First time posting in TT for several years. Sooooo, I have been telling a buddy of mine who owns a local street bike dealership that if he ever got a franchise that sells street legal dirt bikes, that I would be his first customer. Been sayin it for 5-6 years, ... nothin. Then out of the blue he calls today saying he got a Beta dealership. Needs to send an initial order out in a few weeks. Wants to know if I'm going to order the 430 or the 500. Said I'll drop a deposit check off tonight but I'll have to get back to him on the model. I'm a plodder you see, I have no interest in killing myself to go faster than practicable. I'm 55 so arthritis is a frequent and unwelcome guest, which is becoming increasingly reluctant to leave. I have nothing to prove. I am in it for the places DS riding can take me, and the fellowship of those I ride with. I take pictures, smell the flowers, and avoid unnecessary risks. I don't want a torque monster that snaps my arms at every twitch of the throttle, so I thought I would order the 430, but the dealer said I might be better off on the 500 as it's power delivery is more linear. I find that curious. My current bike is an 03 yamaha WR450 which I'm not in love with, but it's got a plate, and it ain't a KTM. Is there any help from those here on which one I should put my money on? Your thoughtful opinions are welcome.

Beta4Stroke Beta 430 much heavier feel than the 390?

Yo wondering how 430 feels comparing to 390 in feeling etc. Is it much heavier/harder to control? I know they weigh the same etc just wondering how the handling on the 430 feels. Havn't find much answers on that question / salute -
After an email exchange with Tim at Beta HQ, I was informed the RS did in fact have a different tune compared to an RR. He told me if my bike was being used for off road and closed course competition, I could have my dealer reflash the efi with the stock RR tune. Seeing that I purchased the 430 RS for off road only, mainly to allow year round riding in CA, I'm really interested in having it reflashed. It worked wonders for my EFI mx bike and street bike. Just curious has anyone done this on stock exhaust and was it worth while? For the sake of saying Tim at Beta was great to talk to and responded to my email within the hour. I was very impressed and it definatly gives me confidence that support will be avalible if and when I need it.

Hey, dont mind me from other stupid posts. Do you guys know if the Beta 4 strokes are street legal in Europe? Im from here/there And wondering why the bikes in Europe dont is/look street ready? Just noticed this now what the f... Here it looks just like a Enduro bike with lights why?? Is it just the images here in Europe got choosed because it looks more clean/appealing that way and they do give you the numberplate, mirrors like the rr-s when you get the bike? Or do they not? If not, why would Italy , a country in Europe, make their bikes not street legal in their own country meanwhile their bikes street legal in another continent? I dont understand that part..doesnt make sense ,hope im wrong about this //Patric🙏

Fairly new rider with one year under my belt on a crf250l. I was thinking of going beta 430rs but a ride on my brother's 500 exc changed my mind.. I am a larger guy , 6'1" 245lb...We ride a lot of single track. Looking over the 350 and 500 they are the same bike minus the motor.. The motors are similar in power also with 350 claiming 45hp with the 500 in the lower 50s.. One just has more grunt on the bottom while the other is a screamer... The price is also a wash as I will be needing to add a fan to the 350 making their prices nearly identical.. Guess I am asking for some insight from other 350/500 owners on what you think is better or worse, pros cons.. Thanks in advance!
