    Snap carb plate by fmf

Just wondering if anyone here has tryed this snap plate by fmf that i see advertised? Does it work as stated or is it all hype?

Allows the removal of the Air Induction System for lighter weight and added performance on WR models. This accessory is restricted to closed-course competition use. See California Regulations regarding Emission-Related Parts and Accessories for products for closed-course competition use only.

    FMF Snap

I did a search and found nothing on this contraption, was wondering if anyone had any feedback on it. Slips right in the rubber boot between the carb and the airbox to enhance the air flow characteristics and consequently motor power. This is meant to be the DRZ specific model. "The FMF SNAP™ divides the air passage within the boot into quadrants to increase air velocity by directing the air stream and reducing turbulence. With improved air flow to the throttle valve, you will experience crisper and immediate throttle response, as well as a boost in the low to mid-range torque." FMF Snap Webpage

It's my first dirt bike, I'm new to the sport and learning, I don't have anything to compare it to but it definitely surprises me. And maintenance is super easy

This bike quick, nimble, and confidence inspiring. Its easy to operate and the handling is excellent. I am a big fan!
  8. Hey Thumpers, I have already "uncorked" my 2012 WR450F (Installed a FMF Megabomb Header & FMF Powercore 4 Hex Muffler, installed the short throttle stop screw, competition ECU & removed the airbox snorkels) and I am playing around with the fuel maps...what a HUGE contrast from factory...the bike is now a beast! But like most of us, I'm looking at any other simple/inexpensive "bolt-on" improvements & wanted feedback on the FMF Snap Airwing (https://www.denniskirk.com/dk/pdf/instructions/17/dk173630.pdf) as well as how easy or difficult/involved it actually is to install. Thanks for the feedback!
  9. Is the fmf snap really all that? Whats the pros and cons. I feel like 100 bones it alot.

    FMF Snap in the box

I like what I have read about the fmf snap & I understand what the dark side can offer me, eternal life ect ect yadda yadda yadda! But has any one fitted one up? & if so was it to a carbed 450 07- 12, the only intell I can gather is they make them for the 250 07 on! But my spider sense tells me they have the same air box, therefore it will insert like the proverbial, & on another sting in the tail I think I'm gonna make my own based on the 250 style, out of thin plastic crossed sections I have located, man I love this covert shit. ROOSTA out.

    CR80R Powerbands

Hi guys a newbie to this site i heard about this awesome piece of kit ''Powerbands" or "power valves" does anyone know where i can get some as i cannot find any online for sale, also how do you install them.. thanks in advance
  12. I have an 05 crf450 and lately it has been backfireing ALOT and now recently it wont start, or takes 50+ kicks to start. >.< I will be buying new Valves, intake and exhaust, w/ seats and springs. I just was wondering if there is any combination people would reccomend or usually use, I want to replace em all in one just to get it out of the way. I am told of Kibblewhite SS Vavles are good, but does that count for Intake and Exhaust? And what about springs/seats to go with em? Also, I will be doing my jetting and going with a JD jetting kit. Is this something you would use/recommend? Thanks

    FMF Snap

So i was readin my Mags last night and noticed a serious push for the new FMF snap insert. I am on the edge with this, some of you will say its crap, some of you will praise it, and some will be like me indifferent. What are your thoughts on a 100$ mod that might or might not work...
  14. I was flipping threw a mag and it caught my eye but the websites don't say what they fit do they make products that would fit my 99 400 or am I outta luck? Has anyone tried it and is it worth it?

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The stock choke plate on the Honda XR400R has a window that is prone to breakage, and once it breaks, your induction system sucks the pieces through to your motor and makes for an abrupt end to your ride and costly engine overhaul.
  17. As the topic title says, has any tried the FMF Snap in their 2012-2013 KX450F? It is probably a waste of $100 simply because the bike has a broad range of power from bottom to top, but, in theory, it sounds like it could increase throttle response and the "hit" of the motor...just thought I would put it out there for some feedback.

Very like the ease to innitiate to this bike. Good suspension setup, nice handling but a little lack in power. I upgrade it throught the years with this : Suspension : Stiffer .46kg/mm Factory Connection fork springs, Factory Connection lowering link, thicker FF5 Factory Connection oil in the HSSD. So the bike is now more stable without sacrifying is handling Engine : C4MX ported cylinder head, Pro Circuit camshaft and complete valvetrain, Yoshimura RS4 full exhaust, Moto Tassinari Air4orce, TUF 43mm Throttle body insert, EBC HD clutch spring, Twin air filters, PC racing Pro seal, removed backfire screen with a remaped ECM by Eddie Sisneros. I have now a better response, strong power everywhere with a lot of overrev. Control : Renthal twinwall handlebar, Zeta rubber killer, Zeta fold back lever, Motion pro revolver throttle system, Motion pro grips, Tusk footpegs. Drive : DID VT2 Xring chain, Supersprox stealth 48 teeth rear sprocket, Supersprox 13 teeth front sprocket, Zeta axle blocs. Body : Custom plastics mix, Custom graphic kit, Factory FX B4 seat cover, Cycra full armor skid plate, Work connection Holeshot device, Work connection Radiators braces, Black rims, Red anodized look hubs, Michelin tire, Moose spokes set, Zeta, breather, clips, plugs, washer and cap. With all this upgrade the bike became a real beast on the track.
