i got my first dirt bike when i was 8. it was a kc70cc pit bike. after that when i was about 12, i got a 2007 ttr 125. a year and a half later a bought the 2002 rm 125. my dad had a rm 250 when i had the ttr 125. i fell in love with the rm's plus my cousin used to race and one of his favorite bikes was the rm.

i Have a 2016 yz125 not a 15 thupertalk hasn't updated it in yet but thats ok! i purchased my 2016 yamaha yz125 brand new from the yamaha dealer a few months back. its my first 2stroke i have ever owned and i absolutely love the bike! i orignally went to pick up a 250 2stroke but they had just sole the last one so i grabbed the last 2016 yz125 at the time. the bike runs great an very strong, even stock. i have never had any problems what so ever an when you get used to a 2smoke there is really nothing you can't take care of. i use yamalube premix at 32.1 ratio an i change my transmission fluid every few rides with yamalube 10w 40. so far i installed a FMF factory fatty pipe with the stock silencer an i just recently installed Vforce 3 reeds and they woke the bike up big time. it sounds great an runs even better. i started mixing my fuel 50% 93 octane an 50% 110 octane leaded and the bike is so much more crispy! this bike is my baby and I'm glad i went with the #BlewCrew lol

Great fun bike, only had a little bit time on it so far so giving it 4 stars, but it's a very fast and reliable little bike. I love it!! Glad i moved to a smoker! ALso, its actually a 2013 but no diff. between 12 except graphics or some crap.

Replacement Pro Series Reeds for Rad Valve
  8. 20 reviews

An aero-form reed valve that corrects the problems associated with existing reed valve designs Maintains flow velocity through the valve and re-directs the intake charge for even distribution to the intake ports Provides quicker, sharper throttle response and more horsepower. 1-piece aluminum casting; no manifolds to trim or plastic pieces to insert. Boyesen Pro Series RAD Reeds included.

Very light and nimble, great ergos, inspires confidence and makes you want to ride every day. The versatility of the bike is almost unbelievable considering it's only a 150. It has great low end grunt, a midrange that is all about maintaining traction, and a top end that will shock your buddies on bigger bikes. It can be ridden off the pipe with great effectiveness (especially helpful on those slippery days) or it can be ridden like a rocket on the pipe. It resists stalling as well as any bike I've ever owned...and I've owned a LOT! I get 3.5 hours of moderately hard riding per tank of fuel, so the range is among the best in the business. Now the bad news. As delivered the bike does have a couple of serious flaws, but they are easily fixed. The stock reed cage is junk. Replace it immediately with a V-force or Boyesen and you'll never have another worry. The progressive stock power valve spring is not well liked, and most guys replace it with the alternate straight-rate yellow spring. Some even prefer the red spring (from the 250/300's). Once you address the above items (and I recommend doing both before moving on to the next issue) you will still find that the jetting is horribly rich. This MUST be corrected early or you will be buying lots of spark plugs. Don't worry, the Mikuni is a great carb, it just needs to be jetted correctly. Once done you will be rewarded with phenomenal performance.

Ran this last year just as I bought it and now throwing $ in the pot. It was in horrible shape and everything is being replaced. Still a work in progress, but it will be in like new condition soon.
  13. I ordered a Rad Valve and it should be here in a couple days. I can't find anything from Boyesen on their website, maybe some info will come with it in the mail, I don't know. I'm wondering if I'll need to rejet. I live in Texas, just outside Dallas, and I have the pleasure of getting ride Red River Motorcycle Trails (Think "Red Bull's Last Man Standing") most of the time. No matter where I go though, there's not really any crazy topography changes, just insane temp changes. I have the bike pretty dialed in at this point, but will the addition of the Rad Valve cause me to need to rejet. I'll be replacing a V-Force if that matters. Thanks in advance. -BR
  14. I have a 96 KDX 200. Had new topend, and reeds put in about 10 hours ago. I took is down the road really easy 1 time and ran perfect. Coming back I got on it a little but never full throttle in about 4th gear. All of the sudden I heard a real loud knocking noise. I let it sit there and try to idle but then it just quite. I tried kicking it but it was really rough. I pulled the spark plug out and kicked it about 20 times and all seemed normal. Put the plug back in and it was still really rough. It will try to crank but then quite all of the sudden. So I took it apart and replaced crank and all bottom end bearings also the wristpin bearing. Still doing the same thing. Im tired of chasing the problem and need to get to the bottom of this. Any help would be appreciated!
