So it ran just Fine and I left the gas off and just took off really fast and when gas right now it locked up the piston code there was no oil Move the ring Show it locked up I gently worked the piston back-and-forth with some oil and cylinder and got it freed play a new brain in it and try everything another son and it still won't start what it might be?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
  2. I have a cr85 and when ever I blip the throttle it doesn’t return back to normal idle it keep reving higher and after I stop the rev is really high iv adjusted the idle but it’s like the throttle gets stuck on but the throttle is return back all good. Any one know how to fix this, ask me questions cause I might not of explained it very well.
  3. The problem is it won,t start off the kick start, but it will start with a push start. I,m thinking crank seal ? How can i check this? Its a 1973 yamaha 360 2 stroke. Very simple machine>single cylinder.

I bought a 2005 cr85rb for a playbike on the farm, but its a real pain to not have a kick stand anyone know a company that makes the pmb and trailtech don't. or if a crf150rb kickstand will work with my bike? I don't want a moose swing arm stand I'm afraid it will interfere with the chain. its a real pickle!
  5. Ok so I put a new piston and ring in my honda cr85r and still nothing it don't even seem like it wants to so could it have been knocked outta time and if so does n e one know the correct way to put it back in time? Your help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
  6. Hey! Wondering if anybody knows where I can get a new kickstarter for a 2003 cr85r. Can't find any aftermarket in Canada. Or OEM. Any tips are helpful someone's gotta make one!
  7. I have a 2003 cr 85 it will not start. I’ve just replaced both crank seals. Air filter. Cleaned carb. Replaced plug. Repacked silencer. Rebuilt top end. And still will not start unless bump started. Once warm it will stall when your off the throttle. Could my stator be bad to the point it doesn’t give enough spark to get it running? Or is this a fuel issue? Thanks in advance
  8. Hey guys first post on here, I recently purchased a 2005 cr85r, the man said he had just done a new top end. (Lied) 2nd day of riding the bike after having it jetted properly, running klotz 32:1 on 93 octane fuel I noticed the bike began to lose power. I figured the mechanic that jetted the bike may have messed up the jetting. Rode the bike for around 2 hours and the power just went away gradually untill eventually the bike died and would not start. Lost all compression. My first move was to inspect the top end, and upon inspection I found a severely damaged piston. The piston itself is scored up beyond belief, and the cylinder has residue on it I'm guessing from the plating coming off. What would be my best course of action? I have a $300 budget to repair this bike. Also, I would submit photos as I was wondering if the cylinder can be reused and have some images maybe you guys could give me some further info but I can't figure out how to post an image? Thanks! Edit: figured out how to add images, they are attached. What should I do??

  10. Alright so I have a 2006 Honda cr85 2-stroke that was running just fine for weeks, but then I shut it off and tried kicking it on again but wouldn’t start. Pulled plug out to see it was really oil/gas fouled, bought a new plug, cleaned carb to be safe, put it all together and it started up just fine no issues. Ran extremely well until I shut it off then tried to kick on again. Would not start. Repaired spark plug boot to try to see if maybe it wasn’t sparking enough, cleaned plug again, and fired right up first kick, ran great. Once again, I shut it off and tried to fire back up but it wouldn’t start again. Seems to me that every time I mess with the plug and clean it, it starts, but when I shut it off and pull the plug, it’s really fouled. Every time I kill it then try to fire it up it won’t budge. Plenty compression, I am really confused and need some help here.

I have a 2004 Cr85rb and I’ve only had it for 4 months now n so far I’ve only done 4 oil changes and I don’t know the amount I put it honestly but I poor oil until it starts coming out of the the drain bolt on the clutch case side and recently my bike has been acting weird it runs with no power I’m guessing it’s the clutch plates because I turns on no problem idles has good compression just that when I ride it the rpm dose not match the speed. when my new clutch plates come in the mail should I still keep that method of posting oil until it’s start coming out or just I only add 600ml like it says on the bike The oil I use for the engine is Honda hp4 high performance 4-stroke Motorcycle oil synthetic petroleum blend

Today i was riding down a gravel road near my house that is a few miles on the way back home while i was riding back home i felt like i was locking up, so i slowed down but the bike was still running! It could not go over 25ish (i know because of my trail tech endurance) i coddled the bike back home and read it might be as simple as the air filter of spark plug, Is this possible? Or could it be something like a value is stuck, like my dad thinks it is?
  14. My cr85 is losing power on top. You can feeln it just revving and not going anywhere .similar feeling to powervalves not opening. Has great snappy bottom. Raising front wheel easily. I have tried rejetting leaner or richer in the main gets nogood change. I have swapped full electrical from a good working 04 cr85 ( cdi plug coil stator flywheel) still falling off at full throttle. New oem crank seals ( ign and clutch side)installed as well . Air filter cleaned reoiled. Sprocket sized oem spec. Gas mixed 32 to 1. New oem clutch kit installed both (plates and springs) Pressure tested no leaks. Bike starts easily 2 to 3 kicks cold.1 to 2 warm. New vforce3 reeds Any other ideas im very stumped .fed up

  17. Hi guys. First time using this site. Let me know if I need to adjust anything. I have a 2003 cr 85 with a fresh top end, clean carb, new reeds, new plug, new filter. Bike will not start unless it is bump started, once running when it hits powerband it almost sounds as if it is hitting a rev limiter. I’ve gone over all electrical. It’s all in spec I believe. I’m wondering if I need to replace crank seals? Would a bad seal make it hard to start the bike cold? TIA

  19. I'm wondering if I can put a crf150r/rb front fender on a cr85r/rb. I'm not a big fan of the cr85 front fender so id like to put the 150r fender on it, will it fit?

