  1. Hi I wanna buy a new bike and have seen a 2017 200cc 4 stroke Chinese bike for around 500 usd. It's cheap enough for me to afford and on top of that the seller sent me a few videos of it running and it all seems in good condition along with receipts showing a full engine rebuild recently. Is it worth it?
  2. So I've got a 2015 rm85 that I absolutely love. I started out on a crf150f and ended up trading with a good friend for the 85, but it's my first ever 2 stroke. The first day ripping it was amazing. I had all the confidence from the comfort I felt on the new 85. Then I wrecked, took a handle bar to the neck, and ever since I've been weary of the power band kicking in. I wanted some advice, other than, "you just ride it." Cause I have some questions... 1. Will riding the 85 too slow (not in the band all the time) cause premature failure of the rings? 2. How much differently do I need to ride this bike? I loved the luxury of a steady throttle on my 4 stroke, but this 85 can't be ridden the same. I've been told that too slow will foul a plug, but too heavy and steady on the throttle in a single gear really winding it out for too long could blow the top end. 3. Any tips for trail riding and deep ruts? I'm going to Durhamtown again soon and want to be ready this time. 4. Does loading it up and fouling a plug run the risk of damaging anything other than having to replace the plug? 5. How do you handle track riding? I see a lot of guys fluttering the clutch, but I don't understand why. I know it keeps the rpms high and in the power band, but does that cause the back tire to chop by engaging and releasing the clutch so frequently? Thanks in advanced for any tips. I'm a new rider and a mom, so I gotta be safe out there and take any advice I can get to put to good use. 😁
  3. Hey guys! I soon plan to get a new Honda Crf125f and Crf110. Im wondering if these bikes will work as everyday play bikes for a beginner looking for some fun? These bikes will be my firsts! I will be in the countryside and explore on small roads etc so no motocross or serious trailriding. Im 5'10, 145 lbs. I really want to master how to use a clutch thats why im considering the 125f instead of a second crf110 for example, because i think 2 different bikes would be versatile and good:) Do you think this is will work out?

  5. I’ve been wanting to get into dirt bikes for a while now, my uncle has been riding since he was 7 and I find it to be awesome. My step dad says he wants to start too. I’m 14 5’10, and I weigh 180, a little on the chunky side. I want to start but I don’t want to over pay, I also want a bike that will last me a long time and something I won’t outgrow. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  6. I thought I would share some positive news on what's happening at Tahuya. There is going to be a area for entry level kids and new riders. This area will be a place parents can bring new and unskilled children to ride. The area will be closed off to the trails. There will be a large flat area and a course with some small obstacles that you would encounter on the trail. People have been asking for a safe area to learn now there getting it. The area will be next to the dirt parking area on Elfendal road. It will be a couple more months before it's ready. One person as been instrumental in making this happen. Hopefully he will see this post and can fill in the information and take the credit he deserves.
  7. I got a bike and have been loving every minute of it. I have learned alot in the past few weeks but I am sorely lacking internal engine knowledge, gearing, and electrical. Does anyone know where and what engine I can buy (preferably) unassembled? I need to see the inner workings, really get an intimate knowledge of it so I can properly diagnose and maintain my bike and future bikes. Must have gears so I can learn the whole transmission thing lol. I dont care much to mess with 2 strokes atm so I'm thinking a 4 stroke engine is what I should get? And idk anything about electricity on a bike/engine but if that can be a part of it I'd also want that. Please assist me, I am new to this mechanic and biking world but it's got me hooked and I need to dive in and get a better understanding. Fyi...the cheaper the better lol
  8. Hi Everyone, I know some of us have badass wives and bike size doesn't matter that much. My wife is working on it. Long story short, KTM 250 xc-f vs Honda 250f (the trail bike not the mx). This would be her first bike. I put her on a quad for 1 day and she wanted to try a dirtbike. Used my buddies crf 110 pit bike for a day and she wanted something larger/ faster after an hour. She is 28 and 5'7" 150lbs. She is a pretty good mountain biker. She is able to ride blues and easier blacks at bike parks and walk the big drops. Both wheels on the ground at all times however. I am all out of bikes to barrow and its time for her own rig. KTM 250 xc-f vs CRF250F. I know the bikes are way different. I could be naive, but my 2019 350 excf does not hit that hard, so I thought MAYBE I could buy once cry once with a KTM xc-f. Dont want to get her a street legal bike. On both bikes Id run: 1-Seat Concepts low seat 2-Rekluse clutch 3-1inch lowering kit from KTM factory for KTM KTM is lighter and better suspended . CRF250F is cheaper and designed to be easy to handle I'm sure. We would mostly ride double track jeep roads. Unless she suprises me and wants to try some mellow single track. Thoughts ? P.S She has not tried my 350. I have the stock clutch and I don't want her to be overwhelmed by stalling and hate riding dirt bikes.
  9. I'm 27, female, 5' 10, 150lbs and can't figure out what bike would be best for me. I've ridden before and know the basics but I haven't been on a bike in 10 years and am not very experienced at all. The riding i will be doing will be mostly trail riding ,maneuvering through trees and open cut lines. I sat on a yz250fx - too heavy and couldn't kick it over, took my fiances yz250 for a ride and enjoyed the size of it and how light it was but i only got it up to 3rd gear in a field so didn't fully experience what it is to ride a 2 stroke. I test drove a yz250f and wasnt a fan of the feel of the bottom end torque that seems to pull you forward anytime you even touch the throttle, not to mention I've been doing some reading and it has been said that they're pricey to maintain, and repair. I'd like to get an enduro bike with wide ratio gearing but would prefer something I can grow into, not be scared off of and won't leave me wanting to upgrade in a year to a higher cc. I've done a ton of research on the 250x but keep wondering if it being a 250 2stroke would be too much power for an inexperienced rider, if there is an unpredictable power band or if the wide ratio and smooth gearing would make it easier to learn on and adjust to. I don't have a lot of money to be throwing at engine repairs so would like something that is reliable, easy to maintain, a 2013 at the latest and at max $6500cad (sadly KTM and husqvarna are out with this budget) Do I go with a lower cc 2 stroke, the 250x or a 4 stroke enduro? Any insight is appreciated!
