  1. I purchased a JNS Engineering LED headlight for my 2009 DR-Z400S. The headlight comes with a main connection to hook up the low/high beam and also an extra wire that powers daytime running light bar. What I would like to do is wire that extra wire in for the daytime light to always be on. Then splice a toggle switch in to the headlight main connection to be able to toggle off the low/high beam (just daytime light on and low beam off). Would this be easy to do? What should I wire the daytime light in to and where should I splice a switch to the headlight?
  2. I noticed that the newer DRZ400S's have passenger pegs stock, was wondering if they are essentially useless, or actually somewhat useful for a short ride?
  3. How would you set up a DRZ400s for Colorado? I'm considering buying a DRZ but I'm worried that I won't be able to ride around town at 5000 feet elevation if my bike is set up for 8-12 thousand foot mountains. Is there a way around this? In other words, how would you jet a DRZ for 5,000-13,000 feet?
  4. I Was considering a tail tidy type of kit. But also, I've seen other folx who have basically chopped the section below the license plate off on the stock unit. I've yet to see any1 go into detail or post pics specific to this, so if you've done it.. could u post a pic / link? Im curious how it actually looks , and the different methods used. Also , did you have to remove the fender to do it? If so, seems like i might as well replace it at that point.. lol (to be clear, Ive got no issue with the rear white fender, its just the old black 'ImADualSport' fender that hangs way down ) Also, If i do go the 'fender-eliminator' route, I'm wanna reuse the stock turn signals.. ( i prefer the bike to be seen as much as possible..those integrated tail/turn signal units just look too hidden) thx!
  5. I've gone through several sets of tires on my 2001 DRZ 400S. Pirellis mostly. The front tires always wear like this, every other knob in the center is completely gone (down to the cord on this MOTO Z) but the rest are hardly worn. Can anyone explain, is this normal? My buddy said his Kawasaki did the same.
  6. I thought I'd ask the experts on this one for any tips or tricks. I installed a kicker kit on my 01 S in May. I have had a steady oil leak out since I completed the work. I made sure the gasket and case was clean and flush when I put it on and I've checked to make sure all the bolts are tight. My thought is that the problem is the gasket that came with the kit might be lacking in quality compared to the OEM gasket. I ordered an OEM gasket and I have it ready to replace the other this weekend hopefully. I'm 99.9% confident its related to the install of the kicker kit as it didn't leak before and I haven't had the bike go down since the work. Should I use any red RTV when I replace or just run the OEM gasket? Thank you ahead of time.
