  1. Gave up on my search for a 690R this spring due to poor availability and high cost around here. Also working my azz off all summer. The good is the cash is in the safe waiting for the right bike. Found a 2014 with 1242 miles, cracked seat pan, new clutch cover and break lever due to a dirt "laydown". Adult owned, new rear, 50%front, FMF Q4, skid plate, handguards. Photos look good. Asking $8000. Meeting the owner tomorrow in Phoenix, anything special to look out for?
  2. Assuming some have mounted up a USB powerport on their 690 Enduro R? If so, can you post up some pics of what you did? I'm gathering ideas on options. I know KTM put power on ignition wires behind the headlight shroud. Wire Labeling ACC2 = hot when key in on position. ACC1 = always hot Image credit: http://690enduror.blogspot.com/
  3. Hello, I am new to the Ktm side of thumper talk. Just bought a 2015 Ktm 690 Enduro R. I have been looking at all after market stuff available for this bike and noticed it is difficult to find a lot of the things I like in the USA. I was looking at the Rumbux skidplate / radiator protectors / crash bars. Heard on a few forums they were having problems getting them for the 690 here in the states. Long strory short I have a friend that can make something similar to these bars/skid. We are going to start building the prototype on my bike. Is there any interest in these bars out there? if so post here and I will try to keep this post up to date on how the build is going. When we get done with the first ones we will assess cost and figure a price for them. Any input or ideas to make these bars better is welcome. Thanks everyone.
  4. Does anyone know if the oil that KTM puts in at the factory on a 2017 690 Enduro R is dino or synthetic oil? I want to break my motor in with dino, so I'm assuming that I'll need to drop the factory installed oil. But, figured that I'd see if anyone knows for sure. Going to be using this for break in:
  5. Kills the looks and likely some level of handling, but if you need the range, looks like a good option. Product link.
  6. I got this press release late yesterday and I thought it was share-worthy. I think it's safe to say that lightweight Lithium motorcycle & ATV batteries are here to stay and they seem to be getting better and better. Antigravity Batteries looks like they've taken things up a notch by introducing a smarter battery with "Restart Technology", a feature that will not allow the battery to be drawn down too low, automatically reserving enough power to get your bike restarted. What do you think of Antigravity's approach to the dead battery? __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ New Product Release Press Release Date: 03/02/2018 Los Angeles, CA Never get stranded again... Antigravity Batteries introduces the all new RE-START Lithium-Ion Battery. The first and only battery with BUILT-IN JUMP STARTING! Antigravity Batteries releases the all new, game-changing RE-START Series of Lithium-Ion Starter Batteries for Motorcycles and Powersports Vehicles. The new RE-START Battery, with “built-in jump starting,” makes being stranded by a dead-battery a thing of the past. For example, if a rider left his/her lights on overnight this would normally be a dead battery emergency requiring jump-starting, push starting or assistance. But with the new RE-START Batteries you simply press the RE-START Button located on the top of the battery, to access the Battery’s reserve energy, then start the vehicle and drive away. There will also be a Remote Key Fob Button Available which will allow the rider to trigger the RE-START feature without having to remove the seat or a fairing to access the battery. The new RE-START Batteries are the most technologically advanced Motorcycle/Powersports batteries ever built. They are the first Lithium-Ion Powersport Battery with a full Battery Management System (BMS) that actively balances the Lithium Cells while protecting the battery from over-charge, over-discharge, and over-temperature conditions. These built-in protections make for the longest service life possible, up to 2 times the lifecycle of Lead/Acid and other Lithium Starter Batteries on the market. Scott Schafer, CEO, states, “We’ve all been left stranded by a dead battery. It’s awful, frustrating, and in some situations, if you’re in the middle of nowhere, it can be very dangerous.” He explains, “Our objective as a leader in Lithium-Ion Technology for Motorsports was to create a vehicle battery that the customer can rely on and not worry about getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery, and I’m happy and proud to say we have done it with this new battery!” All Antigravity RE-START Batteries have a new 4-Terminal-Post design which allows for easy connection for the user, and the ability for the Dealer to carry less stock since one battery will work for right or left side connections on the vehicle. They also come in direct-fit OEM sizes, so there is no foam needed for installation as required by other brands. All the new RE-START batteries come with a 3-year warranty. Applications: Sizes are available for most modern Motorcycles and Powersports Vehicles, and Race Cars. Retail Price: Prices Range from $129.99 and up. Availability: Approximately March 1st, 2018 through Powersport Dealers and Distributors, Battery Specialists, and directly through the Antigravity Batteries website at antigravitybatteries.com starting March 20th, 2018 Contact Antigravity Batteries Phone: 310 527 2330 Email: info@antigravitybattteries.com Website: antigravitybatteries.com About Antigravity Batteries: Antigravity Batteries was established in 2009 offering high power, lightweight and compact lithium-ion batteries to those racing Motorsports vehicles. 7. For anyone looking for owner's impressions on the 2017 KTM 690 Enduro R, above is a link to my review after 450 miles of mixed use. Thx for reading. 👍
  8. I'll start with an ABC, 123 mod for keeping your registration & insurance paperwork under the seat securely... Heavy duty, wet or dirty Velcro. Clean seat pan and KTM documents pouch with some rubbing alcohol to get good schticktion. Voila! This Velcro is tough (strong) and I really don't even have to separate the bag from the seat to get to my documents... not that I get pulled over a lot.
