Hi guys I'm 200lb, riding for close to 30 years. Currently riding 2016 KTM350xcf and a rebuilt 2002 KTM300MXC. I want to keep both and looking to get a TE/TPI play bike. We ride hillside singles with occasional climb and steep downhills. The 350 is a beast but a bit lazy on tight turns. Was thinking 150I/TPI for the lightwait and agility but I'm concerned it might not be enough for tge occasional climbs. Any feedback is welcome! (And maybe the answer is 300TPI but it's hard to separate from my 2002 in the picture so looking for something different)

As the title states I'm currently running a 2014 Husky FE450 .. brilliant bike has REGO for the road and comes with set of motard wheels+ dirt wheels oversize brakes + Rekluse clutch along with many enduro parts FC muffler etc so awesome 4st ... been awesome having a two in one kind of bike but as we know that can also mean its not perfect at either >> so yet again after many harder enduro rides over the summer ..I'm yearning for the new steed >>well prob 2x ... one likely to be a KTM duke ,, the other a pure enduro beast weight is my main issue with the 2014 FE450 >> 249lbs dry great 90% of the time ... but during some of the harder enduro sections in the mountains events locally it can really wear you out and if you for any reason have an issue the weight just compounds those issues ...usually this can see me making mistakes and ending rolling down hills then restarting in some horrible locations >>Rekluse auto clutch has been brilliant in helping I'm a converted ... pretty experience off-road-enduro rider 30yrs+ .. (along with near on 20x different dirt bikes over those years) 175lbs -6ft tall - fast -tech enduro focus mate had a 18 KTM 350exc thats 17lbs+ lighter ...I'm certainly tempted to checkout out 2017++ 350 .. FX,XCF,EXC,FE ... My last light enduro bike was an enduronlize 97 RM250 .... loved the 2ST fun factor so very light great suspension bad too low geared .... so also tempted to go down the 2017+ KTM 250xc / exc or HUSKY TE250 ...Gasgas (not a fan of the KTM 300exc I rode ..I like some top-end in my 2st + lighter feel ). So yes you can see I'm KTM owned bikes focused ..got a friend thats a KTM mechanic + I like the higher tech parts they come stock with ... I need not only lighter weight but decent fuel range ...also decent top speed 70mph + so 6spd

Hello everyone, first time on the thumper talk forums, and first bike, hope someone can help! So i'll explain this in detail. For reference, the bike has got a Keihin FCR MX 39 Carburetor. Thoroughly cleaned, checked every passage and jet, dissassembled the whole thing, gave it a bath. Petcock is cleaned as well. I've bought this (first) bike (110 hours) about 1 1/2 months ago and have been having trouble since I got it home. When buying it was running fine. But while looking for the choke I probably turned the idle speed adjusting screw and once I got it home I had trouble kicking it so I started playing more with the screw. Realising I wasn't getting anywhere I ended up deciding to buy an adjustable fuel mixture screw, as even with the smallest tools I couldn't get to the one already in there. Installed it, got the idle running alright but when blipping the throttle, it would just starve. Did some research and figured it was my accelerator pump that had to much play in it. Adjusted that, and now I can blip it without issues. Following this I thought I could finally ride it, but the bike's behaviour was still strange. Sometimes it had and has absolutely no issue and sometimes the bike ends up not getting fuel for a short while and picking up again or just ends up diying when opening the throttle. (Video links underneath). So I decided I'd clean the carb entirely. Issue persists. I shall describe, what's happening exactly: I open the throttle, bike accelerates and once I get past about half throttle, sometimes, not always, randomly I'd say, it just bogs and if I don't let the throttle go it dies. Sometimes same thing, but it bogs for a brief moment and picks up again. And sometimes it just works. One thing I haven't checked is the spark plug, but I don't see how that could explain my issue, especially because I didn't notice anything while test riding it. Another thing I noticed on the recordings I made, is that the rear light seems to be randomly flashing although I haven't got my lights on. Another mystery I guess. Any answers to this are welcome too. P.S. I can't find a manual for the Keihin FCR MX 39 anywhere, would be greatly appreciated if someone knows where I can find it. Hey guys/girls, I'm looking at buying a new KTM and don't want to spend the money without riding one first. I'm on the fence between the 250 and 300xc models. I race c class in local hare scrambles and will be racing my first GNCC (Camp Coker) in a few weeks (I'm pretty slow btw). I love casual trail riding as well. My current bike is an 09 200xc. My riding buddy has a 2020 300 husky and It is an absolute dream to ride, but at 170lbs wet I'm not sure I wouldn't be just as happy with a 250 and have less felt weight in the single tracks. I'm always looking for new people to ride with and would enjoy meeting up with someone at a local compound. We have a pretty awesome private 6mile loop in Sumter, SC also. Its tough to spend 10k on something without giving it a test ride... Hit me up if anyone's interested, KTM or not!!

