  1. Hey fellow riders 💜 Another noob question from me. I fell in love with enduro and trails riding so much. I know that technical stuff like pivot turns and covering obstacles and all that good stuff come very easy when practicing on a trial bike and then transferring "skills" on enduro motorcycle. Problem is I can't afford a trial bike. Since pitbikes are very light and easy to wheelie or pivot turn, could a pitbike be an alternative to a trial bike for learning basic technical stuff. Sorry for my creepy English and noob question 😂 Braap on my friends!
  2. Hey Guys! It's that time of year! Just got taxes back and looking for another bike. I'm in a bind and need some opinions. I ride single track, lots of hillclimbs, harescrambles, and extreme hard enduro. (Silver Mountain Xtreme Challenge) I race my 99 RM250. Only thing still stock is suspension and it's rough! I'm a rider, just never had the money for a new(er) bike. So anyway here's my predicament.... 2015 Honda CRF450R, 73 hrs. Seller is asking $4500 for a completely built bike. Factory connection Suspension rated for 170lbs. (Perfect! I way 170), rekluse radius cx, haeseker built motor top and bottom, Tokyo mods mapping, fmf header and silencer, plus tons more! Or a 2013 ktm 350 xcf with 45 hrs. Stock. Seller is asking $5000. I have a lot of factors coming into play here. Value, re-sale value, and what I ride. I don't ride track strictly woods. I have an idea of what my choice would be but I would like some confirmation . Any input is greatly appreciated!
  3. Just got my new ktm 300tpi and decided to go for a test ride. Hard trail, during rain season in Thailand. Wet clay and wet roots will make it sure you are having a hard day!
  4. Looks like he will be riding Yamaha for 2021. Be interesting to see him on one for the extreme events. I'm assuming a YZ250X will be the bike for extreme. He says his 2-stroke has electric start. Will he be running a Panthera kit or did Yamaha develop their own? If you aren't familiar with him, check this video out. Dude can ride. https://youtu.be/WwgNqftj3Cc
  5. So I’m going to try and work on rocks, riverbeds and rock gardens . Typically I have decidedly took my time and have gone slower but very steady in the ugly rocks. The benefit is not breaking your bike and not breaking your body. More often because I am more patient riding and in racing hard enduro stuff I have passed more that get too anxious and crash here . I guess I’m older so don’t care about rushing as much ...It’s take your time. Pick your line . Breathe and try not to fight the bike and just try to get through more clean. Don’t fall and get more tired picking up your bike like lots do when rushing too much... and burning out of energy fast. Sometimes this strategy works and sometimes it’s falling too much and I’m toast early in the race. It’s a sort of discipline to be relaxed and patient and not getting pissed off if the bike isn’t doing what I want it to do. Fitness of course is huge. Experience helps.. Then it’s technique and bike setup.. guarding up..etc ... Anyway I get by but I suck going fast in rocks. I’m wanting to put this thread for working on getting better for myself and anyone else who wants to improve more. I have a full of rocks and boulder riverbed riding section close to home that Im targeting to use as a practice section. It’s hard and I will get my butt handed to me training/practicing/falling there....Anyway please post up strategies on going faster and what you ace fast boulder riders do to go fast and steady here. Post vids or pics etc. Of course this kind of riding kind of sucks but it’s in hard enduro racing. It’s the course . It’s just what some of us ride and love...Some just fly through ugly rocks and boulders damn fast though or at least compared to lots of others. just to start.. Thanks Barry!
  6. https://enduro21.com/index.php/extreme/2870-world-enduro-super-series-to-launch-in-2018 An exciting new enduro championship called World Enduro Super Series had just been launched and in 2018 it’s bringing together all forms of enduro from Classic Enduro, Hard Enduro, Beach Races to Cross Country racing. Literally hot off the press, the World Enduro Super Series, or WESS for short, has aligned with globally renowned events like Erzberg, Red Bull Romaniacs, Gotland Grand National and Le Trefle Lozerien to establish an eight-round series. Kicking things off with the Extreme XL Lagares, 11-13 May, the WESS will be a multi-discipline series with the aim of bringing together the world’s best and most visible events to find the Ultimate Enduro Rider. Organisers of the WESS state that they want to create a series which offers a full test of an enduro rider’s abilities, while at the same time meeting the needs of amateur riders by lifting the profile of the sport through mass participation events. Staged across Europe for 2018, the series will take in Extreme XL Lagares (Portugal), ErzbergRodeo (Austria), Trefle Lozerien (France), Red Bull Romaniacs (Romania), Red Bull 111 Megawatt (Poland), Gotland Grand National (Sweden), Red Bull Knock Out (The Netherlands) with one other race to be confirmed. For 2019 onwards there is already a strategic plan in place for international growth. Entries for each round of the series are made independently through individual race organisers. With an open style category, riders are free to compete on their preferred make and size of motorcycle for each event. The official website — www.iridewess.com — makes for very interesting reading, as does the official press releases outlined below. Check it out. WORLD ENDURO SUPER SERIES – 2018 SCHEDULE Rnd 1. 7. DISCRIPTION - Hi everyone right now I have an 04 CRF250X. I got it to grow into and has been working pretty fine for the logging road trails I have been riding. Recently I did a group ride on some much more enuro trails and saw a majority of two strokes. After doing some research the feeling I get is that for enduro 4 strokes or heavier, slower, more expensive, and are just a ticking time bomb before you have to drop 1500 to rebuild them they really have no redeeming qualities compared to the two strokes ( witch makes me very sad because that is what a have grown uo around). So I was thinking about trying to find somthing like a KDX220R for the tight woods and steep slippery climbs of those enuro trails. Or do some more modifications and after market parts to the 4 stroke that I payed 2200 for. QUESTION- So basically what I'm asking is should I just stick with the 4 stroke and throw some more mony at it or look for a KDX220R. Is the CRF250X a fine bike for enduro and I just need to ride or is really the bike that I should change up? If stick with the CRF what mods would be best? THANKS!
