So I love this little 04 TTR125L. Got it in rough shape and got it back and running like a bat out of hell. I'm a diesel mechanic by trade and can fix anything. My front frocket was extremely wobbly with the lock on and on the drive so I put a washer behind the sprocket and locked it back. I was just wondering if that will damage anything or did I do right? And can I put a 15t sprocket in front?
My customer purchased a 2013 WR250R with all the mods (header, muffler, airbox, FMF controller) and brought it to me complaining about lazy acceleration and misfires while blipping the throttle. I verified the complaints and experimented with many adjustments to the FMF controller. I wasn't able to produce meaningful results during my adjustments. In a stroke of dumb luck, I noted that the misfire while blipping the throttle only occured while in gear, i.e., with the neutral light OFF. I jumpered the neutral switch to ground and rode the bike - Wow! It was like a different bike. It pulled hard in the mid range and no misfire occurred while blipping the throttle downshifting. My experience is limited to Ducati race engines and I don't know how the neutral switch interacts with the fuel map. Does any of the experts know the answer?? I'd appreciate any feedback or confirmation of the issue from others. I have the same engine performance problem as YZach:
Hey guys! My name is Andrew and I'm new here from Northwest WI and just got an early Christmas present. My boss had an old CR500 in his dad's barn in WA that nobody could get working. I ended up getting it from him for free for a favor. Flew out to WA for work, bought a 2001 F350 7.3l dually (rust free unlike stuff from WI), threw the bike in the back, and drug it home to WI. My plan is to completely restore it (with small modifications) this winter. I've already started making progress and will add more as I get time. Just wanted to start a project thread so you guys can motivate me to finish it!
