    ArcticCat Wildcat

Here's the info Arctic Cat has available for the new Wildcats! http://arcticcat.com/sidexside/model/view/WILDCAT There is a lot of excitement surrounding their release. They are said to put the RZR's in the dust, but I have yet to ride one. Hopefully sometime soon. You can see that they have ride dates posted page above. Anyone want to argue the RZR's case? How do you think the Wildcats will compare? Do you think that they will sell quickly, or will dealers be sitting on them?

  5. Hello All! We are having a no start issue with my Dad's 2014 Arctic Cat 500EFI after a recent roll over. A bit of history on the situation: He rolled it front on completely upside down breaking the upper cowl, gauge cluster board and damaging the upper part of the wiring harness (Along with 4 broken ribs, a torn ACL & chest trauma!!). When I rolled it back upright and tried to start it, it would turn over but not catch. There was engine oil dripping from the airbox. I'm assuming it flowed from the valve cover vent hose. The guage cluster was not functioning and I could not hear the fuel pump when switching the ignition on. Currently: We repaired the wiring harness. The wires were skinned but not severed. We re-soldered them and covered any exposed areas with heat shrink Replaced the cluster with a brand new unit Engine oil level is correct We observe the following: When the ignition is switched on we do not hear the fuel pump The cluster does not power on with the ignition but lights up when the starter is cranked The plug is dry indicating no fuel You must pull the brake in order to crank even when in park The headlights work properly The motor will turn over but not start Anyone have any experience with this? Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Cheers! Matt

  8. Arctic Cat adds three 4x4s to its 2011 lineup Powersports Business Friday December 10, 2010 Arctic Cat has introduced three more additions to its 2011 ATV lineup, including a sub-$5,500 4x4 model. The new additions include: • The 350 4x4, which Arctic Cat calls the “best value 4x4” in its lineup. The 366cc four-stroke ATV features an enlarged front rack to compliment new bodywork, and a rear SpeedRack that offers dozen of accessory attachment options. • The 425 4x4 (MSRP: $5,999) has new bodywork that features sculpted fenders, headlights and grille. It also features a 2-inch automotive-style receiver hitch, digital instrument pod and Start-in Gear capability. • The XC450i 4x4 is deemed by Arctic Cat as a “crossover” as it has four-wheel drive but is also a “sport-inspired” ATV. A rear-mounted sway bar keeps the rear of the new model planted during aggressive cornering, while ground clearance is an industry-leading 10 inches, the company said. The new model also has an electronic switch on the right-hand control that makes going in and out of four-wheel drive easy.

    ArcticCat WOW!! Rough ride!!

Just purchased a leftover 2009 Thundercat 1000 (950cc). I knew the suspension was more firm than my Honda Rincon or my King Quad 700, but this thing is a rolling torture chamber on rough trails. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, have you attempted a solution, such as reshocking, etc?
  11. Hey guys! I work for an Arctic Cat dealer in Tennessee, Garry Griffith cycle ( http://www.griffithcycle.com/ ) Our Arctic Cat rep. just stopped by, and we talked about ordering the new Wildcats and let me know that the Wildcats will start being shipped out in January of 2012. Also, this October, they will be doing a demo day at Durham Town Farms ( http://www.durhamtown.com/index1.htm ) featuring the new ride. For the dealers, orders will be taken there, and they will be in high demand, so if you want to pre-order feel free to contact us. If this is repeat information, I'm sorry. I didn't see another forum talking about this. Thanks guys, Jeff Griffith
  12. Powersports Business Tuesday July 26, 2011 http://www.powersportsbusiness.com/output.cfm?id=2810503 Arctic Cat Inc. released new information today about its much-anticipated Wildcat side-by-side. Retailers saw a tease of the vehicle at the company’s annual dealer meeting in March. The all-new vehicle, the 2012 Wildcat V-Twin 1000 H.O., will launch with class-topping 951cc engine displacement and 18-inches of suspension travel, and it will be the company’s first side-by-side vehicle intended to be a fully sport-focused model from inception. It will augment the company’s lineup in the growing side-by-side category, which currently includes three recreation-focused Prowlers and the new-for-2011 HDX utility model.

ArcticCat To oil or not to oil?

Doing a service on a new to me 2000 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 and I discovered a foam air filter in the airbox. No distinguishing features or brand name, looks like it's 2 stage foam. Bright blue coarse foam outside, thick dense dark gray foam on the inside of the filter. Removable metal spring inside the filter so it holds it's shape. Would this be an oiled filter or no? It doesn't appear to have oil on it now, although it's hard to say if the previous owner knew or cared. Appears to be dust in the intake boot also. I'll try and post a pic if I can get it to work. Any help appreciated, I'd like to get this thing up and running!!

    ArcticCat 400 Artic cat

this machine runs idles ok but. when you go to exccelerate it starts poping through the exhaust and is blowing black smoke. almost sounds like a rev limiter but it is right from the bottom of the rpm range. any ideas were to start
  23. Have a 97 454 Arctic cat that starts and idles fine. Runs fine on flat land but as soon as you start up an incline or put a load on it it seems to just loss power., Very slugish.. the clutch isn't slipping, First gear feels like 5th gear.. Just no get up and go. Took the cam out to see if the intake lobe had rounded off like a lot of the Honda Rincon and Rubicons are known for but the cam seems fine.. Each lobe has a flat spot on the opposite side so it seems like thats just the shape of it,., Still egg shaped like it should be, very little wear showing.. Valve clearance is spot on.. Any help would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks in advance... Nathan..
  24. Picked up a dvx400 as a play quad today. Cranks and cranks but doesnt start. But pop starts within like 5 feet. Where should I start to look ?
  25. I'm having some issues with my wife's four wheeler. It is a 2006 Arctic Cat DVX 400. It was working fine the whole time we've had it, I went out mudding with a few of our friends and got a little deeper than I would have liked, but water never penetrated the air box. I didn't have any problems during the ride (except when my buddy almost ran me over while pushing me through some mud) and now I'm having starting issues... At first when I would try push the starter button, gas would pour out of the carburetor bowl through the overflow tube. I was stumped, so I drained the bowl. (Can't turn off the fuel because the only two settings on the petcock are "On" and "Prime", it was explained to me that this was due to an electronic fuel pump that didn't allow fuel to flow while the engine wasn't turning over.) I tried starting it again and more fuel came out. I decided to capture the fuel (to avoid the mess) and keep trying to start it. The fuel eventually stopped coming out and the motor started. However, when I touch the throttle (no matter how slightly) the engine immediately dies! I checked the air box for any signs of contamination or blockage, there were none. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.