Please help me out if you can guys I just got a 2007CR 85 big wheel the thing is in amazing shape it runs mint it starts first kick but I am noticing that it keeps spitting out coolant from overflow , the first time I changed the oil wen I got the bike it was milky for sure I was uneducated n didn’t realize till I showed someone the video of me doin the oil change n further looking into wat milky oil looks like anyways I changed the oil not even noticing any problems yet I was just tryna do maintenance on bike n look into it an the bike was still running mint at this point I still didn’t even notice it spitting out coolant not sure if it was all out by then or just not spitting any out anyways bike was still running mint until I noticed it getting hot few days later wen i finally drove the bike a lot more then the usual lil 20 min rides ripping around the neighborhood plus it was 95+ Degrees out those 2 days I was actually riding the bike for a bit so I wasn’t sure if it was overheating or if I was paranoid n it was just hot days and 2 strokes might run hot was a thought since it is my first 2 stroke bike so anyways I started to check coolant and it was low so I filled it and since then I realized it has been spitting it all right out the overflow so I did research n I figured it’s the head gasket after reading about the milky oil so I checked oil right away to see if it was milky cuz if it was milky I would know head gasket but to my surprise it was super super clean and perfect no water or milky signs at all it’s been about 2 weeks now I drive bike everyday for about 20 min if that it always runs mint except one morning wen I started the bike for first time that day the bike felt like it had wayy less compression then it usually does just wen I kicked it first time that day but after I started the bike it still ran mint and after I shut it off and kicked it over again compression has been back to feeling wicked strong again like as if that never happened the bike still runs mint no bogging ever n it always starts first kick I’m paranoid cuz the milky oil that one time that the bike needs a head gasket n is over heating and spitting out coolant because of it but at the same time no water at all has been in the oil since then I’ve changed oil about 3 times in 2 weeks or so n its always super clean oil never has even the smallest lil amount of the milky texture or color like the first time it looked like dark coffe with creamer poured on top so I know there was water in the oil that time after doin research it sounds like head gasket but just to weird to me since that one time it has not happen again at all and like I said I’ve changed oil a few times since then too, so I’m goin to change the radiator cap tomorrow even tho it seems tight and also wen the cap is off u can see it has a nice strong circulation everything is working and flowing with coolant system it seems, I wanna think it’s the head gasket but it’s just so weird to me that since I changed oil there has never been water In there again and I still have strong compression plus it’s not like the bike is smoking or leaking oil from the pipe and the head is not leaking at all , the guy I got bike from said it was totally rebuilt but sat a lot since the rebuild I test drove it before I took it home and started and drove great and kept running great but wen I checked coolant for first time it was super low so I filled it and since then it just spits out over flow no more milky oil the bike has never lost power or has ran weird on me there has just been few days I felt the bike was real hot n could be over heating my gramps just thinks I’m bein paranoid n it’s fine so I don’t know please help people let me hear some thoughts and advise also sorrry for such a long post but I like to be as open n detailed as possible because I already know all the possible things it could be pretty much so I tried to be as detailed as possible to try n provide the best info so I can the best answers or possibly someone who has had same exact issue to tell me how they fixed it soooooo thanks for taking the time to read this and get back to me anybody and everybody that does thanks for ur time and opinion
  21. Hi all, I have a quick question. Recently picked up a 2007 CR85R that smoked a lot. Popped off the clutch cover to find the previous owner did not seat the seal correctly. I changed the seal and seated the new seal properly. Upon start up, the bike is still smoking a fair amount. It does run better and start easier. I`m wondering if you guys think this is from the residual oil that passed through the previous seal? Thanks in advance!

  23. Hi, new on here and can’t seem to find anyone with the same issue after quite a bit of searching.... Recently purchased, 2004 cr85r goes into first gear but then will not move, the chain just slaps up and down again the swing arm. I’ve don’t want to go ripping into it if it’s a problem that can be solved without doing so, but I doubt that! the bikes appears to have had a full rebuild as all gaskets are visible and clean, I’ve replaced the piston anyway as a precaution but now come across this issue. all other gears work fine, any ideas?
  24. Hi I have a 03 cr 85 and after about 2-3 hours of riding spark plugs completely goes I take it out and clean it and doesn’t make a difference when there’s a new spark in it will run fine any ideas ? Thanks
  25. Most of you may be familiar with the KX300 Woods Build I did a while back, and now it’s time to get my garage ornament CR85 off the ground. The goal is to completely rebuild it from ground up as either another woods bike, or pit bike. So far I have started the tear down and will be patiently awaiting funds for parts, but in the mean time I figured I’d build a thread for anybody to follow and comment their ideas/experiences. The bike has been seriously neglected over the years, but surprisingly (besides the usual bearings, too and bottom, suspension, drivetrain, etc.) the bike is in decent shape. I will be following something similar to what I did on my KX, which is also due to get a revalve this summer which is long overdue. Anyways here’s some pictures so far.
