    cheap master cylinders....

    im making a '99 xr250 roadworthy on a shoestring budget. The bottom part of the lever mount on the front master cylinder has snapped, it had no bark busters on when I bought it so I assume the previous owner crashed it and broke it. nice of him to fix it with a cable tie though eh......... Aaaanyway, being a poor bastard ive found some cheapo universal master cylinders (I know what youre thinking, I thought the same) on scrubberbay in the description it says they can be used on a yz450, so now im curious as wether they will be ok or not..... all the measurements match up to the xr (banjo bolt diameter, handle bar diameter etc) heres the link, have a butchers and let me know if you think theyre going to kill me or not..... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Front-Brake-Master-Cylinder-for-Yamaha-YZ-Bikes-/151406188233?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item23408316c9

This product is specifically designed for motorcycle use and is not a rebadged bicycle part, it has a FIM race legal ball ended lever and a decent sized fluid reservoir.   3. Just swapped my stock front master cylinder with an 08 gsxr 600 master cylinder. Going to test it out tomorrow. I had to change the location of the start/stop switch. I also had to move the zeta hand guard out a bit.im also using a pazzo shorty lever

    Clake? ..worth getting?

    This looks intteresting.. not sure about how durable this thing is and what problems but the benefits I could use.. It looks a little funky though..maybe just have to get used to it..
  5. got this 05 cr85 and rebuilt the front caliper and master cylinder and new brake pads. The front brake lever still gives way and will not hold pressure(I think I'm saying that right could need a vacuum not sure on the nomenclature). What I'm trying to say is, the brakes work if you build up the pressure on the lever by pulling it in numerous times quickly and will last and work fine for about 2min then it fades away and you have to pump the lever again to build up the pressure. This is all stock brake system. So do the stock brakes just suck or do I suck and messed something up on the rebuild install? I think it was an all balls brake rebuild kit that I got for both master cylinder and caliper. The only thing I could think of that would be bad now is the front brake line like if it had a small tiny tiny hole in it somewhere. The brake system is not leaking anymore after I did the repair though. Is this a common problem? what are my options here?
