I love this bike just as much as my 97. I just never cared how it looked. She performs great though

I've rated this bike highly simply because it's such a nice example of a very significant vintage bike. The 81 CR was a one year bike that marked Honda's move from twin shocks to the Pro Link single shock system. It also marked the move from air cooling to liquid cooling and the adoption of air assist forks. As such it is quite collectible. Inaccuracies in the restoration are as follows. The number plate backings were originally black, but I like the way the white backings look. Simple fix though. Non original silencer. I have the original but it needs to be rebuilt and the DG one looks good and works better than the original. There should be a small wire mesh screen mounted just behind and slightly below the front number plate. I'm still trying to find one but might just fabricate one instead. Non original tires. Other than those points this bike is a nice original restoration. Now I just need to find some vintage team Honda riding gear to go with it.

i picked this bike up at a yard sale August 2nd 2015 for $500 and have spent a lot of my free time working on it to get it to where it is today. it is not a show bike i still ride it like it was meant to be ridden.it has a lot of life left in it and it will easily keep up with all the bikes i have rode with. keep it up on the pipe and it will take care of you. its a real screamer to you can hear it coming a half a mile away. i am very happy with this bike and its preformence i have only good things to say about it other than its sometimes difficult to get started.

I bought this bike back in February 2016 for $1,100. It is a 1996 Honda cr125. It has aftermarket reeds, hot rods crank, fmf fatty with silencer, renthal handlebar, protaper grips, ASV shifter, and new clutch lever. It is technically not a 125cc, it has been bored out to fit a 55mm piston, so it should be about 135-140 cc's. As of Early May 2016, the bike is currently in pieces and waiting for a new throttle cable. The bike blew up mid-March 2016. Due to the lack of money I have, fixing the bike takes a long time for me. I'm thinking about selling it in (maybe) 2 years, then I will buy a newer cr250.

It's pretty good for a Honda.

Needs more bottom end lower stock but it is my favorite 125 2 stroke

By far the best snap any 125 2 stoke has! Over 300 hours on my piston and I took my cylinder head off the the piston looks in incredible condition, plus a compression test yestarday of 150 psi!

    Honda CR125R (1998)

My last racebike: CR 125 '98. If you watch closely you'll notice a '90 Mugen cylinder. Awesome engine up to date!
