  6. I have an 05 kx65 little pit bike. I finally found some adult front spring but they were sold out. But they did have the marzocchi front springs. Does anybody know of there is a difference or if they would still work?

    Please help !

hi im new to this fourm and this is my first topic. I bought a 2006 kx 65 for my boy. the bike sat in storage for 2 years before i bought it. i am having a hell of a time trying to figure out what is wrong with it. when i first got it home i tore the carburator apart and soaked it in a cleaning solution for 4 days. then i meticulasly clean it going over each jet and cleaing every orfice with a dental pick and compressed air. it is totalled cleaned now. i hooked it back up to the bike and when i tried to start it the bike starts no problem but was puking a mass amout for oil or gas/oil mix outta the pipe. there was litterly a puddle of it on my floor. So i figured that my float valve wasnt working so i took the carb to my local dealer and the checked the float leval which was out so they adjusted it and installed a new valve and seat. So now the bike isnt puking out the mess as bad anymore but there is still stuff comming out.The bike is running really rich and wont idle by it self without holding the throttle on none of the adjusting screws on the carb are doing anything and neither is the choke. i got a new plug that was the next hotter one. i also took the pipe of and let it drain over night then repacked the exhaust. i drained the gas out and mixed it 50 / 1 and used 94 octane gas. i checked the oil in the crankcase and there was way to much in there so i drained it out and put the proper amount in. The bike is still doing the same thing. there is a ton of smoke comming out the back. The weird thing is when i turn off the gas valve as soon as the bike starts running out of gas it starts running perfectly for a few seconds before all the gas is gone. i really dont know where to go from here or what to check next other then tearing into the engine which im hopping can be avoided. any ideas would be appriciated. thanks
  13. Hi, my name is Jake. I have a 2006 kx100 in ehh condition. But it has a problem. It WONT hit the powerband. The bike gets right to where the powerband starts then the rpms won't climb any higher. It makes a weird sound kind of like a popping coming from the exhaust. It also wont return to the idle. It settles a few hundred rpms over what the idle should be set to according to the adjustments we made. Here are some details about the bike that might help (the bike was bought used for $1050): dented expansion pipe with oil coating the out side of the seam near the dent, it leaks oil out of where the silencer meets the exhaust pipe and coats the outside of the air filter box, when the bike is in 1st with the clutch pulled in it tries to roll forward also when started in gear (we already tried adjusting the clutch), it has not been rebuilt in 6 years but we don't have the tool to check the compression, it is hard to start, carb needs to be rebuilt or rejetted (source of the problems?), and transmission fluid needs to be changed. We already fixed the problem for a short time by taking out the spark plug and cleaning it, adjusting the air screw, and cleaning/re-oiling the air filter. Today the temperature was very high and it was humid out. I was riding with my friend and we stopped to take a break. When we came back out, my bike wasn't starting easily and it wouldn't even idle at the rpm it idles at usually. When we got going, I twisted on the throttle and felt the rpms climb up to just before the powerband and the rpms wouldn't rise anymore. All day before that, I noticed the bike wasn't hitting the top of the rpm range. It wasn't getting full power out of the powerband. Somebody please help me .

Bought bike used. Rode twice and blew up motor. Paid $400 to rebuild myself. Attention to detail vs the Honda's is bad. Bolts are cheap. Fast bike when properly maintained but smaller 4 strokes are just way easier to ride.

  22. I was on the Yamaha that passed through your group in the first section of the trail. The other guy was on a Suzuki. I ended up riding behind the young kid on the little KX and got some good footage of him before I was able to get around him. He was ripping! That kid will be an enduro champ one day at that rate. Was cool to watch.
