  3. So recently I went riding up in Utah's Wasatch Mountains, and as usual I took my Gopro. I have always mounted my Gopro on the top of my helmet so that I can get the helmet out of the picture as much as possible. As we were riding, I saw a couple low branches but didn't worry about them until it was too late. The Gopro hit the branches and got caught in them which caused my helmet to be forced up VERY harshly. Could have nearly decapitated me. It happened to me again which was very scary, probably worse than the first. It pulled my neck pretty hard which hurt, I recieved some whip lash, had a concussion, and also cut my face pretty good because the helmet was forced up. Overall it just really hurt and scared me a lot. The question is... where do you guys mount your Gopros?
  4. Not sure if this is the right place to post it, but i just got a FOX V2 2014 helmet for my birthday and am having some trouble at putting my gopro on the top. I was just wondering if any of you guys have had this same problem and have a solution to it.
  5. Just curious on who here has a GoPro? what are some of your setting you like to shoot at? I got the Hero 3 Blk edition. so far loving it. i got it almost a year ago and just started using it. (busy with work all summer) ive been playing around with the 2.7k or the 1080 @60fps. with protune on. i use to render my videos in the gopro studios... but i was very unpleased with how they would come out. the videos would be very grainy, or choppy. i switched to using adobe premiere pro cs5.. it takes much longer to completely render the video...but the final product is 100 time better than gopro studios i find. what are your thoughts about software, mounting, and the gopro accessories?
  6. where are some cool places people have mounted their gopro, i ripped the mount and epoxy cement stuff right off my helmet so im looking for other places til i get it fixed. so far, front fender was a no-go. wasnt too shaky from engine, just all the bumps... the angle was really cool and worked out well though! Any ideas?
  7. I picked up a GoPro last night. I'm super excited because I ride with my sons and am REALLY looking forward to capturing our rides. Now, instead of getting through the dead of winter by living vicariously through other people's youtube vids, we can watch our own. I noticed the camera housing comes with a solid and a "skeleton" back door. This will be my first time using a GoPro. Does the open back option allow for significantly better (or worse) sound quality? Is it worth potentially exposing the camera to dust or water? Does a lot of dirt/dust accumulate inside the housing when using the open back? I really want the sound of the bike engines, as well as our conversation to be clear....but obviously want to protect this expensive little investment. I know there are a lot of experienced users. What are your experiences with this? I found this video on youtube, and it sure seems to sound better with the open back.... I'm guessing the difference should be similar for us riders, even though my camera will be helmet, and not vehicle mounted... Thanks in advance...
  8. well after finally getting the go pro after pre ordering it almost 2 months ago i finally have it lol and WOW i am so impressed. just went out to the local power line trail to test her out in 1440P @48 FPS Check it out and let me know what you think,, also would love to hear about any mounting opinions you guys have as well. Many more to come soon so be sure to subscribe 🙂 Chris
  9. I have the Bell Moto 9 helmet (presumably the same one Stewart wears). The mounts included for the GoPro3 black edition do not seem to have a good place to go on the helmet. The curved one does not have a flush mount on top, because the helmet has a crease in the middle...Is there an extra mount I need to buy, or do I need to get a Shoei VFX-W? lol

GENERAL DESCRIPTION It's small and waterproof. Only $200; sounds like a good deal! WRONG. My GoPro glitches out and stops recording. I did some research and it seems to be a common problem, online. I lost some priceless footage because of this piece of shit. Gonna' try Hero4 Silver or Black. Save your self the anguish and pass on the "Session"; the software is buggy and will make you lose out on the "moment".
  13. This is my first attempt at video editing and I look forward to learning more !!! For this video I used a GoPro HERO3 Silver edition set to 720p at 60fps. Any comments, advice and suggestions are welcome ... 👍 I know I posted this video in another thread already ...
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScTsNoRhzug My lowest standards are 1080p! Have a beer and watch this. Click on the YOUTUBE button to get full experience (1080p)
  15. From the same rednecks that brought you the chick getting run over by dirt bike video! And some cheesy "How to" videos! I took a well-needed break from the YouTube and just hoarded footage over the past three years. Here's my first real video! Let me know what you think? Ride Location was near Kelowna BC, Canada at Kyle Demelo's #CampH MayDayz event from 2017. Check the guy out! He's got a pretty sweet spot and some mad riding skills. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn6YzlNxnvVX-868ZnPfxYA/videos
  16. Hey everyone. I have my first hare scramble race this upcoming Sunday and had a question on how I should mount my GoPro. I have a side mount which I like more, and I have a top mount. Only problem is I don't have the GoPro mount that makes the camera go higher on the top so it shows too much visor. I was debating whether to use the side because it is possible that it could hit a tree and get knocked off or if I crash and hit the side of my Helmet it could fall off.. What are your thoughts on which way I should mount it? Any help is greatly appreciated!
  17. Green hills, a quarry and a bit of street riding. Family friendly with no cussin' or music.
  18. I just got a GoPro HERO3 Black Edition. I was wondering what other people use to mount these to your Dirt Bike Helmets? Pictures or videos tutorials welcome 🙂.
  19. hey guys and girls i have a gopro mounted on my helmet right now and i just have it mounted on the top of the helmet. i am not liking it very much and would like to mount it on the side. the only problem is the goggles get in the way. i might buy a quick release strap for it if i have to. how do you guys mount your gopro? feel free to leave pictures and comments that will help me. any cool mounting techniques will do. Thanks! 🙂
  20. While out riding today I rode right into an active logging site. No trail closed no warning signs. This is the nw passage trail south side of Jones road. I was through there 2 weeks ago and there was nothing saying logging would be happening. Looked at the staging area board and no posting of active logging either. I will call the DNR tomorrow so they can get some closed signs up. So for now the nw passage trail is closed from Jones Rd to the knoble trail.