OK here goes... Picked up an 04 200 EXC few months back, needed some work to say the least, wont go into detail of all the things i've fixed on the bike just the current and most present issue I cant seem to fix... it is smoking IE blue smoke/lots of splooge to the point that at the end of a few hour's ride, it's out the tail pipe, running down the back and dripping onto the swing arm/rear break caliper and blue smoking quite a bit. When I first got it, it smoked more and smelled like shit. So first things first went to the carb, I live on the Oregon coast (elevation/temp reference) it's old dirty/stained but inside looks good, came with jetting pilot-45, main-178 needle: no idea what brand guessing stock in the 3rd clip, adjusted the float height due to it leaking gas when bike was upright no tilt with the gas on, Bought JD jet kit and running pilot-45, Main-185 and Needle is blue 3rd clip (JD's recommend specs for my bike @ my attitude). I have also replaced my Inner crankcase seal twice (First time I thought I messed up the O-ring so redid to make sure). I've rebuilt the top end/new piston (same thing) cleaned the PV, NOTE HERE that the PV has some issues, it seems to work fine but the screw that goes on top of the cylinder, down into the PV/flap would not come out preventing me from removing the flap to clean it, however it move's/ function's correctly, and has minimum clearance on both sides. One of the PV cover bolts that also works at the exhaust spring holder, was over torqued at some point (impact driver prob), or a result in a hard impact, the hole the bolt goes into is flailed/jared open a bit, not bad, not in the way of any function/ PV Gearing/hinge, it is not needed for that area to be air tight as their is also a breather that goes out of the PV so will not result in an "air leak" or loss in Top end PSI.... anyway... it's still smoking.... quite a bit.. now the bike itself rides fine I feel, the carb does puke gas when tilted over slightly/ hard to start (kick start) after flooded (like all bikes tho) I don't have any stalling/low idle issues outside of user error on clutch control. Honestly outside of it smoking as much as it does I would think nothing is wrong with it.. I have also tried raising the needle Clip to 2nd clip and it changed nothing at all, not even feel of the bike/response and have a new Spark plug I have yet to put on the bike. I have also "compromised" the crankcase Gasket (new one in the mail) while I was putting the Crankcase back on but that should do nothing with the exhaust just a little gear oil leak not relevant but throwing it out there. So I am at a loss... I've been toying with the idea of getting a Lectron carb... However... would hate to drop $400~$500 and the issue still persist, if it's a jetting/carb/float issue that would fix it and improve MPH/fuel consumption Or something with the PV? but I don't see the PV causing that much smoke/sploogee... I've ridden the bike normally/hard and nothing's happened but I don't want to keep pushing it and possibly clip the bike. Any ideas? "Oh help me 2 stroke community you're my only hope"

I recently picked up a 2017 KTM 250 xc with low hours and the jetting was off I got it way closer and it feels much better now. I just need to refine it a little more yet and am wondering if anyone has any specs running between sea level and 1000 ft usually 10-30 degrees celsius. (50- 90f ish) I know a lot of people say just go to the Keihin from JD Jettint but it’s very expensive compared to ordering 4 or 5 jets lol. (i know it says in the KTM TPI/TBI category but it’s the only option it gave me)

Hey all, im shopping for my first two stroke. I’m a woods rider and I’ve found what looks like a great deal on an 250 sx. Changes in bike thus far are lower gearing on chain and softer spring on shock, bark busters and handlebar risers. I will certainly need an xc gas tank and probably work on forks. Anything else I can/should do to make this single track worthy?

Starter button on my '07 KTM 250 xcf is sticky...makes me crazy. Has a sweet spot but if I miss it too many times the battery starts to run down... It sounds like it gets "tired" & is a "B*tch" to kick. Has a recluse installed, so no roll start possible. What can I do to look into it, as it makes me nervous to be out in the back country with only prayers. ?

Hey, guys I recently bought a 2007 KTM 250f. The bike can be bump started easily and runs fine as long as I keep it revved up a little bit. But, unfortunately right when I stop revving the bike it dies within 0-3 seconds no matter how warm the bike is. Aswell I have not been able to successfully kickstart the bike I always have to bump start it (this could be because the choke is not working properly. Although, I doubt that because I still can not kick start it even when its warm.) Any tips, tricks, or ideas on fixing these problems would be much appreciated. Thanks.
