  1. Just wanted to spread the word about this ride. Not at all associated with the club or event. The famous Roselawn Enduro will have a trail rider class this year for anyone who doesnt want to race but ride a really good trail. Entry fee is less. More info at www.midwestenduros.com and here is the flyer. http://www.midwestenduros.com/Flyers/2016%20Flyers/Hill%20&%20Gully%20%202016.pdf
  2. I just bought my first dirt bike (2006 yz125). I have ordered the owner's manual, but I would like someone knowledgeable to inspect and service the bike so that I can be sure that everything is in good working condition. I am located in Champaign-Urbana, but the Chicago area is almost as convenient since I make frequent trips there. I have done some internet searching, but it doesn't seem to be easy to find recommendations for something like this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My apologies if I posted this in the wrong place. Thanks!
  3. im looking for some sand riding and it only an hour away. ive never been there, but watched videos. is it still open? is there a phone number, website, facebook? any info on this forum is 7 years old.
  4. Here's a taste: I rode there today. Track had some jumps that were pretty small but mildy challenging. Polls all over the place (pollocks and structural poles...this place is pollock central). Luckily i speak Polish American and was able to communicate. $90 later (me $45, E4 $45 because "He's 12 not 11") I was on the track and riding. 3 facts about Chicago MX: 1) It's in Bedford Park, IL 2) It's an indoor track 3) the track is tight like a fresh Censored Fumes? Yes. They have 2 exhaust fans but i'm still high right now and it's been 3 hours. I think I hallucinated slightly on the way home...i'm dead serious. My clothes/ gear smell like exhaust as does my bike's muffler. Decent dirt. A couple of sections were nice and loamy. The rest of the track was miserable hardpack. I saw some black tire marks before a few of the turns. Whoop section is kind of whimpy. They are ridiculously small and safe. No big jumps or anything but a few nifty/ challenging obstacles. Parking: insuffiicient. Crowding will be a problem. The parking area is close to the pits so not as annoying as Waterman. Pits: Crap. Very small. I had to speak with several of the other riders which is the worst. Dusty. Everything of mine wound up getting extremely dirty. Flaggers? One guy and "Rider Awareness" style flagging. I still felt relatively safe though...visability is good. Visability? good. Very well lit. Temperature: Cold. They do have heaters but they weren't on. How do they split the practices? Small bike, big bike, quads. Plenty of practice time. Lap times: 56-70 seconds depending on the skill level of the rider. Fun? Hell yeah. It's riding and that's all that matters. Almost time for the "Thumpy" awards?
  5. Hey guys, anyone know when the next race with pitbikes is going to be?!? thanks! Jeremy817
  6. anyone planning on the Little Egypt round?
  7. The first snow, no riding around here, what's everybody's plan for winter??? I will be hitting Links in Mo. Or riding a Midsouth HS. At my age you have to ride to stay in shape. 👍😏
  8. Anyone know of an indoor MX track in Illinois or Iowa? I did a search, but no luck. Thanks.
  9. Did anyone go to Joliet on Sunday? It was awesome. 250 bikes, the tracks were perfect and the food was good. Not bad for $10
  10. http://www.ama-cycle.org/amrace/advancement/index.asp
  11. I remember seeing someone talk about a track that was north of Macomb, Illinois by about 30 miles or so. I cannot find the post anymore? Or if there are any other places to ride near Macomb. I'm a student at WIU and want to ride this spring!
  12. I was just curious if anybody has heard of Atvs and more in Salem Illinois? I went there today to get a bike that i found really cheap on ebay and talk about a bad experience. Asked to test ride a bike and next thing i know the dealer is warming it up by riding a wheelie down the parking lot. strike one. then they wouldnt take the seat off for me to look at the air filter. how hard is that to do??? strike two. finally the front wheel had a flat spot on it and they tried getting me to swap it with a wheel off another bike. not a bad idea but that wheel had a huge dent and dealer said most wheels get flat spots, its real common. strike three, i was outa there and dont ever plan on going back. If anybody decides they want to go there, i wouldnt waste my time. Rude dealers and they do nothing but cuss like sailors. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Thanks for reading my rant!!!
  13. Mcmotopark is hosting first race of the year this coming weekend May 22nd. Many changes to layout, jumps and corners. New start will be in and many jumps changed to be c-class and mini friendly. This is a bonus pts race. we have added lots of soil that is like potting soil, widened the track in spots. great viewing, excellent grooming, fast race program, fun jumps, wide track with lots of options. Should be a great day of racing if the weather holds. www.mcmotopark.com
  14. Does anyone on this forum live near Buffalo range?
  15. Does anyone know if it is still on for tomorrow 4/17/11?
  16. recently i had someone inquire about old results. and looking at the maplehurst programs got me thinking. I am looking for banquet books for the d-17 banquet from 1975 thru 1982. I have 1983 through current. Sometime this year we are going to do a history of overall points earners in all the d-17 types of racing. like to be able to go back as far as possible. let me know what you have and if it's possible to scan and pdf send it to me. thanks wardy
  17. What's up all! Name here is Alex. I ride a CRF250R. I've been riding off and on my whole life, but nothing too serious. I still consider myself a novice. I'm not interested in the track, I love trails, and just riding around/exploring for fun with a few small jumps thrown in the mix. I'm looking for some people to ride with in the area, or some places to go. Lookin forward to hearing from some of ya! -Alex
  18. I am planning on picking it up from a TT member on Saturday. I have questions about registration. The Bike is titled and registered in Indiana. Will I have any trouble registering it in Illinois? Any info would be great.
  19. who puts on this race and where do you find info on start times and classes
  20. I was wondering if Rocky Glen is worth the money to ride at? i usually ride at ki tracks but they are closed this weekend, and i just want to go somewhere to ride since i havent gone anywhere to ride yet this year. thanks
  21. I haven't raced in about 8 years and want to race this weekend, but could not find the answer about plate number rules? Can I pick my own number or in D17 do you have to use the last three numbers of your AMA membership ID? When I raced at Byron I had just started and picked my own number with no problems. Was not sure if that was still the case? I'll be racing Open C, vintage, or 25+....I'm not sure which one yet? I have a 2000 CR 250 which would be a white background and black numbers, correct? If I can pick my own I'll just bring electrical tape just incase someone else has the same number. 👍
  22. Does anyone have a private rental at any of the Illinois tracks on Fathers day? Do you have a couple spots available?
  23. Is there anywhere to do good trail riding, similar to Buffalo range near Joliet? FVOR is not an option for us.
  24. It appears that a 'two-strokes only' class will be a reality for 2010 at Archview MX Park in Washington Park Illinois, right across the river from St. Louis. Tentatively, it will be for all two-stroke models, regardless of year, make, model or size. This would mean that a rider with a KTM 300 XC or a Husky 360, or even an old KX500 or CR500 could get out on the MX track and have a bit of fun. Hopefully it will be a B/C class and the A riders won't be allowed to come over and cherry pick. I'll be on the line for the first gate drop of the new class if it happens!
  25. There's one needing adoption or fostering pretty quick. See post #66 please http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=545893&page=5 I already have four dogs and one of them's got a bit of an attitude and I"m not sure how he'll do with another male dog. He's already trying hard to kill my other male so I have to keep them separated We can arrange to have him transported if needed. Anyone interested, either register on the ADV site and respond directly or just contact me here through PM or e mail (info (at) georgepics . com I hope this post is allowed as I'm trying to do a good thing here. Also, I couldn't find a general forum..I thought we had one...? Thanks George
