  1. Hi, I went to reseal my forks tonight, and made a mistake. I loosened the valve on the bottom of the forks. Now I can't get the valve to tighten, or wined out all the way... How do I either remove the valve , or get it to tighten up????

The 2 Stroke project begins! I'm still finding my bike, but have sourced a few parts that will get some restoration while I search. This will be done for end of March 2017. Let's get rolling!<br />

The 2003 and 2004 KX 250 are my favorite years for the bike. They are the last of the front end turning bikes, and have better ergonomics (IMHO) than the earlier 99-02 bikes. Send the suspension out for a re-valve or replace it with newer stuff. Avoid the four stroke stuff if you can, they have different trail that affects the handling and requires changing the triple clamps. 2007 is pretty good stuff. You can bolt on 06-08 KX450F with only two small brackets on the radiators for a fresh look. 2014 fenders bolt on.

Loads of bottom end power for a 2 stroke, but a little weak on the top end of power. Hit is moderate. Great trail bike.

Thing is a BEAST. The power band is a challenge to learn on, but I think I'll love it more and more as I get better and better.

The bike handles very well. Its very beaten up, leaks a little oil. But I have fun with it. Once i do a rebuild on a lot of things, ill do a better review. With low compression it's not fair to give it a low score.

I absolutely love my bike. I have had it for around 2 years now and bought it for a great price and plan on keeping it for a long time. The only problem I have with it is that recently, there is a strange vibration sound after you rap it out and it sounds like it's coming from the header but I've checked the pipe and springs out countless times to figure it out. It doesn't seem to hinder the quality of the bike, it's just annoying.

Paid 350 for it and did the top end. Also did new cables, grips, rear bearings, water pump seal, kickstart seal, and rear brake line.

Not running currently. I plan on doing a top end rebuild, replacing the floats, replacing the reeds, adding dual purpose accessories, desert tank, new front brake, new radiator, etc.

    Traction Issues

Hey guys. Some of you might remember my last post the one about me deciding between bikes. Well I kept the Kx250 and got the powervalve taken care of. (It's was just very dirty.) Now it's got full power all the time. However, I can't put it to the ground. The bike is a 2000 kx250 with boyessen power reeds, Fmf gnarly 2 and a Fmf power core 2. The bike is running great TONS of power but even on pavement it spins them up until 4 gear. My tire's are micheline starcross ms3's almost brand new and a good tire for rocky terrain but pretty hard for the stuff I'm doing. (Dirt and sand) And rear tire is at 11psi. Any ideas? This bike would be much quicker if I could get some traction. Hate getting walked by other bikes that I know I should ice

This is actually my first bike and I love it, but it’s not so good at trails or street riding. It’s gonna need some changes before it become proficient at those things. That being said, it has been a very reliable bike and a lot of fun to ride. I will be doing many mods to this bike in the future to make it more like how I want it.
