Just got her. Need to wrench a few items, but I hope she is a wonderful mistress. I have named her Gertrude.

The DR350SE is about the most fun bike I've ever had. It goes anywhere I wanna go and has never let me down. The most fun bike I ever had was my first one (of course) 197? Honda SL100 the second was my V-Max (only had 1 week insurance AHHHH!) The DR to me is the best of both street and off road the right size to pull of both competently.

Bought this bike used as a project bike for $800 with 17K+ miles on it. With the exception of the carburetor needing to be changed out it's in relatively good shape for a bike of that age/miles. Thing's a workhorse.

Simple, reliable and light. I've tried to be better offroad than my bike, but I've no chance.

Great putt putt bike that I can zip around on the streets. It's been great for camping, but can be a bear to jet.

Well, I just bought it yesterday! It's been almost 30 years since I owned a dirt bike and this is my first dual sport. Stand by for further..... PS since I have to give it a rating in order to post, and based on the decals the previous owner put on it, I will give it a 5 on Faith!

Good all-around bike. Could use a bit more power.

Overall feels like something that is bulletproof and could survive a few seasons of the Walking Dead.

  22. I purchased a 1996 DR350SE last fall. It started and ran fine and I rode it a few times before putting it away for the winter. Couple of weeks ago I got it out, changed all fluids and fired it up. It started immediately and settled into a steady idle after a couple of minutes. But the minute I twisted the throttle it immediately stalled and died. This happened several times. So I pulled the carb, gave it a thorough inspection (no apparent gunk), gave it a good cleaning anyway, reinstalled it and still had the same problem. I've tried several adjustments I found in various forums with no success. Most are about DRs that won't start. Mine will start fine, it just won't run when the throttle is applied. I have not touched the throttle cable or linkage in any way. Looking for any advice I can use to get it back to riding condition. Has approximately 12k on the clock. It has an FMF muffler, a custom header, a slightly modified airbox with a hole cut in the top and a mod that allows the air/fuel mixture to be tweaked easily. The carb jet is stock, in fact there are no mods to the stock CV carb. It does have a replacement petcock without a vacuum line, just a fuel feed tube. I drained the tank before I put it away so it has fresh gas. As I mentioned earlier it ran fine before I put it away for 3 months and it starts immediately. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I'm out of ideas at this point. Thanks in advance for your help.

Great all around bike. A little tame for more advanced riders(at least stock). As long as its got oil and gas it cant be stopped.
