  1. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to take the powervalve governor out of a KTM/Husqvarna 85. I’ve bought a new spring for it and I don’t know how to fit it, I’ve heard the spring is in the same spot as in the bigger KTM’s but after I take the cover off the bolt underneath (pictured) just keeps turning. Does anyone know? Thanks heaps.
  2. Chances are that your gear is caked in mud by the end of the day. While a thorough cleaning is necessary, you run the risk of damaging the your outfit in the process. Alternatively, you don’t want to be wearing dirty gear because you’re afraid of ruining the material. Whilst you should always adhere to the specific washing labels your gear comes with, these tend not to be detailed. Luckily, there are basic guidelines you should follow while washing your gear to ensure you get maximum cleanliness with no harm done. Act fast Starting the process early is essential in cleaning your gear. Avoid crumpling your outfit as this allows the dirt to sink in. Instead, try to remove as much as dirt as you can before properly washing it. This can be done by hosing off the mud under a low pressure. For stubborn stains, use a soft brush with cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid using excessive force as this can deteriorate the durability of your gear. Oxygenated detergent You should be wary of using oxygenated detergent when washing your gear. While it’s useful for the extra lift it gives to stains, its active ingredients can dry out the leather knees. Over time, this will make them unsafe due to cracking and splitting. Turning your gear inside out and soaking with a mild, non-abrasive detergent is gentler than using oxygenated detergents without compromising on hygiene. Machine washing After removing as much dirt as you can, wash your gear in the machine under a cold wash and cold rinse. Some riders are tempted to pressure clean their gear or wash it under a more rigorous cycle, but this runs the risk of crumpling or fading your gear. It’s also powerful enough to push the oils out from the leather knees, compromising their flexibility. Also avoid washing your gear with bleach, as this will fade the colour. Drying Tumble drying your gear after it’s finished washing can ruin all the careful cleaning you’ve done to this point. Hang it to dry in a well ventilated area out of direct sunlight. This will allow the material to breathe and protect the colours from fading prematurely. After it's dry, pack away neatly and never iron it out as this can melt the fabric. 3. Ok we have RV at Kawi ... Kawi also picked up McGrath which "I" will always relate to Honda but hey that is just me ... and now we have Andrew Short which i liked at KTM now the new Honda ambassador.. It is all great these guys are continuing in the industry , just unusual when you remember them with a different brand.. So who is next ?? Bowman toooo ??? http://racerxonline.com/2016/10/07/andrew-short-named-brand-ambassador-for-american-honda
  4. Tim Gajser will not be at the MXDN this weekend http://motocrossactionmag.com/news/world-champ-tim-gajser-drops-out-of-motocross-des-nations
  5. I thought this one was pretty good. Guy puts it pretty bluntly, not in a Bob Hannah I'm going to be an ass for dramatic effect kind of way, but just says things like he sees them. http://motocrossactionmag.com/home-page/interview-of-the-week-jeff-stanton
  6. At least in regards to his riding style. I'm not saying he'll have a similar career, but he's young, fast, and has a similar riding style. Growing up watching guys like Bailey, O'Mara, Glover, Hannah, etc. I always remember the emphasis on the attack position with elbows up. Forker is fast, but kind of like Villopoto, he rides a lot with his elbows down, which I don't think looks as cool, but he's fast! Good luck to him, he's having a very solid rookie year.

  8. In route to myrtle beach.. Going to try to get some autographs on my brain bucket... Any tips ? Pit pass ? Get there before dawn ? Grease the security personnel ?
  9. I found a dealer with a 2013 never sold, still in the crate. I know that a good used one would fetch $3000 at best here in the Midwest, and I see dealers with holdover 2019 Kawi's and Suzuki's with $4999 advertised price, so a '13 has to be a lot less, of course. What would YOU pay for a 2013 still new today?
