I'm looking for an air cooled 2-stroke donor motor to put on a moped/mountain bike frame that has pedals so it is considered a moped and street legal, no plates, insurance or motorcycle license needed. Currently has an 80cc semi automatic chinese 4stroke motor. It will be riden mostly in the street. I have found the following donor bikes for 1800 or less. This frame is really light so I don't want to go to big but I also want it to rip. Also I'm leaning toward the Enduro motors, they seem to last longer I don't want to be doing a topend every 30 hours. I had a liquid cooled kdx200 many years ago just sold my yz250 to fund this project. Any insight or advice on these motors is greatly appreciated. I attached a picture of the moped it's actually called a motoped. 1983 kdx250 $1200 1982 kdx250 $1000 1982 rs175 $500 1977 pe175 $1000 1987 kdx200 $1800 1985 yz200 $1500 1977 pe250 $1200 1985 kdx200 $1300 1997 rt180 $1300 1999 blaster200 quad$1400 1979 yz250 $1400 1998 Rt100 $1200 1992 kx 60 $800

I recently picked up a 1995 Pw80 for $500. The Bike is completely Mint. I intend on using for a pit bike and already replaced the rear shock to a stiffer one. Not the front feels like mashed potatoes. Is there any fork swaps for the bike? Obviously you can use PVC and more oil but i just want to swap the forks. Any ideas?

Hello all, I have searched through the web but am struggling to get confirmation. Can someone please confirm; - The type of carb in the PW80? Is it a PWK? - Pilot and main jet sizes? I have looked at the el cheapo jet kits on the net and the main in the kits start at 155 but the stock main 'appears' via manual to be a 125, making me think these jet kits would be a waste and the wrong size. I know there are those that may give the standard "Do your research", of which I have tried, can you please simply flip me a link as it would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Hey all, I want to get into racing pit bikes on a track in my free time just for a fun way to stay in shape for the woods racing i do, I’m just curious as to which bikes would be good on a budget (preferably 1k or less) i’m mostly leaning towards a pw80 or anything 70cc-110cc i’m having good luck with the pw80s as they seem pretty cheap right now but my buddy said they won’t be very competitive against some of the fast guys on 110s, but i’m pretty experienced myself so i’m not sure if it would be worth a shot on one of them or not i don’t really care what brand as long as it’s not a total piece of junk

So pretty much I got a new carb because the old one wasn't the exact same as stock and leaked gas out the overflow. When the new one came I threw it on and it ran horrible. I tried to tune it a little but nothing helped. I put the old one back on but it still runs like crap unless I turn off the gas then it runs fine. Help

Bought a 2003 Pw80 from neighbor. Got it to start right away, but wont stay running. Replaced spark plug, cleaned carb and main injector, replaced air filter,, but the darn thing quits after a few runs around the block. Cant seem to get it to stay running long enough to get kiddo time to learn how to ride on it. Any ideas how to keep it running for more than 5 min?

Hi there, So I know I might get some backlash about this but my 3.5 year old has a PW80 it was my sister in laws and she out grew it a few years ago so it's now my sons. He is a VERY tall 3 year old (about 46 inches tall) he can't touch the ground yet so we were thinking training wheels but we can't find any anywhere. Would anyone know where we can find any or have any suggestions as to what we can do to help him ride without having to have his aunt with him? Just a few things about my son he has been riding for about a year and a half with someone, he doesn't have training wheels on his bicycle and he loves to ride but really wants to do it on his own. Here is pictures for size reference him on a banshee and next to his bicycle that's a 16 inch.

i recently bought a 96 pw80 to play around on until i get a bigger bike. we were out riding and the idle randomly started to rev really high. i cleaned the airbox/carb thinking maybe something got in there. but now it wont idle at all unless the choke is on but the idle still goes crazy high. i tired resetting the pilot screw and its doing nothing. bike is completely stock. maybe an air leak or crank seal. any help is appreciated

Hey guys I just rebuilt my pw80 new top end, carb, petcock and now it's hard to start so I push it to the top of my hill and jump start it and it takes a while of rideing for it to start rideing at all. Once the engine cools down again it's the same thing again it wont start Any idea what would be making this and how to fix it?
