  1. I suppose this could also go in the video forum, but my purpose of posting this is just to show a cool perspective of the top riders split decisions in line choices, and making new lines. Pretty cool video to watch I think
  2. Hey everyone I have an 03 cr125, with a good skid plate, a lectron carb, wrap around hand-guards, armadillo pipe guard, and a pipe that I am 75% sure is a Bill’s Pipe. what I am asking is, are there any crucial parts/mods that I am missing to begin hare scramble racing? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!
  3. Okay so first of all right off the bat obviously my clutch keeps burning. BUT! Before you go off and ask me if I’m doing things right.. Keep noted I’ve been racing my entire life and am a Double A offroad-racer going through training coaches and professionals even who have won gncc’s i can assure you I’m doing everything right and riding the bike as i should. Secondly manually slipping the clutch is an absolutely normal thing is actually a must have for racing, i slip the clutch a lot but knowing my boundaries by how much i should slip my clutch, and how aggressively. I know when my clutch is slipping, when something’s wrong, or when I shouldn’t be slipping the clutch. I’m using Ams-oil 4T engine oil. And after my stock plates burned a while back i put on tusk plates. Although having tried Pro-X with the same result. The only time even very rarely my clutch stands a chance at burning would be on a major hill-climb, but even then it’s not enough slippage to fry the clutch! I’m getting a fried clutch every &%$#@!ing 35 - 40 hours and im pissed it’s too much money. I’m not sure if there’s any air in the clutch line/lever. I’ve only got 220 hours on the bike so i’d have to give it a look although doubted. People often talk about plates being blue or warped. Mine are just straight up &%$#@!ing black. Im trying to give you as much information as i can but I don’t even know what could be the reason. The bike should be able to handle my abuse, that’s what’s triggering because if you’re gonna make a race bike it better be able to handle a racer and it doesn’t quite seem like it can. Is there any other reason why i’m having these issues? Ask away, i’m glad to answer. Here’s some pictures. HOWEVER!! One thing to note, i am using a midwest engineering clutch lever BUT i tune it every single race to make sure it doesn’t fry the clutch. The midwest lever makes it easier to pull the clutch in, Ive got some tighter springs on my clutch to keep it from getting fried.
  4. Any advice on a good rear tire for GNCC? If you had to pick one for all tracks/conditions. Must be for a 19 inch wheel and wear-life must not be below average. Thanks in advance.
  5. GNCC was cancelled for this weekend. Looking for a place to ride/race? Come out to the VFTR Moonshine Enduro and Halfmoon Jr Enduro. The Halfmoon Jr Enduro is for children and is ran on Saturday. The Moonshine Enduro is for adults 16yrs and older and is run on Sunday. Please see attached flyers. Hope to see you there!
  6. Watching the racerX highlight reel and noticed a few of the guys getting a new complete rear wheel. At the very end when KR comes through the announcer mentions him not taking the rear wheel payed off for him.. whats going on? Are they destroying rotors or sprockets or something? Is it just to get a fresh tire?
  7. All, I recently moved to Asheville NC and started putting together a list of all the races from the two local series, North Carolina Hare Scramble Association and Mideast Hare Scramble Association, as well as the national races that I wanted to go to. Turns out there is far more racing around here than just those series. I had to shorten the list to only races within 2 hours of Asheville + a NEPG. We are in the mecca of woods racing!!!! Also, if anyone lives in and around the Asheville area and would be willing to invite me to ride with them on private or public trails I would love it! I am a 33 y/o A class woods racers (C class MX racer). I am happy to ride with anyone including C riders if they like to push hard. I like single track and hard enduro and I like to ride hard. See below list.
  8. Relatively new guy, I'd like to hear what you are running for XC-style races (at any level) that is successful, and more importantly, what has not been successful... 1. What region of the globe are you at? 2. Do you run Tubliss, HD/UHD tubes, or mousse? 3. What kind of tires/combos are you running for your terrain? (mud, rocks, mixed sand/sugar sand, rutted trails, grass) 4. What setup have you tried that you'll never go back to? ***If I dropped this in the wrong section, please move to appropriate area***
  9. Only a few days left cant wait to get there and camp and do some grilling out. Will get there early friday hope its not to wet. There is a 40 to 50 percent chance of rain all week. Could be another mudder.
  10. Hello !! to start i have a yz250f it’s never had any issues but recently started to smoke a little and have low compression at our last race while riding it would just shut off and be difficult to start. I let it sit over winter and recently got back around to fixing it decided a top end would be best. Ordered a yamaha oem kit with gaskets and a piston and rings. Tore it down everything looked okay lots of carbon bulid up on bottom of head. With a pretty black spark plug. Bottom end is good no play moves freely. Put a new piston in. i ended up breaking a c clip and using some from ace hardware on both sides honed the cylinder and put it back together. Put the cams in tighted it all up put the tank back on kicked it once. good compression let it all the way back up tried to kick again locked up. When it was just bottom end and cylinder piston moved freely. I thought maybe timing was significantly off. There were multiple marks on the fly wheel so i lined it up with all 3 tried all three same result kick and then a lock up. Any advice will be great ran good this summer until october. Thanks in advance- Zeb
