Bought it used for cheap, great all around bike. Had my most successful moto season on this bike. Smoothest motor I ever rode. Coming off a 2012 KX450F

only complaint is that the front brake master cyl banjo bolt hits some handle bars so im limited to what bars I can run
  3. I am buying a new bike here soon and have been doing lots of research on all of the 450's. I am really considering a 2013 450SXF factory edition. Is it worth the price? Is there any major problems? Does anyone have one if so how is it?
  4. Hello I dident see any sort of "show ur KTM" threads around here, and since KTMs are so beatiful, I decided to make one! So here it is! Show us your hardboiled rice killer

Great bike. Truly "Ready to Race".

Loved everything about the bike except the forks. They are terrible. Actually caused me a good crash from the deflection through some rough stuff when racing. Bike was sexy though!

Great First Edition of the Factory Edition, HOWEVER, KTM should have put more upgraded parts from the factory to make this bike more unique... ***SOLD***

Andrew Short's 2015 SX bike - ridden in first 5 2015 SX races. Cone forks, Trax shock.
  19. Ok... here's my take on my first day on the new Factory Edition. Who am I? I'm a Vet A/B rider (depends on track). 45 yo / 178lbs. 5'11" I've had 2 previous FE's. I sold my last one and have been out for six weeks bikeless. Here you go: Cockpit: I find it to be much more comfortable and I find myself standing on the pegs more comfortably. The new look is fantastic. Everyone loved it. Levers and ergos all adjusted to my taste, so no complaints. However, I found the clutch lever seemed to engage pretty far out... even though I adjusted it in. Suspension. Depends on your taste. I prefer very firm. And it is! My last FE was done by Factory Connection and I was never happy with it. Today, I just rode and it felt great. Harsh forks? I didnt feel it. Rear seemed decent but I found a little kicking out on whoops or small jumps. Didn't dig too deep in to setting the sag. Checked at about 100-105mm left it for now. Motor: (DONT HATE) ... boring. No hit. Average down low and builds in a seriously linear rev curve to the top. I personally think its begging for a pipe as if it doesn't flow. Sad, cuz the stock header looks good and the slip on is decently hidden and not obnoxious at all to look at. Is it fast? Not KX fast. Is it slow, nope. It's just boring. Overall it really feels good to me. Sits high in the stroke and doesnt sink down in turns and spring up due to the load. Handles excellent. That's my take on it so far. Notes: The sub laminated numbers are a big fail. What were they thinking? However, the sub laminated stickers on the rear fender are great. I played with the map switch but didn't notice anything drastic. However, when I got home and dug through the manual it states the setting on the map switch (under seat) should be #2. Mine was on #3. So ... will have to try that again. Roost. Damn thing roosts your back. Especially the left side. While the styling lets your think no dirt will come by, think again. Potential problem areas: My shop owner warned me about two possible issues. The coolant line coming out of the head was resting against the exhaust flange area. KTM seems to think prolonged rubbing would be bad. So I zip tied it closer to the frame tube. Melting the side panel.... I was on my way to the track when he mentioned this one. I snagged some hi temp insulation tape. But I put it higher up the exhaust. Didn't think this spot was the culprit. Well, it is.
  20. I thought it would be super cool if everyone listed the number of their factory edition 450(12.5 & 13), and I'll include it in this first post. I hadn't found anything like this made already, so I figured I would get it started. If and when more people post in the thread, I'll update this original post when more numbers are posted. If you have any suggestions let me know. Upload a picture of the placard with your post.
