  1. I got a question. I own a 2016 KX 85. It ran AMAZING after it first bought it used and was in beautiful condition and I picked it up for only 2500. I was riding when all of a sudden it started bogging down right before the power band.i don’t think it’s jetting because the bogging just turned on like a switch and it was running perfect before it. The bike was like that for a month. Apparently the previous owner never oiled the filter so it was dry as a rock and was falling apart and got sucked into to the intake so I’m guessing my power valve is gummed up or stuck close or open. I was riding one day with the bog issue and about 35 minutes of riding I shut it off to take a break. Came back 20 minutes later and it would not start.I changed the spark plug, cleaned out the carb,checked the reeds,and tried hill starting it but nothing. When ever I try to hill start it I can hear it trying to crank and It starts for like half a second but then dies.I don’t remember if I left the fuel petcock on but what I’m guessing is that I flooded the engine and tried starting which messed up my electronics.The reason why I think I flooded the Engine is because when I took off the reeds the intake manifold and reed were soaked in gas.I heard that starting the engine while flooded can mess with a woodruff key or your CDI or something. There is spark coming from the plug though.And yes I mix the gas with oil at 32:1 cause I’m in the pipe all the time.This is my first time owning a 2 stroke.Any answers or tips.

  4. Hello all, I have a 2009 Kawasaki KX250F. When the revs get into higher RPM's, sometimes a little bit of white smoke blows out the exhaust. It seems to only happen when its reving high or when I start it on a cold day for the first time. Is it normal? Or do I need a rebuild? It is only a little bit, not a ton of smoke. Thanks so much!

    I’ve recently bought a bike... and I can hear ticking from the head. Now I know that the bike has been rebuilt with racecams and new valves. So I’ve been told it may need re-shimming. but the same person who told me that, he know thinks it may be the timing chain tensioner. For 2 reasons, the bike was crashed and he thinks it may be lose, and the bike was sat for abt 3-4 months and all the oil leaked out... he showed me a nut and bolt that yu can put in the tensioner I believe, anybody know about these? Are they any good
  6. The other day my sons 04 KX 100 throttle stuck while he was in 6th. He pulled in the clutch and killed it. The throttle felt rough with a bit of a click or grab or something. He played with the throttle and since it came lose he though he might make it home slow but when he started it the engine was still reving out. He killed it again. Once home we pulled the throttle and everything was free, but the cable inside the carb had a broken strand partially coiled up. We changed the throttle cable and it is still reving the same. Any thoughts on what I should do next? New float? I didn’t check to see if it floats… what would cause the throttle cable to break inside the carb? Thanks, Jenn
  7. I recently acquired a 2002 Kawasaki KX500. All the parts are present (albeit it many are in rough shape). Given that it's one of the few bikes I never had the opportunity to ride/race (and wanted to) I'd like to bring her back to life. So far my biggest obstacle seems to be a split in the cylinder. The kid who had it before me bought a new cylinder and bolted it up. Then, frustrated with the project, left it sitting in a shed over the winter without antifreeze. Now it has a split. Does anyone know where I can still get a jug for this bad boy? Would love to find some new-old stock, but I don't see that happening. Been checking ebay as well but nothing yet. Are there any aftermarket companies that still make 2 smoker jugs? Any help would be appreciated.
