  1. I got a question. I own a 2016 KX 85. It ran amazing after it first bought it used. I was riding one day with a bogging issue and about 35 minutes of riding I shut it off to take a break. Came back 20 minutes later and it would not start.I changed the spark plug, cleaned out the carb,checked the reeds,and tried hill starting it but nothing .When ever I try to hill start it I can hear it trying to crank and It starts for like half a second but then dies.There is spark coming from the plug though.I took the cylinder off and the piston and cylinder are &%$#@!ed.The piston rings were stuck in the grooves and I had to use pliers and a screwdriver to get it out.There was a ton of blow-by and the cylinder was scored.I bought a new piston already but how can I fix my cylinder.Im thinking of getting it repaired and replayed by either millennium,PowerSeal USA, or usnicom.This is my first time owning a 2 stroke.Any answers or tips.

Hi everyone, earlier today i was riding along a river and the sand beside me fell away and my '05 CRF230F went into the water at about medium/medium-high revs and got filled with water, and obviously drowned. It was close to night time and i could only leave it on a bank to go home for the night. I was wondering if there is a chance of a rod being bent or something substantial have occurred. Will leaving it until tomorrow (I live in Victoria, Australia) afternoon or the day after be detrimental to the engine and if so what should i do in the morning on the way to work quickly. FYI, the engine did not stop really abruptly, it slowed down gradually and then stopped (if that changes anything). Thanks for considering the question, any replies and advice is much appreciated.
  4. Hey guys so I have a 97 kx 100 that I bought used and since I’ve had it the most I can ride on it is 5 miles before it runs out of gas. I’ve had several people look at it and have rebuilt the carburetor , put new Jets in it , messed with the sizes and settings as well as followed what’s in the service manual for recommended settings etc and Its still a mystery & at ill runs out of gas quickly. It doesn’t idle AT ALL and the clutch isn’t very responsive other than that it runs GREAT I just really wish I could get to the root of the issue. I’m new to the mechanics of dirtbikjng so if I sound uninformed or some of these things aren’t related that’s why but I’m very eager to learn and understand so anything helps. Thanks in advance

  6. I recently got a 1991 (I think) kdx250 engine from my buddy for $150, in almost running condition, as well as rads, exhaust, and muffler. He said the engine had been sitting in a bucket of water for 5 years and he rebuilt it and said it may need to rings but it ran. (Seems good compression wise, and it bogs when kicking it when throttle fine). However, he said it kept blowing ignition coils for some weird reason so he just got rid of it and converted the bike to electric. I ended up finding a complete 1991 kdx250 for $300 that had a seized engine. So I swapped over the engines, put it new oil, new coolant. But now I have no spark. The frame’s wiring had been butchered. A yellow cable from the engine was never connected, two front wires at the front were torn off, and two at the rear were unconnected plus a brake light switch wire. Any idea why I’m getting no spark? After checking I do have some spare parts, I have like 4 spare ignition coils, not sure if any work, and some other part that was on the air box (small with a red and black/white wires). The one on the bike says 2.8 and the spare I have is 5.4 not sure if this is voltage or anything. I have already tried swapping the plugs, what next?
