    Great bike! Tons of power! Suspension is great. Will need heavier spring rate if you are a larger rider. Experiment with gearing for better feel. GYTR tuner is a great investment. Love it!!

    So far, awesome machine! Changing out the 14t sprocket for a 13T makes a huge difference! Stock exhaust dropped 10 lbs off the bike and removing the rear fender/ lic plate assembly for a DRC Edge2 install dropped another 5 lbs and cleaned up the tail end quite nicely. Stock tires are find for light trail riding, but slippery hard pack or muddy conditions really show how a tire that does well on the street, makes for a lackluster woods tire. I have had this bike on technical terrain and the stock suspension has faired well. I am 190 lbs and the rear shock did require some addition of pre-load. Suspension upgrades are on the 'to do' list on down the trail.

    What's the point of owning it if I can't give it 5 stars?! Seriously, I'm new to the dirt bike world. I've had a Harley, but never played in the dirt. I bought the bike and I'm completely going through it, and making it a dual sport and street legal. The only thing I won't touch is the motor for now, as it was just overhauled before I got it. I think this bike will have more power than I need and will put a smile on my face every time I ride her.
  4. I recently bought a pair of ($300) knee braces based on the advice of a friend who rides MX. I've been wearing the braces every time I ride, but am finding it a little difficult to squeeze the bike between my knees. Are knee braces overkill for single track trail riding? The trails I ride keep me in 2nd for the most part and rarely 3rd, so I'm not going very fast. I used to wear knee pads and am thinking of reverting back. I'm not going off any jumps or drop-offs. I really just need something to protect my knees in case I take a spill and drop kick a rock or root with my knee. What do you guys think?

    Amazing bike. First FI bike, not missing the carb one bit. Clean manageable power. Had some flame out issues when I first got it, but after adding a Yoshi exhaust and getting the ECU remapped by Toyko mods that issue is gone. Ditched the Dunlops MX51s and went with MX32s and couldn't be happier. Love it so much I had to go all out making it a one of a kind. Tore it completely apart and got the frame, swingarm, skid plate, rad braces, and triple clamps anodized black.

    I've had this bike for two months now. With a healing knee and a few feet of snow outside, I haven't been able to ride it yet. What I know so far is that the Enduro Engineering debris deflectors, radiator braces and clutch cylinder guard install really well. Putting around the block, this thing has some nice POP considering my last bike was a 250F. On the down side, engine vibrations seem to eminate quite a bit through the handlebars and foot pegs; and the KTM Powerparts aluminum skid plate is completely bogus! The whole thing is a pain in the ass to install and the mounting hooks don't even fit (skid plate is currently being held on by 2/3 of the hardware), I see myself getting a better one in the future. Aside from that, beautiful bike!

    This was my first dirt bike, after a lifetime with ATV's. It scared the crap out of me many times in the first few years. Now that I've gotten used to offroading on 2 wheels I'm finally doing some power upgrades.<br /><br />Love my CRF 250x.

    I've added over $4k of modifications to this cycle shortly after purchasing it. I'm intending this cycle to be a dual sport in purpose, and a USA BDR rider in particular. So, it will see freeway roads and speeds in excess of 75 MPH with hours of seat time slabbing it. It will also see sketchy two track and possible some single track, mud and for sure, some deep sand. So, *lots* of different conditions will be in view during the build, and as you consider the mods I make, please keep in mind my purpose for this cycle. Everything is a trade off, a compromise. Including cost. For instance, I did not / will not add a Rally tower or Rally type lighting. It's just too darned expensive for my purpose. But, I *am* big on protecting the cycle from hits and drops. So, I build out a layered approach to protection, with an eye on weight since I'll have to pick it up when I drop it. I'm also big on protecting *me* in these various environments. I can do something about the (my) body protection with various clothing armor pieces. I try to be seen, too. So, I'm big on lighting up the front, back and sides because drivers need to see me as best as I can make that happen. Sure, BDR riding does not need all that lighting. But, getting there and connecting the trail bits via roads *does* need it. So, it's on there. I referenced a lot of other folk's builds, picking out the pieces that I thought would be beneficial without adding too much weight, cost, or just too "blingy" for my taste. Kudos to Rocky Mountain ATV.com, and ADVPulse.com for their build descriptions. I also bought from KTM Twins.com, but I'm not very happy with that experience (returns take forever, and they dinged me for a lot of cash, for doing it). Probably not buying from them, if I can help it, anymore. Have a look...

    I just got the bike but just riding it on the street and cruzing around the block this bike is sooo smooth and it just amazing! I'm almost speechless! Every old bike iv ever bought and had to put thousands of dollars into it to make it remotely close to this bike out of the box bone stock!
  12. Hi, I'm looking to put some braces on the radiators of my 14 y450. I'm looking at either the work connections guards or the Enduro engineering guards. I'm only riding at the track and I don't care much about the devol or flatland ones. Out of those 2 (wc and ee), which ones would you recommend? Thanks.

    This is my 2012 KX250f.. Factory connection suspension, Yoshi carbon fiber full exhaust. Too much list. This bike is a real monster.

    My previous bike was a 2016 KTM 250 XC-W. The 250cc two stroke just works for me, so it is no surprise that the 2017 model fits me like a glove. 6 hours done and the following things stand out: The motor - smooth and with almost no vibrations. It also needs less clutch work than the 2017 model and seems less prone to stalling. The size - the bike feels much smaller and compact than the previous model. I'm 5'8" and feel much more able to boss the bike around. The handling - the bike reacts very well to steering inputs and remains planted at speed and whilst going slowly The components - the clutch is light. The tires are good. The plastics are tough. The saddle is comfy. And the downsides: Suspension is soft. I'm 77kg (170lbs) without gear and I'll probably need the next stiffer springs The carb is unknown amoungst KTM owners and is not as easy to set up as the old Keihin. The reeds don't seal 100%. I sanded the cage and got the reeds to seal a bit better. Makes a big difference. So far I a really liking this bike. Some suspension work, maybe a Lectron carb and some vForce4 reeds and it'll be perfect

    2stroke 300s are a separate class and enjoy a colorul history of being "almost perfect". The 2017 TE300 is no exception. There was a lot of worry about how the new suspension would perform since in past years components didn't perform up to expectations until after an expensive re-valve - adding to the already premium cost of the bike. The new Xplor forks and DCC link shock work very well with stock settings - and no one has reported (yet) how they perform AFTER break-in. The jetting sucks. You'll get close with the selection shipped with the bike, closer with jets you'll buy but jdjetting.com has a kit that works LIKE THE OEM SHOULD and will save you the owner/tuner much effort. 5 stars minus 1 for rich jetting and incorrect selection to get you there.
