  1. So I want to fit a Speedo to my stock Honda CRF230F, I know people have fitted the Trail Tech endurance to them but they are a bit pricey so my questions are is there another reliable Speedo or is my best choice to bite the bullet and get the Endurance? My other question is the stock stator for the CRF230F enough to power a Speedo or more specifically a trail tech endurance 2? I fully capable of installing it and splicing the wiring, my question is just can the stock bike support it? Also the Bike does not have a headlight.
  2. Got the lifan fixed... Or so i thought. I installed the tire today, started up second kick, idled fine. I drive the bike get into 4th gear something seemed off tho every other gear wasn't going as fast as usual. I go max speed in 4th and im going 19..... Be known i usually go 35 on max throttle. I check the spark plug and it's lean so i richen it to a tan. I go back out and still can't even reach 20.. it also seems to backfire out of the carburetor. I decided to park and let it idle. It makes a pshh sound as a vapor comes out of the carb.. and it dies so i start it back up and it idled really high until i killed it and restarted. Long story short i can get past 20. The carb is backfiring and dies and then it idle high afterwards. It never has done this before i cleaned the carb and i checked the timing etc can't find anything unusual. Anyone know how to fix this and get back to 35 mph
  3. My son has a 2016 KTM SX-F. He has an intermittent problem with the bike not starting. This recently started happening about 30 minutes after he has been riding, then it will not start for the rest of the day. The next morning it starts and the same thing happens again. When the problem happens, the starter turns over until the battery dies, but it appears that the power relay output (pin 4) which is connected to Pin 1 (Orange Wire) of the diagnostic connector stays at 0 VDC. We stumbled across this when we were checking the fuel pump for power. The control line for the relay (Pin 1) that comes from the voltage regulator (Pin 1) only changes from 13 VDC to 12.9 VDC when the starter button is pressed (probably not enough difference to activate the relay). Then following the signal back from the input of the voltage regulator (Pin 3) to the starter button, this voltage goes from 0.00 to 0.25 when the starter button is pressed. I'm thinking that it may be the voltage regulator, but I don't have enough experience to be sure (of much). I'm trying to attach a schematic below with my color coded notes. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. If this is answered in a different thread, I'm sorry to repost. One other thing to note is that when it is running the starter relay gets very hot to the touch and you can smell it heating up, which I'm pretty sure it not a good thing. Thanks again. Dave
  4. I just got got a 18 EXC-F 450 six Days about a month ago, already have 200miles of singletrack/Enduro on her. Can someone, anyone please explain the electrical system as it relates to powering auxiliary devices, (flood lights, heated grips, etc) How much wattage is available? How much wattage can I use without impacting the battery? Does the system switch from battery to stator after engine starts? dont be afraid to get technical, i can take it.
  5. Hey guys. I have a 1996 rm 125 and I am taking apart the top end currently. Been riding the bike for a while and been thinking my Powervalve might be need to be cleaned because I really have to wait for the powerband to kick in. I took apart the linkage cover to discover that the actuating arm is fairly easy to move even with my finger. On other bikes I noticed that you really had to pull on the arm to put it back into place and it wouldn't turn with just your finger. I haven't taken it all the way apart yet as I might find more problems I might need help with but I have attached what I am talking about. Let me know if anyone has any info. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys I race micro sprint cars and run a 2001 cr250 motor, I have it stroked to 270cc and run a bore diameter of about 68mm. Runs on methanol and its built with lightweight everything and feel I've hit the top as far mods for this thing go but I want to squeeze every inch of power I can out of it. Any suggestions?
  7. Hi there y'all, I have a 2002 xr200r and a 2000 xr200r. I've noticed that my 2000 has balls and my 20002 has balls the size of a hampsters. I can't figure out why this is. Ive done oil and plugs on them. The only difference I can tell off the back is that my 00 does not have the muffler tip thing that's supposed to be bolted on. It sounds like a damn harley lol, but it is fast as hell. My 02 on the other hand just don't have the same power and throttle response as the other. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. So i just bought a 1997 suzuki rm250. The guy i bought it from said that the previous owner just did a complete engine rebuild. It will start and run, but runs rough with not alot of top end power. It also will not idle. I believe its running rich so i cranked the idle screw in all the way in and the air screw 2 turns out, i got it to idle for about 1 minute this way and then tryed adjusting the idle screw out a couple turns and it died again. I still have to dig into the carb and check float level and make sure everything is up to snuff. My biggest worry is the top end power not being there, just kinda sputters in 1st and 2nd, i was able to get it to hit the powerband for a quick second in 3rd gear a couple times but nothing regularly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
