So I’m doing a total rebuild of a $500 2000 KX125 that “just needed a top end” .... I found it needed a cylinder weld and replate (big gouges) and the head trashed when I went to look at it. Bought it and noticed some rod play in the crank and took no chances. Ended up rebuilding the whole motor going with new oem crank, I don’t trust the hot rods lol. Had no luck finding a new or used cylinder head for this run 99-02 of the kx. Is my head too far gone to return to stock? Should I mill it for race gas? Also what are stock squish settings for this head for a starting point when milling?
Could anyone help me decipher the jetting on a 2008 YZ450F that I've just purchased... The guy who I purchased it from didn't seem to know too much about it but mentioned it's jetted for race gas, super clean bike, seems like a stock motor except for Yoshimura pipe although haven't taken head off yet. He hadn't had it long so did't know what race gas and had just used pump with the air screw all the way out on the couple times he took it for a spin because he said it was popping. To me it gets hot super quick from start up, fires really easy but within a very short time the rads are hot and the cylinder is hot too. It's extremely noticeable compared to my other 4 stroke, KXF250 08. So I stripped the carb and the jets in it are: NFPR Needle in 3rd clip position. 165 Main and 45 pilot. Anyone have any info on what gas this may have been jetted for? I'm based in South East Florida if that's any help Thanks
