  1. Considering going Lectron to void having to rejet so much (Western Colorado and Utah, extremes in temp and altitude) and to perhaps get some more MPGs. My main concerns is that I don't want to lose any performance. My 2014 TE250 (250 xcw motor) runs great with sx head and has lots of torque, and snap when I need it without being overly "twitchy" (no big hit) Will I still retain the grunt and the snap to lift the front wheel with the lectron? Other thoughts?
  2. I just picked up my new 2017 Husqvarna TX 300. This bike has the worst out of the box jetting in the history of motorcycles. I love the forks, shock, turning and overall handling. But the Mikuni is a disgrace. Husqvarna should have budgeted the extra cost of the Keihin and not put this tuning disaster on the back of consumers that paid almost $10k for a dirtbike. I have a 2006 CR 250 with a Mikuni TMX 38 that runs great with race (sonoco 110) gas. It did require some fiddling, but I did get it to work right. The husqvarna on the other hand has been impossible. The TX300 is having jetting issues with low speed operation. (extremely sensitive about humidity and air temp) Poor engine response and feels like will foul plugs if throttle is not blipped constantly. Current setting. 35 pilot 6BFY43-73 needle (2nd position from top or droppedone position). Update I installed the optional 68FY43-73 needle (2nd notch down) and re-adjusted the air screw. It made a incremental improvement. The 43-73 starts the taper lower on the needle so it the equivalent of a half notch leaner from the 44-73. Air screw out 2 turns (I adjusted and optimized air screw at approx 1200 rpm). Spoke with Sudco and they are being inundated with calls about this Mikuni TMX 38 carb. It's got issues. The light at the end of the tunnel is that JD Jetting (I spoke with them yesterday as well) is working on a new needle, nozzle and pilot jet that will hopefully fix the slow speed issues. They have 5 needles on the CAD system and are machining them ASAP. The alternative is to purchase a Keihin (Kay heen) carb from a 2016 KTM. Note to self, don't go ride your 2006 CR 250 after you purchased a new TX300 for almost $10,000. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Rob

  4. Just installed a 36mm lectron carb on my ktm 200 xc. Starts up and when I was barely moving, I give it WOT and the bike bogs really bad. What should I be adjusting first? Air screw, Power jet, or the metering rod? I looked at the tuning instructions that they have, they say to go to up on the power jet size, do I need to turn the power jet left or right? I am super confused. The bike idles good, if I do small blips of the throttle (in gear/neutral), but if I go from 0-100 while in gear moving, bogs.