  10. I have owned and raced a number of 4-strokes, mostly 250F's, since 2003 ( mostly Yamaha and a couple of Suzuki's) and always thought the Kawi's were the most troubled when it came to motor reliability. This might just be perception, but it is the way I have viewed things. Anyway, there are some really sweet deals out there on leftover 2019 KX 250's and I am giving a serious look at picking one up for a lot less money than a YZ-F will cost me. So, over these last 3 to 4 years, would you guys rate the KX-F to be a solid, reliable motor or should I stay with a blue bike?
  11. So I am a fairly new owner of a 2015 KTM 250sx. The bike ran good for a while with a 50:1 mix which is what the previous owner used. The manual reccomends 60:1. However, recently i have been fouling the recommended spark plug and believe it has to do with jetting. The bike also tends to smoke a lot more than i think is normal as it leaves behind clouds. I cant seem to get a good understanding of the idea so i was wondering what any of you guys could do to help. I ride motocross and trails mainly in pennsylvania and places -1000 sea level. All i know is that there is a 158 main jet in. I have not done any digging yet because i don't even know where to begin with figuring out what jets to use. Any recommendations or solutions would help.
  12. No access to Ironman replays today,,,why?
  13. What a disappointment he's been on Kawi. Couldn't even beat Barcia these last few rounds. Good thing for Roczen that Tomac is having issues...
  14. or so it seams with Savatgy's bike ! what's the scoop ? it almost seems like he's sick. or his conditioning is not on par
  15. I am jumping on it. Cody is the peoples privateer, Tomac the peoples champ. Way to keep what is of paramount importance first and what is secondary, second. I also want to give a shout out to all those who came to my rescue at Echo Valley just in case you are on here. The love i felt from those who put aside their day to help me was amazing.
  16. PICKERINGTON, OH – September 20, 2016 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The American Motorcyclist Association has announced the professional competition numbers for pro-licensed riders competing in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship for the 2017 season. All riders use the assigned professional number for competition. In addition, the current champion runs the No. 1 plate instead of an assigned professional number when competing in the class or region in which the No. 1 plate was earned. 18. Anyone watch the replay on Offroad videos? Computer issues? Mine went nuts and scared me, had to shut it off and reboot.
  19. At least that's the rumor flying around on Twitter by Reed and Webb. All due to Hurricane Hermine that is hitting the area. I haven't seen any confirmation by the MXGP folks. Anybody know if this is true? I wonder if the Euro's are like., "what the fuq is a hurricane, I thought he retired!?" 🤦 https://www.instagram.com/p/BJ3HHwGA_rY/
  20. MXoN: 9/24 & 25/2016, Maggiora Italy The last MX race of the year 😢. I love the American European shootouts, even if the best of the Americans are pool side right now talk'n smack. This track is pretty cool. Do you know anything about this track? If you do, talk about it. Monster Energy Riders Cup: 10/8/2016, Veltins Arena Germany. I read somewhere that this is not a supercross track - that it's a larger - that it's a hybrid mx-sx track. It sure looks like a sx track to me. I'd call the Charlotte track a hybrid. What do you think of this "SMX" track? Monster Energy Cup: 10/15/2016, Las Vegas. The last American SX race of the year, and a whiff of 2017. Crazy downhill start! Are they really going to do this? (Note the date on the video. I bet this track layout has changed by now.) Is Tim Gajser still coming? I hope so! I place him top ten finish. That's it. He's still learning.
  21. Here are a few of the pictures that I took last Saturday at the Charlotte MXGP race. I wanted to share these with you guys. Hopefully you will enjoy some of them....
  22. Guys we've let Jessy Nelson fall through the cracks in here and his condition has not really improved much since the crash. I'm hoping that all of us can contribute something to a young man who's entertained us all on the track. It saddens me that our sport does not take care of its top riders when something like this happens but that's where we all can step up to the plate and donate something even if it's the $15 that you were going to spend on new grips. Everyone try to help with what they can for this young ripper.
