory edition. The issue with my clutch is when i pull the clutch lever in it never completely disengages, the bike still tries to move forward slightly or stall. Which makes downhill decents very interesting. From what I've read i should start with bleeding the system? Does this sound like it could be the issue? Secondly the bike is fitted with a fan (not sure if this is factory fitted or not?). I went for my first proper ride on the bike on Sunday and when we stopped halfway the fan turned on... and never stopped. It went on for about 30 minutes or so after i stopped. I tried unplugging it and then plugging back in but it continued to spin until my batter died. Should i fit a simple switch to avoid this maybe? Thank you all in advance!
  23. Something strange happened with my 16´300rr. In a race with plenty of mud, after 30 minutes racing and accelerating at 3/4 gas, no more, suddenly the bike kept going like if I was full throttle. Scared, pulled the clutch and it over reved, thought it was going to blow. Moved the throttle thinking it was locked but no change. Had to kill switch it to full stop. Fast check, no harmed cable or anything. Started it with no problems, ride OK and 30 minutes later...again, , and then... again... 3 times on a single race! :?: :?: No visible damage anywhere, no locked cable, no locked throttle.... she just "kept going"... The most bizarre part was killing it, and starting like nothing ever happened without touching anything..... May be a spooky carb issue? I really have no idea, tomorrow I´m taking the carb off but I´m intrigued....
  24. hey i just bought a 2017 300 xtrainer demo from dealer and the clutch wont engage. went to put it in first chattered a bunch and start going forward. i had to kill the bike.. i new to hydraulic clucthes and beta motorcycles.. could someone plz help me out wih some advice. thanx

Hi guys I took of my stator cover and starter. i Put everything back together in correct order but no spark dont know if there are any wires that could have pulled out or disconected Please if any body has an idea or know of anything i can look at it would be much appreciated..
