**2018 KTM 300 XC** (TT is behind on their model year options) Amazing quality and performance. Best bike I've ever owned just in the short time I've had it. The engine felt a little meh with the stock Mikuni carb, but now it breathes fire with the 38mm Keihen. It's gonna be hard to go back to riding a big bore 2 stroke without a counterbalancer. When was the last time the suspension was a strong suit on a katoom?!? Let's just say I can no longer use the SSS argument to defend my Yamaha... Ktm has raised the bar and changed the game with this one! -

This review is early early! How early? Just the break-in ride of just over an hour. I'm still very much in the honeymoon stage, so I'll do a more comprehensive review as the hours rack up. On my first day I rode both trails and motocross. Trails were fast & flowy with lots of smaller hills and rollers to launch from. The bike is fast with being a monster, so it's easy to ride and not tiring. It has good bottom-end power and the mid range on up is plenty exciting, even in Map 1. Suspension is firm and controlled w/o being punishing at baseline settings. It was little soft for some of the bigger mx hits or when I came up short, but not too bad! The air fork is highly adjustable, so I'm sure I can dial it in for a day at the MX track w/o too much issue. But, I'm not an MX guy for the most part, so I'm sure that I'm less demanding that many on the track. Brakes are typical strong Brembo units, hydro clutch is better and the handling is light and easy to change lines. So far I don't hate anything about the bike, but again, limited time on the bike, so subject to change as I gain more seat time. -
I'm looking for some radiator guards for my '02 250. Seems the main options are Devol and Works Connection, and neither are very appealing to me. The Devol cages seem flimsy and ugly. The Works Connection are only a brace. Then I came across AXP, which looks durable for side impact and uses the stock louvers. All three in the same price range. Anyone try these out??
