  1. Not really sure if this is the right spot to post this so my apologies if it is. Anyway I just put a new throttle cable on my yz250 as the old one was fraying, put it on with no trouble reconnected the fuel line turned the gas on and fired it up, as soon as I started the bike it started leaking gas out the overflow on the bottom of the float bowl, I took the float bowl off to see if the floats were stuck, they weren't, I tried adjusting the throttle as much as it would go and it continued to leak. Any ideas what the problem might be?

  3. so I found an old truck. I am 15, and this would be my first vehicle, (besides my Rm80) I realize it is a project and don't mind that. (my Rm was the biggest pain in the butt) the real question is how many problems, and what problems it will cause me in the future. it has quite a few miles on it but it's a manual. from my understanding the biggest thing in those trucks is you want a m a nual trany. sound like it n eeds a new ignition but still runs and drives? not sure how that works... the lady wants 1,000 for it. I will post pictures and PLEASE let me know your thoughts.
  4. This is a battle I have fought ever since I got my bike. I have had the carburetor rebuilt, also re-jetted with a JD Jet kit. I have the 160 main jet, 25 pilot jet, and blue needle on the 3rd clip. 3X3 mod, yoshi exhaust, and this is on the BSR36 carb. When the bike gets warm, when I come to a very hard stop the bike slowly drops in revs and dies out. I am trying to get better at stoppies, and every time I put the back wheel down the engine is already dead. I cant progress any further unless I get this issue fixed. I have gone through all the vacuum lines, made sure there is no fueling issues up until the carburetor. I have pulled the bowl off many times thinking that the float is stuck and I have never found it stuck. If anyone has any ideas of what it could be, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!   5. So I don’t have a garage or out building. I also don’t have a bike I’m just thinking through logistics at the moment and ran into the issue of I’m not sure where I’d store extra gas. Figure I’d maybe store the bike inside in my basement. But I’m not super comfortable storing gas cans in my house. Also it would be a trail bike so I couldn’t just ride to the gas station as needed. Anyone else here without a garage or storage building available to them like me? What did you do?
  6. Today I was riding my CR85R when I noticed it’s running weird. It seemed like i was hitting the rev limiter when I should have been in the meat of the power. So I put in neutral and slowly reved it up while looking around the bike. It smoked a little more then it usually does before it died. I tried kicking it over a few times but it wouldn’t start. So I pulled the plug that was pretty fouled up. Then took of the head to look in the cylinder and saw the normal cross hatching. I checked the air filter but it was fine. Any thoughts I want to have it fixed by Friday for one last ride with my bud before winter comes. Thanks ps I do have spark.
  7. I have a 2015 YZ250FX. The bike is hard to control in the low end because if any throttle is given it lurches forward hard. It is so bad that if the bike is in first gear it can walk forward while idling. The bike is very hard to take on trails because it sometimes has too much power than what I need. Is there any way to mechanical fix this? Can it be tuned out? I can live with the problem as when it us on a track the power is instant and it makes it a lot easier to corner, but it is too much for trails.
  8. Hi, I have a 1996 XR100 which has a gas tank that I have had problems with ever since I got it. The petcock leaked really bad when I got it so I tried to take it off and the metal things used to hold the petcock bolts in the tank stripped. I have used jb weld, 100% silicone and some craft glue and nothing has worked. Hey everyone i bought my first bike for 2.2k it is a 2011 kx250f , the previous owner used it for racing and used racing fuel i was wondering if i could put 93 instead without damaging anything a buddy was concerned about me putting 93 in there with a high compression piston and ported heads this is the description of the bike from the sales post (btw great people i bought it from they really loved this bike and i dont want to destroy it right away by somthing as simple as gas) Fully built pro circuit motor with about 2 hours on top and about 30 hours on bottom end. It also has a pro circuit ti-4 full exaust, mx tech suspension, excel black rims, avs levers, newer tires with a few rides on them, fresh oil change & much more. Comes with extra front fender and radiator shrouds. Graphics in pics are not included. Questions? Please ask. UPDATE** several questions about motor information, here is some info... The motor has a pro circuit modified and ported head. Stage 2 aftermarket cams. Hot Rod rod with all new bottom end bearings. JE pro circuit high compression piston.
  10. Hey there. My 2007 CRF450X has had issues my last two races of stalling out when it gets to roughly 50-60% full tank. Both times, same amount of gas burned, it stalls out. I can start it back up briefly after opening up the cap and tilting the bike sideways to fill the carb. I’m thinking it’s either an issue with the tank not breathing properly, or the screen is clogged on the petcock. Any ideas? The first race was a Hare Scramble in 40° weather, stalled it on my 3rd lap, about 22-24 miles, and an hour or so in. Second time was an Enduro, but I hadn’t had a chance to stop because I sucked in test 1, falling several times, but it started stalling out on an xfer section about 26 miles or roughly 2 hours into the thing.
  11. Hi every body I have a Gio X31 250 4 Stroke, it is been so difficult for me lately. I have been working on this bike for a while and have replaced the piston in it. Right now the bike will not start and its boggling me. A few noteable things are that I have checked that there is spark but when I turn the engine over it does not combust and I see thickly misted gas come out the tail pipe. Also, I have checked the timing and all the marking are correct and valve opening times (checked tapits and TDC through spark plug hole). On the compression stroke there was noticeable air coming out the intake which was blowing gas out the carb, so I took it apart and the valve looked like it was sealing completely fine. I don' get it, the carb float level was also adjusted to stop gas coming out the overflow but, I'm not aware that that would affect anything. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.
