Great motor, great suspension, great handling. Rides better than it looks. Fast as eff. Easy to work on and maintain. A keeper for life. Needs a few mods for added comfort on the road, but overall, there's no bike I'd rather be on.

Its a 10 year old motocross bike, with very low hours. Perfect for an Enduro conversion. This bike astounds me. One day I'm riding MX on a track, the next I'm riding in the desert on single track. Its unstoppable, and just so easy and forgiving. I love this bike.

I picked this bike up new cheap. I want a smaller bike in my stable, and this fit the bill. Electric start and short seat height, mellow power, and decent brakes. I have ridden this bike in some pretty hideous stuff and it fared well. I use it for slow technical stuff as it is not fast. A skilled rider can easily out-ride the front fork at speed. I have trained a TON of people on this bike and is fantastic for training new riders. I ended up dual-sporting this bike, but is still used primarily off-road. There is a reason these bikes are still made!

Perfect bike for deep woods trail riding. Added front light helps with riding at dusk, easy to convert to street and get plated if you wish to blast down some public dirt roads.

What's the point of owning it if I can't give it 5 stars?! Seriously, I'm new to the dirt bike world. I've had a Harley, but never played in the dirt. I bought the bike and I'm completely going through it, and making it a dual sport and street legal. The only thing I won't touch is the motor for now, as it was just overhauled before I got it. I think this bike will have more power than I need and will put a smile on my face every time I ride her.

  13. I'm building up a CRF450X for the Baja 1000 and need opinions on lighting. Should I go with LED or HID? Specifcally I'm looking at the BD Squadron LED or BD dual 8" HID lights. I like how the LED lights are compact and protected from a crash, compared to the HID that stick out far. What's your guys thoughts?
  14. So the snow just wont quit here in New England, and the frozen sled trails have been awesome. Me and my buddies have been heading out at night to keep out of the sleds way. I bought this light on amazon for $45 shipped to my door. It draws 22 Watts so its no big deal for the bikes electrical system to keep up (as long as the stock light is disabled). I printed some plastic mounts with my 3D printer, and they have worked slick. I say screw rewound stators and high power HID setups. Here is a link to the light. It does come with mounting hardware. http://www.amazon.com/Kawell%C2%AE-12LEDs-4x4-suitable-Off-road-Vehicle/dp/B00GB9SNTE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1395435085&sr=8-6&keywords=kawell
  15. Can anyone suggest a good sealed battery to replace the baja designs crap behind the headlight of my XR650R? I am assuming a small lawn-mower-ish battery will fit in that area and I can custom-wire it up.
  16. Hello YZ 400/426/450 Owners, Bailey here with Baja Designs. We recognize ThumperTalk as one of the go-to sources for information on the Yamaha YZ 400/426/450. We would like this thread to be a General Discussion area for members and guests to discuss Dual Sport Kits (DSK), Lights, and Lighting Acessories based upon stock and modified charging systems. Please Post up if you have any questions or comments YZ 400/426/450 related! Thanks!
  17. This seems like the best place to post this as this Headlight is not make/model specific and everyone who has one hates it's mediocre light output. I like the styling of this light so I just wanted to upgrade it. The only write-up I could find was years ago (ADV-monster?) and no specifics on how it could be repeated by someone else. So here we are.... I pulled out the stock High Beam reflector assembly to get measurements so I'll start there: I went to Home Depot hoping to find maybe a small plate of aluminum, kickplate etc that I could use for my adapter plate to mount my new Baja Designs Squadron R light to this assembly. I took the old glass reflector for sizing comparison. After scratching my head for a while and stumping a few well-meaning employees who attempted to help me think outside the box for about 1/2 second each I came across this steel cover for an outdoor electrical box that was the PERFECT outside diameter. That saved me a TON of time as I only needed to notch the outside in a few places and cut out the inner hole the new light fits into.
