  1. Recently got my dirtbike back after being stolen. What is the best clutch lever, throttle housing and grips on the market? Want a buttery smooth clutch.
  2. I bought this bike around a month ago and am just getting around to posting it. This will hopefully be a full rebuild thread. Keep in mind that I am a broke 15 year old and will update as I have time. The bike is a 1999 KX125. Paid $500 for it. Supposedly only needed a top end and to have the brakes filled back up with fluid and bled. The previous owner gave me the old piston. He said that he drained the brake fluid because he took the wheels off to put on new tires. It will be my first big bike that I've fixed. The bike came with a full tank of gas and a center stand. It also came with a side stand. I checked all the big things, chain and sprockets were good, it kicked over, tires looked new, pipe looked undented. I realized it had a broken throttle tube, it was missing the silencer, needed misc bolts, shift lever, air filter. Nothing big (yet). It looked like a great bike to fix up and sell. After looking at it in more detail, I have come up with a theory about its background. I think it raced by a guy who knew what he was doing. Then, it was crashed hard, guy got scared and sold it to the guy that I bought it from. The guy that I bought it from only had it for a week and got married. His wife was making him sell it. Maybe he'll be on here and recognize his bike. It has ProTaper bars, Boyseen reeds on stock cage, rear Excell rim, Front D.I.D. rim, Pro Circuit expansion chamber, P3 pipe skid plate, Motion Pro stickers. Just little things that add up. Crashed parts: Broken throttle tube, cracked clutch lever perch, broken rear brake fluid reservoir tab, bent rear brake disk, front brake blew, took out the 2 subframe bolts that hold the seat and rear plastics on, one side seat tab ripped out of seat, no air filter, rear fender airbox cover broke, no shift lever, no air filter, new D.I.D. front rim. I think the crash took out quite a few things, and he bought new ones to sell.
  3. I have a 2017 kx450f and I want to run oversize bars. I don't want to use the adapters because I dont want to change my bad height. What's a way around this without spending $700 on PC triple clamps?
  4. Hey guys, I need some help with deciding which bike to get. I've been riding for 20 years on and off road although never raced. Mostly trail/off-road shenanigans. I've had all sizes of bikes over the years and I've narrowed it down this time for more trail rides, no hard riding or endurance-ish. I'm not a kamikazee when I ride, no big jumps or expert level stuff. Last bike I had was a KX 125. Suited me well enough for the time being. I'm 5'8, 165. Not a big guy. I'm thinking a 4 stroke 250. I've been eyeing the Honda's near me and in my price range, and it seems that valve issues are very common. This is where I need some recommendations. I don't want to spend big money on a new bike but I also don't want a project. I'm thinking a 12-15yr old or so bike. 00-10?? What is the best bang for my buck for a 250 4 stroke?
  5. Hello, Im having trouble figuring out whats wrong with my 2002 kx250. It was sold to me with the owner saying the clutch push rod was broken off inside the engine. The arm that moves when the cable is pulled it also gone. When I look down in the hole on the cable/magnito side of the engine I see some junk, I don't know if anything is broken. Maybe you guys can tell me what I need to do from the pics I uploaded. I'm pretty clueless about what to do, I've never worked on a bike like this before. I'm a vintage guy 😂 any tips would be appreciated.
