  1. I wanted to ride out this morning with my friend on this 2006 KX250F I bought a couple days ago but it needs a new sprocket. The nut holding the sprocket on has 20 teeth! I have been looking for hours for information on this and I even read the owners manual. I can’t believe there isn’t any information on this.. I looked up “all different types of wrenches” “all types of nuts” but I can’t find anything on how to take off this dumb nut!
  2. This project is a work in progress for my XR650L. From looking at pictures I assume this should also work for the XR600 and X650R, with a few modifications. My smartphone camera sucks , so don't expect superb image quality. All you need is some basic tools, a headlight for 30-40$ from ebay, a few nuts, bolts and washers, a steel strip not to thick (1 or 2 mm will do; that 's 3/64 to 5/64" for the metrically challanged). That strip should be roughly 500mm long or 2 feet. 1.) Get some 4x6 inch LED headlight from ebay. They can be had for 30-40$, though shipping to germany in my case added 15-20$. Something like this will do. For me the DOT and E marking are very important, as german regulations require something like this (E marking/number). Otherwise you 'll be a pedestrian faster than you can say damned cop. 2.) Because this product was originally destined for a barbaric part of the world, I had to cut 4 threads to M4, neither a M3 or M4 screw would otherwise fit. 3.) Now demount the original headlight and modify the metal frame that holds the headlight in place. For that I bought steel washers (8 needed) with a diameter of 20mm and with a inner hole of 4,3mm to fit screws with a M4 thread. As you can see I modified the inner washers with an angle grinder (a file will also do) to make them line up roughly in the middle of those big holes in the headlight frame. 4. optional) Weld the washers to the frame if you have access to a welding machine. Personally I don't have a machine, but a friend of mine. That step will make the next steps easier and gives the whole contraption more rigidity. 5.) Drill 2 holes in the metal strip that aline with the threads in the back of the LED headlight housing. Tighten the strip down on the housing, mark the points were you have to bend the metal strip. Guestimating worked for me and bend the end of the strip over the frame. You should arrive at something like this: Now you just have to drill holes into the bend over ends of the metal strip, that line up with the screws that go through washers. Repeat that step for the second smetal strip.
  3. So i just bought a 1997 suzuki rm250. The guy i bought it from said that the previous owner just did a complete engine rebuild. It will start and run, but runs rough with not alot of top end power. It also will not idle. I believe its running rich so i cranked the idle screw in all the way in and the air screw 2 turns out, i got it to idle for about 1 minute this way and then tryed adjusting the idle screw out a couple turns and it died again. I still have to dig into the carb and check float level and make sure everything is up to snuff. My biggest worry is the top end power not being there, just kinda sputters in 1st and 2nd, i was able to get it to hit the powerband for a quick second in 3rd gear a couple times but nothing regularly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
